Hi, this team is for Shoddybattle. My team uses pokes or movesets long forgotten after the release of Platinum. It works pretty well. It still has some slight problems though. For example, dull colors. Just kidding.
The team:
Members:
Iron Man (Jirachi) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 252 Atk/38 Def/220 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Iron Head
- Stealth Rock
- Zen Headbutt
- Trick
Comments: This is my lead. It tricks slow, bulky stuff like hippowdon and lays down rocks. I opted for Zen Headbutt here instead of U-turn for the massive increase in coverage. It 2KOs Infernape and Roserade, activating its sash and will probably cause a flinch at the same time. The one lead I have trouble with is heatran, but Milotic will handle it just fine. The EVs don't provide much bulk, so are there any suggestions concerning them?
Chocobo (Zapdos) @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 HP/220 Def/12 Spd/26 SAtk
Bold nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Substitute
- Roost
- Thunderbolt
- Toxic
Comments: Ah, ye olde subroost Zapdos. As far as I know, I'm the only person on shoddy still using one. Boy is it good. It will cause a lot of people to just leave. Sub protects it from status and toxic to stall. It is my main counter for stall teams in general. It is ev'd to outspeed other base 100's like Celebi and other Zapdos who wish to T-wave or toxic. It provides a nice combo with Milotic, absorbing physical attacks directed at it and subbing when they switch. That also works with the scizors that switch into Tangrowth. They run in fear of heat wave. In reality, T-bold 2KOs anyways.
DDD (Dragonite) (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Inner Focus
EVs: 6 HP/252 Atk/252 SAtk
Brave nature (+Atk, -Spd)
- Draco Meteor
- Substitute
- Focus Punch
- Thunderbolt
Comments: I chose Dragonite to stay with the theme. I used to have Specsmence here but I'd say Dragonite does things like beating Blissey much better. Stategy is: sub on the switch, Focus Punch if it is steel, Draco Meteor if it is Flygon, and T-bolt those pesky water types and Skarm. The sub also prevents those brave (bad pun, I know) Mamoswines and Weaviles from Ice Sharding. Anyway, I chose brave because I do not want to sub before a hit that will break it. It also does not sacrifice Dragonite's awesome bulkiness or offensive stats. This does seem to need wish support or roost though. Any suggestions?
Sapphire (Heracross) (M) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Guts
EVs: 6 HP/252 Atk/252 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Close Combat
- Megahorn
- Stone Edge
- Pursuit
Comments: This is the standard Scarfcross from the old DP days. It just breaks some walls and revenge kills stuff. However, this is one of my two Toxic absorbers, the other one being Jirachi. Heracross also forces CM Celebi and Starmie out rather quickly, for they are a big threat to my team. Hmm. . . I'm not sure I need Pursuit in my last slot. Maybe Facade or Night Slash would fit better.
Vine Buddy (Tangrowth) (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Chlorophyll
EVs: 252 HP/126 Atk/132 Def
Relaxed nature (+Def, -Spd)
- Power Whip
- Synthesis
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Stun Spore
Comments: Awesome wall. It provides paralysis support for the rest of my team. Hidden Power Ice is there instead of Knock Off so I can do something to Salamence and friends. It seems to be stuck sometimes on the offensive steel types and is setup fodder for SubCM Latias. The Ev's seem fine. Vine Buddy survived a +3 Fire Punch from a T-tar and OKOed back with Power Whip. Maybe it should have Stone Edged. . .
I'm Better than Gyara (Milotic) (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Marvel Scale
EVs: 252 HP/252 Def/6 SAtk
Bold nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Hypnosis
- Surf
- Recover
- Ice Beam
Comments: Useage of Milotic dropped after the decrease of Hypnosis accuracy. To me, any chance of crippling an opposing poke is good. I had HP Electric in my fourth slot some time ago to stop the poke mentioned in my name, but then I realized I can't do anything to dragons and that I already have two Gyara counters. Milotic is the poke switch in on revenge killers like Weavile and Scizor. The EV's might need some reconsideration.
Team Comments: My team desperately needs a priority and phazer. I'm not sure who to remove. Dragonite seems like my weakest link however. If I do replace him, it would be preferable that the newcomer is not weak to stealth rock. My team almost always beats stall teams or highly offensive teams with the amount of status (three out of four) and sub (only two) users. Any suggestions?
Threats:
Gyarados: Handled by both Tangrowth and Zapdos. Heracross revenge kills.
Heatran: Milotic, and Heracross venges non timid ones.
Salamence. Milotic forces all forms out. Tangrowth can paralyze. Heracross revenge kills those banded Outrages.
Infernape: Milotic survives a Grass Knot if it is near full health. Hera and Jirachi revenge kills.
Gengar: Milotic survives T-bolts and Herachi revenge kills.
Suicune: Jirachi can Trick it or Heracross plus Zapdos can revenge kill. Tangrowth can 2KO if it lacks Sleep Talk and Ice Beam. Has some trouble.
Electivire: Lol, Tangrowth.
Togekiss: Zapdos
Breloom: Kind of hard. Milotic and Tangrowth might wake up and break the sub before it dies. Then Herachi revenges.
Porygon-Z: Milotic and Heracross.
Weavile: Tangrowth cripples it and Milotic walls it.
Scizor: Zapdos and Milotic.
Tyranitar: Tangrowth handles physical ones and Herachi revenges.
Azelf: Zapdos and Heracross.
Lucario: Zapdos and Jirachi.
Machamp: Zapdos handles it okay and Jirachi can kill if I predict a Stone Edge or Ice punch.
Heracross: Zapdos and Tangrowth provide a defensive combination and Jirachi revenge kills.
Mamoswine: Zapdos outstalls it amazingly, and Herachi revenge kills.
Slaking: Zapdos + Dragonite can set up sub on it. Heracross revenge kills.
Metagross: Tangrowth and Milotic.
Ninjask: Hmm, I have no phazer. . .
Dragonite: Same as Salamence.
Yanmega: Zapdos
Gallade: Tangrowth can OKO with Power Whip. Herachi venges.
Dugtrio: Only one poke on my team is weak to its moves and can't switch out.
Kingdra: Tangrowth stops Dragon Dancers and Jirachi revenge kills through flinches.
Starmie: Tangrowth survives the standard set's Ice Beam and Heracross venges.
Roserade: Jirachi
Ryperior: Milotic + Tangrowth.
Zapdos: Hmmm, I don't know.
Snorlax: Heracross KOs.
Rotoms: Tricky, Heracross handles offensive forms.
Magnezone: Heracross revenge kills.
Glisor: I can catch it with Tangrowth if it passes speed and attack.
Wow, that list was long. I'm leaving out defensive threats because Zapdos handles most of them. Even Aromatherapy Bliss when it is the last poke.
Any weak spots I need to address?
