The Team

The team above is the team that i currently use and that i need rating. I'm fairly new to competitive battling and i would love your feed back on how my team works, if i should change Pokemon, and all that other good stuff. So he is my team in more detail...

Lead
Infernape @ Focus sash
Naive
EVs: 92 Atk / 252 SpAtk / 156 Spd

-Stealth Rock (Grass knot?)
-Close combat
-Fire Blast
-Fake out

This is the common specially based Ape lead. First use fake out to break the sash on the opponent, then finish is able too. If not, predict the stealth rock and throw up my own rocks. I find that he is a fairly good lead, but i do have problems with swampert, starmie, Aerodactayl, and a few other leads. That's when i was thinking of switching out Stealth Rock for Grass knot. This will give me the chance to get rid of Swampert and Starmie. Is this a good lead for my team?

Revenge Killer
Dragonite @ Life Orb
Adamant
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spd / 4 HP

-Extreme Speed
-Fire Punch (thunder Punch)
-Outrage
-Earthquake

Another standard revenge D-nite. I use extreme speed to come in and clean up weak sweepers or to force a switch out. Fire punch is to take out Fortress and Scizor, while doing decent damage to Skarmory. I'm thinking of switching this to Thunder Punch to hurt bulky Water pokemon. Outrage is his main Stab attack. Does a massive amount of damage to what ever doesn't resist it. Finally, Earthquake is to kill anything that resist the other moves. Overall very good pokemon to use and has massive power.

Trapper
Tyranitar @ Choice Scarf
Jolly
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spd / 4 def

-Stone-edge
-Earthquake
-Pursuit
-Crunch

I guess i could call this a Revenge killer T-tar. His main goal is to trap starmie, azekf and gengar. Switch him in and he will out speed the 3 i mentioned. If they try to switch out, pursuit will kill them. If they chose to stay in they will take massive damage and/or be killed. If they are not going to switch out, crunch will be more damaging. Stone-edge is the main STAB attack the kills Most flying pokes in one hit. Earthquake covers the rest. T-tar comes in handy and has been of great value to my team.

Sub-Dancer
Kingdra @ Lum berry
Adamant
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spd / 4 Hp

-Substitue
-Dragon Dance
-Outrage
-Waterfall

This is the Standard Sub-set for kingdra. Because of the lum berry, kingdra can come in on toxic spikes or a status move. From there, he can set up a sub for a free turn. Then start to set up. Kingdra has to main STAB attacks, Outrage and waterfall. After 2 DD, Outrage will hurt anything, even pokes that resist it. Waterfall can be used to damage everything but water and grass types. Kingdra is one of my favorite pokemon to use. He is rather bulky and has 4x resistance to fire and water attacks.

Physical Wall
Celebi @ Leftovers
Bold
EVs: 252 Hp / 220 Def / 28 spd

-Thunder wave
-Grass Knot
-Leach Seed
-Recover

Another Standard set, the Physically defensive Celebi. It has massive bulk and can take hits like a champ....Excluding bug type moves =P. T-Wave is to paralyze the switching pokemon. From their, i can seed them for extra health each turn. Then recover from the damage i have received. For my only attack i use grass knot. Does major damage to poke that cant resist it. This celebi has helped me out a lot. It cripples sweepers and destroys physically based ground pokemon.

Special Attacker
Lucario @ Choice Specs
Modest
EVs: 252 SpAtk / 252 Spd / 4 Def

-Aura Sphere
-Vacuum Wave
-Hidden Power Ice 70
-Shadow Ball

I got this just to try out because i thought it was an interesting set. But i came to realize that this pokemon is very deadly. Most people think lucario is mostly physically based....but not mine. Aura Sphere hurts anything that doesn't resist it. Vacuum wave is meant to kill T-tar/and weavile in one hit, or to kill many weak sweepers in the late game. Hp-ice is for flying types, zapdos and D-nite. If you know the have a ghost type, shadow ball will OHKO all of them if you can predict the switch.

This is my team and i hope to see comment to further this team more!!
If you see any pokemon that can be switched out with anyone else, please say something =D

Thanks for your time!!

Just a few things:

Definatly keep SR on Infernape, it provides great offensive momentum and helps teams like yours a lot.

With base 80 Speed, Dragonite isn't outspeeding very much. I recommend you change it to a mixnite to cover more and to slow down the speed. Something like this:

Dragonite @ Leftovers
Ability: Inner Focus
Nature: Rash
ev's: 116 atk / 236 SpA / 166 Spe

Superpower
Flamethrower
Draco Meteor
ExtremeSpeed

This is like the set you had, only it offers more coverage in Superpower. 116 in Atk for OHKO on Bold Blissey after rocks, since T-Tar is covered by Luke and T-Tar, 166 Spe to outspeed 244 spe Breloom and nail it with flamethrower. The rest go into SpA for Flamethrower and Draco Meteor

i will definitely add that to my team =D

All I can see is a typical scarftran could potentially tear right through this team Your best chance is with lucario but once he is gone you'll have some difficulty so you may want to had a check or counter but I'll leave that up to you because you'll know which counter is best for you

@ Pokelover13

you have got to be kidding me right?
Kingdra and most of his team can take his STAB Fire Blasts. Dragonite takes Ground Moves and although dragon pulse hits most of the team Lucario can come in and can use Vacum wave.

Anyway regarding Dragonite it is currently in C&C its getting updated. Therefore I would like to see the set looking more like this

Dragonite @ Life Orb
Mild
52 Atk / 252 SpA / 204 Spe
-Draco Meteor
-Extremespeed
-Earthquake
-Fire Blast

This set means that you are not locked into Outrage like you are above while hitting things very hard with STAB Draco Meteor. Its similar to your set except this breaks stall a bit better.

Have a Nice Day!

@ginganinja and @ pokelover13

Thanks for the comments!

Scarftran may pose a little problem for my team, but if i play it right i should be fine =D

Also, thats the second time im being recommended to that set, so im going to go for it =D. It has the same coverage, and can let me kill those bulky steels in one hit

Another thing that came up was that i am slightly weak to SD scizor. Any suggestions for taking that out?

Something like a Gyarados or Suicune over Kingdra will fix that weakness to SD scizor right up. Mind you, Scizor wil have difficulties taking a Specs Aura Sphere anyway.

Just a little curious: You say your new to competitive battling, you joined here in May and have 357 posts currently. How exactly? It can't be from RMT's I hope and there aren't many chatting posts here. Just a little weird...

You want SR on Infernape. SR turns 2HKO's into OHKOs or 3HKOs into 2HKOs.

T-Punch or Fire Punch on Nite huh? Tough choice but if you keep Infernape after setting up SR you can hit Scizors and Forre and Skarmory. You can then use T-Punch.

Drop Crunch on TTar for Aqua Tail gives you better type coverage and it's just good to spam pursuit on ghosts or psychics. I don't really like Scarf as most of them switch anyway so you might as well use Choice Band or Expert Belt to bluff choice. That way you don't use like Pursuit and become set-up fooder for a DDNite.

Rest looks fine, just a few little tweaks here and there you have a great team! Good luck.
