Introduction:

Ok, this is a team I made with a rather specific goal in mind. To allow the sweep of a very dangerous and powerful pokemon that all who play in the UBER tier know to fear. Kyogre is the beast I chose to make my team around. The goal of this team is to allow Mew to Baton Pass a Rock Polish and Nasty Plot to Kyogre, maybe more than 1 of each if I have the option. Each member of the team helps in its own way to accomplish this goal. Deoxys-E sets-up screens to make it easier to take hits and boost up, foretress sets down and gets rid of entry hazards, Blissey T-waves to slow the opposing team down and heals with Wish, Mew BPs the boosts to Kyogre (or Palkia) for the sweep, and Palkia acts as the back-up sweeper and strong physical attacker. While the concept is very good, in actuality I have had some problems, so I have come to all of you for help. I am open to all suggestions that can benefit my team.

deoxyse.png

Deoxys-E @ Light Clay
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 HP/252 Spd/6 SDef
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Taunt
- Reflect
- Light Screen
- Ice Beam

Description:
The standard DualScreen Deoxys-S. Setting up the two screens helps ensure that the other members of the team will be able to fulfill their roles to the fullest while Taunt stops any opposing attempts to set up. Ice beam is used in order to damage opposing leads and to use it for later against threats such as Rayquaza.

Max speed allows Deoxys to out-speed other leads and prevent being taunted so it can get at least one screen down. Its EVs in HP prevent it from being OHKOed by non-boosted priority moves. No SR or Spikes is added to Deoxys since that role is assigned to the next member of this team.

forretress.png

Forretress (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 176 HP/18 Atk/100 Def/216 SDef
Impish nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Stealth Rock
- Spikes
- Rapid Spin
- Explosion

Description:
Forretress is the SR user of this team Tress’s main role in this team is to set up SR so that it can ruin Sashers. A few layers of spikes can also be set if it is safe and the damage helps the other members of the team. Forretress has a wide array of resistances and Drizzle helps lower its 4x fire weakness as well as the screens if those are set up.

The EVs provided allow it to live after an EQ from a regular Groudon and two Aura Spheres from Mewtwo. It can take hits from both sides of the spectrum, making it a good switch into Choice Draco Meteors if Blissey is taken out. After fulfilling its role of spinning and laying down the residuals, it explodes. Many of the other pokes on this team are mainly geared towards the special attacking side of the spectrum, so exploding can hopefully get rid of walls or pokes who try to set up.

Blissey.bmp

Blissey (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 216 HP/252 Def/40 SDef
Bold nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Wish
- Protect
- Thunder Wave
- Ice Beam

Description:
Blissey is the main special wall and cleric of this team. Thunder Wave is used to cripple incoming threats and it acts as a good sponge to absorb status moves. Wish and Protect allows Blissey to keep itself and the other members of the team healthy.

Bold is chosen over Calm since it allows it to survive Outrages from Mixed Palkias from time to time. Since it already has such high Special Defenses, might as well give it a bit more regular defense.

---
Mew.jpg

Mew @ Lum Berry
Ability: Synchronize
EVs: 252 HP/38 Def/220 SDef
Careful nature (+SDef, -SAtk)
- Taunt
- Rock Polish
- Baton Pass
- Nasty Plot

Description:
Mew is the key supporter in this team. After Deoxys sets up the Dual Screens, either Mew or Tress will come in depending on the other Pokemon. With its already high defenses added with the support of Dual Screens, Mew can live through just about anything except Darkrai’s attacks and explosions.

Unlike most Mew passers, this Mew focuses more on Defenses rather than speed since it needs to get two boosts in, so it needs to be rather bulky. After a Rock Polish, it’s fast enough to taunt any phazers that are switched in and perhaps get in a Nasty Plot. After that, it passes the boosts to the main star of the team, Kyogre.

---
Kyogre.png

Kyogre @ Leftovers
Ability: Drizzle
EVs: 116 HP/148 Spd/244 SAtk
Modest nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Waterfall
- Surf
- Ice Beam
- Thunder

Description:
Kyogre is the main sweeper of this team. It can hit all common pokes in Uber for at least neutral damage and if it is BPed Nasty Plot and Rock Polish from Mew, it will often sweep through whole teams. Waterfall is mixed in since it can 2HKO Blisseys and any Wobbuffets that switch in hoping to get down Mirror Coat will get Waterfall instead.

The EVs provided give Kyogre just enough speed to still be ahead of most Groudons by one point if it has Rock Polish since Groudons Drought messes up the sweeping power of Kyogre. Kyogre is a dangerous threat alone, but with the added boosts from Nasty Plot and Rock Polish, it is one of the most threatening sweepers in Ubers lacking only in priority moves.

---
Palkia.png

Palkia @ Lustrous Orb
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 4 HP/252 Atk/252 Spd
Naughty nature (+Atk, -SDef)
- Dragon Claw
- Earthquake
- Aqua Tail
- Spacial Rend

Description:
Palkia is the physical attacker of this team. Since most counters to Palkia come in expecting special attacks, a large chunk of their HP is taken off, if not all of it, when they switch into Dragon Claw or Aqua Tail. Aqua Tail in the rain will be able to OHKO Blissey. Even without any EVs invested, Palkia’s special attack is nothing to scoff at so Spacial Rend can be used to take out those with low Sp. Def. Earthquake is used to take out the likes of Dialga.

Having only a 2x Dragon weakness and excellent STAB attacks, Palkia is a great alternative to Baton Pass to if Kyogre is not a choice.

Rate/Hate/Steal!

Ok Rasp, this is a nice team here. I just have a few little things to point out. On Forretress, use Toxic Spikes instead of regular Spikes. It may seem odd to do this in Ubers, but with all the enemy Kyogre running around in there its always nice to cripple them once in a while. Toxic Spikes wear down walls so you don't have to spend 5 minutes trying to kill them. I'm a little confused as to why Waterfall on Kyogre, because your passing Rock Polishes, you could grant yourself extra power with Water Spout.

Hope I helped.

I changed spikes to toxic spikes as you suggested, at the time when I first tested it things like Dialga and flying/types where immune to them, but since I switched to toxic spikes I have an easier time dealing with walls by softening them up thanks to TS and with screens up I can still usually get two stacks of them down. Waterfall is on Kyorge because if somehow I am unable to BP to it and I face a threat like Blissey who probably has thunder-wave, but as you said I am BPing Rock polish to Kyogre and with STAB+rain I can hit extremely so I plan to switch waterfall for Water Spout!.
~Thnx for the helpful rate!=p

"The EVs provided give Kyogre just enough speed to still be ahead of most Groudons by one point if it has Rock Polish since Groudons Drought messes up the sweeping power of Kyogre."

If the Drought comes up on Kyogre either you'll switch out(losing the RP+NP) giving Groudon an opportunity to do some damage. Maybe you should add something in to abuse Drought?

I thought about this. Kyorge still hits Groudon pretty hard with surf in case it takes damage on the switch and dwindling power Water Spout, after being weakened I can finish it off with Palika's attacks, there isn't really a way of to 100% handle Groudon without getting rid of a supporter and they all play a sufficient role in keeping my mew alive to carry out the sweep. I could replace or change Palkia as it was mainly there to counter walls like Bliss. If you have a suggestion of what I should use/change I am more then opened to the advice.

Well Kingdra is a great replacement for Palkia. With 95 Base for Atk and Sp. Atk, you can use it for breaking down walls. It also has Swift Swim which is an added bonus. Here's the set:

Kingdra @ Life Orb
Ability: Swift Swim
Lonely Nature
EVs: 198 Atk / 136 SpA / 176 Spe
-Dragon Dance
-Outrage
-Waterfall
-Draco Meteor

Ok I will make the change and then test it on ladder=P

Hey, after reading the team and everyone's posts I thought of a some thing you could do for the team.

Instead of the mixed attacker (rain) set you are currently using on Palkia, try out the Dual Weather set in case Groudon ruins your rain. Here is the set I was thinking of.

Palkia @ Life Orb/Lustrous Orb
Hasty
EVs: 200 SpA, 56 Atk, 252 Spe
-Spacial Rend
-Thunder/Outrage
-Fire Blast
-Aqua Tail/Surf

This set will allow you to abuse both weathers, and have something a little stronger than Kingdra that maintains the same speed in Rain or Shine, plus with (depending on your move choices) a partly special moveset, it can use rock polish/NP well.

I just tested this and ran a few calcs and found this to be much better and sturdier then kingdra overall and now being able to abuse both the main weather types in ubers, it gives me more variety on my move selection. Thnx for the rate Toxic!

Just a minor nitpick, but why not just put Stealth Rock over Ice Beam on the Deoxys-E lead? Although extremely situational, why would you want your sweeper to lose to a random Focus Sash Pokemon (think something like non-lead Deoxys-A). Might as well just get SR out as fast as possible as opposed to relying on Forretress who will not always switch-in for free. Feel free to add Toxic Spikes in SR's place on Forretress, who knows it might be useful against hyper-offensive teams in the end.

The team concept cannot be improved on as it's just simple Baton Passing which obviously has its merits, and also its issues. The only other piece of advice I can give is to change Palkia for Kingdra, as someone else suggested. In case Kyogre does go down to some odd twist of fate (haha), you have something that is possibly even more dangerous. Or, you could always pass boosts to Kingdra and proceed to KO the majority of the Uber metagame. Choice is yours, but IMO Kingdra is more dangerous without the rain and with the rain in Ubers than your current Palkia set.

Good luck.

Deoxys-A was actually the prime reason why I chose ib over sr. I mean you are right about how situational focus sash is, but I honestly don't think anything else might have focus sash other than the Deoxys... ever <.<

I'll also test out Kingdra and Palkia to see things out.

You could try the Mixed set of Palkia as it will go incredibly well with SpecsKyo. With the supports MixKia will break a lot of things. OR what I would do is have ScarfChomp as the revenge killer in this team. ScarfChomp is, in my opinion, one of the best (if not the best) revenge killers we have in this game. Though he will not support SpecsKyo as much as MixKia does.

When Baton Passing, you should put up Dual Screens right before sending in your Baton Passer. Forretress really does not benefit all that much from having Dual Screens. Also, on your Screener, I would suggest having a move that could ensure your passer comes in safely. Personally, I would use Forretress as a lead, with a Lum Berry, which pretty much ensures Stealth Rock, thus ruining sashers. Then, explode and send in a Mewtwo, Dual Screen and Selfdestruct. Then of course, Mew comes in, sets up, passes, and Kyogre sweeps.

I'll try out the mixed Palkia because it does sound pretty promising. Also the same with the dual screen Mewtwo... but I really don't think a Forry lead can do well because it can be one shotted by like half of the common leads =[
