Intro: This team is based around getting a Raikou sweep with the help of Toxic Spikes.

dpmfa407.png

Roserade (M) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 6 HP/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Toxic Spikes
- Sleep Powder
- Leaf Storm
- Hidden Power [Fire]

I wanted a lead that can reliably lay down toxic spikes so Raikou can sweep easier. So my choices were then Forretress and Roserade. I choose Roserade since it's more offensive and that i needed grass move for my team. HP fire was chosen to help deal with metagross, bronzong, other roserade leads, and Scizor switch ins. Leaf storm was chosen over Grass Knot to deal beat Azelf leads.

Synergy: Fire attacks go to Latias. Bug attacks go to Gengar. Psychic attacks go to Lucario. Takes water attacks and grass attacks.

what i do against other leads...
1. Metagross: Sleep it and set up toxic spikes
2. Azelf: Sleep it and then try to kill him off with Lead storm since Azelf can be a problem.
3. Jirachi: Switch to Gliscor
4. Swampert: Sleep it hoping they switch. Then start spiking
5. Aerodactyl: sleep it. if get taunted switch to Gliscor.
6. Infernape: Try to sleep it. If they use fake out i switch to Latias
7. Hippowdon: Sleep it. Set up spikes.
8. Bronzong: Sleep then set up spikes.
9. Ninjask: Switch to Raikou and start sub cming
10. Tyranitar: Sleep it hoping it doesn't have lum berry.

Lucario (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Inner Focus
EVs: 252 Atk/6 Def/252 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Close Combat
- Crunch
- Extremespeed
- Swords Dance

Lucario was chosen since I need a physical sweeper. Also he works well with pursuit bait latias to get a free Sd in and hopefully sweep. I've been thinking about changing it to a Jolly Ice punch version to help deal with Mamoswine that can be a ass to my team if i dont predict correctly. Crunch was chosen over Ice punch and stone edge to help deal with Rotom-a.

Synergy: Ground attacks go to Gliscor or Latias. Fire goes to Latias. Fighting goes to Gengar, latias, or Gliscor. He takes dragon, dark, ghost, and psychic attacks.
---
dpmfa094.png

Gengar (M) @ Expert Belt
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 100 Atk/252 Spd/156 SAtk
Naive nature (+Spd, -SDef)
- Substitute
- Focus Punch
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Shadow Ball

Gengar is my spin blocker so people can't spin away my toxic spikes. He also helps break down stall since most people don't have a fucking clue what moveset im running. Gengar is also another Blissey and Ttar lure to help set up the Raikou sweep. I choose naive nature over hasty since i wanted him to take physical moves better.

Synergy: Dark, ghost, psychic attacks goes to Lucario. He takes ground, fighting, and bug attacks.
---
dpffa380.png

Latias (F) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 6 HP/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Dragon Pulse
- Surf
- Thunderbolt
- Trick
---

latias is my revenge killer to stop Pokemon like Gyarados and mence in check. Latias also helps lure out Blissey who i can then trick scarf onto it.
I choose to max out speed since i still want it to get into a speed tie with other latias' if i trick the scarf off. Dragon Pulse was chosen over draco meteor since I really don't like the sp atk drop of it.

Synergy: Ghost, dark, ice, and dragon attacks go to Lucario. Takes Ground, Fire, and Eletric attacks.

dpmfa472.png

Gliscor (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Hyper Cutter
EVs: 42 HP/252 Atk/216 Spd
Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Stealth Rock
- Roost
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge

Gliscor was chosen for a few reasons. I need to stop Lucario and Tyranitar and i needed stealth rocks. Evs allow him to outspeed jolly lucario.
The moveset is to make Gliscor more of an offensive threat while still dealing with pokes that it should beat. Stone Edge is for Zapdos and Gyarados switch ins.

Synergy: Ice attacks go to Lucario. Water goes to Raikou and Roserade. Takes Ground, Fighting, Electric and Rock attacks.
---
dpmfa243.png

Raikou @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 6 HP/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Calm Mind
- Thunderbolt
- Substitute
- Hidden Power [Grass]

This is the star of the show. Basically it comes in once Blissey is weakened and Scarf Pokemon are dead, sets up a sub, and then start cming. I choose HP Grass over HP ice since helps beat Ttar who can be a bitch to my team.

Synergy: Ground Attacks go to Gengar, Latias, and Gengar. Takes Water, Flying, Electric, and Steel attacks.

choose Raikou since it's an underrated threat.

I noticed the team was kinda weak to Ttar and Lucario so I added Gliscor.

Then I added Latias to cover my mence and gyarados weakness and to use the pursuit -> lucario thing.

Added Roserade to give me Toxic spikes support and help deal with Swampert.

Closing Statement: Raikou is a sex panther.

Cool, another Raikou team.

First of all, if Raikou is your main sweeper, HP Grass isn't great of an option. HP Ice and Shadow Ball are much better. HP Ice helps you get amazing type coverage while Shadow Ball hits stuff like Latias and Celebi.

You seem to have nothing to sponge the Ice attacks aimed at Gliscor, Roserade, and Latias. Lucario is way to frail to be taking Ice attacks. For this reason, I think you can really benefit from using another Steel type. Any steel type will do for you, I think Heatran can fit well into your team, replacing Lucario or someone else. Here is the set I recommend using.

Heatran@ Shuca Berry/Life Orb
Flash Fire
Naive nature (+Speed, -Sp. Defense)
4 HP/252 Sp. Attack/252 Speed

Stealth Rock
Fire Blast
Earth Power
Explosion/Taunt

This set will let you set up SR. The last slot is based on preference, Explosion can get by Blissey while Taunt works well on any team to stop CroCune. For the item, Shuca Berry is the preferred choice.

Now, you can replace Gliscor with one of the physical attackers of OU, with Heracross or Breloom being the best. Both of them are able to get through Raikou's counters(Blissey, Snorlax, Lanturn). Both of them counter Lucario well and Tyranitar well. Breloom will add another Ice weakness, though.

Hope I helped, and Good Luck.

What's up macle? I'm gonna rate your team now.

As I look at your team as a whole, I notice that you have quite a bit of problems with Gyarados, since Latias is pretty much your best answer to it, and I won't rely on that due to the fact that it's Pursuit weak and Choiced, meaning it might not have a chance to live long enough to stop a late-game Gyarados sweep.

To fix this problem, you might have to do a bit of switching around with Pokemon, and this is where I think Jirachi can make a great addition to your team. First of all, it's an excellent Pokemon due to the fact that it can revenge-kill Gyarados, Lucario, and Salamence, which are pretty dominant in OU (not to mention that DDMence can put the hurt on your team). So, I suggest you try the Scarf set that looks like this:

Jirachi @ Choice Scarf | Jolly
6 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
~Iron Head
~ThunderPunch
~Fire Punch
~U-turn / Trick

Jirachi still allows you to cripple things with Trick, but it still maintains the ability to help check major threats. It's also no Pursuit weak which is just an added bonus. Max Speed is used to ensure that Jirachi will always tie with a +Speed natured Salamence after a Dragon Dance.

Now if you put in Jirachi instead of Latias, that obviously leaves you with a pretty big Fire weakness, as you won't be able to switch in anything without being hit super effectively or neutrally. So, I do have a suggestion that you may try out, and that would be Snorlax.

Snorlax @ Leftovers | Adamant
156 HP / 252 Atk / 100 Def
~Body Slam / Return
~Earthquake
~Pursuit / Crunch
~Fire Punch / Selfdestruct

Now, I really don't know where who you would replace for Snorlax, possibly Lucario as Snorlax is a great Pokemon to fire out powerful physical attacks. Snorlax's moveset is pretty straightforward. Since you have Toxic Spikes set up, Return will probably be used instead since the paralysis that Body Slam grants won't happen and Earthquake is excellent at destroying and other Pokemon like Tyranitar and Metagross. Pursuit / Crunch and Fire Punch / Selfdestruct are a combo. If you choose Pursuit, go with Fire Punch, if you choose Crunch, go with Selfdestruct (illegal move combinations). Snorlax can trap and kill many threats like Latias, Starmie, and Rotom with Pursuit, but Crunch does a number to Pokemon like Cresselia or Rotom-A, even if you are burnt by its Will-O-Wisp. Lastly, Fire Punch lets you destroy incoming Scizor switch-ins, but Selfdestruct destroys a ton of things and bring down things like Cresselia, Gyarados, and Salamence. The EV spread gives Snorlax the physical bulk it needs to take Scizor's U-turn and such.

That's all I can really think of right now. Hope I helped, good luck!

Hi Macle,

You seem to have a pretty nice team here, centering around Raikou. I have a few things I want to say that I think can make the team a little better.

Roserade- Ok, I think you really need a Roserade here. TSpikes really help wear down Raikou's few counters, so I believe we should keep TSpikes Roserade as your lead. However, i think the set should look more like this.

Roserade @ Focus Sash
Timid
Natural Cure
80 HP/176 Sp.A/252 Speed

Sleep Powder
Toxic Spikes
Leaf Storm
HP Ground

Ok, so I made a few changes. 80 HP Evs allow you to avoid being 2HKO'd by standard LeadGross Bullet Punch, a little insurance measure just in case you miss the Sleep Powder. I also recommend HP Ground over HP Fire. You can deal with Scizor's various moves quite easily with your team (especially using Gliscor). However, should a Heatran arise, you are essentially forced to go to Latias, who is really quite good at becoming pursuit bait for an opposing Metagross, Scizor, or Tyranitar. HP Ground will hopefully rid you of Heatran early, and allow you to keep Latias safe late into the game.

Lucario- I think you would benefit from a Choice Band Scizor here. Remember, when you are running this kind of a team (tspikes ---> sweeper), it is not always the best idea to overload your team with high powered sweepers. You goal should be to keep things under control as the opponent is whittled away until finally your set up sweeper (in your case Raikou), can finally go for the sweep. CB Scizor, while common, is so useful for you in checking an enormous amount of the metagame, and few if any threats are going to blow past the checking combination of CB Scizor/ScarfLatias. This allows you to keep your team from being swept as you prepare to sweep yourself. Here is the set:

Scizor @ Choice Band
Adamant
Technician
248 HP/252 Attack/8 Speed

Bullet Punch
U Turn
SuperPower
Pursuit

Gengar- Ok this ties into my last point. Gengar is much too frail and offensive to compliment your team. The synergy/typing is welcome, which is why I suggest a defensive Rotom-A. Gengar was being used as a Blissey beater on your team, and Rotom can do that just as effectively with Toxic Spikes on the field. Blissey's weak attacks will not be able to touch you under your substitute as the poison drains Blisseys health quickly. Thunderbolt and Shadow Ball are both STAB and compliment each other nicely, and Will O Wisp can be used on any pokemon that is immune to TSpikes, limiting the amount of turns they can survive immensely. Here is the set:

Rotom-A @ Leftovers
Timid
252 HP/68 Def/188 Speed

Substitute
Thunderbolt
Shadow Ball
Will O Wisp

Evs allow you to outspeed and burn Adamant Lucario, a nice back up plan should Gliscor be weakened. Having both Gliscor and Rotom on the same team lessens the countering roles they must fulfill, so both can stay in decent health.

On the rest of the team I have nothing to say. Good Luck, and watch out for Heatran!

mooooocle...nice team ya got there! raikou is super underrated; luckily i've been seeing him more and more in rmts. this has a lot of components of a good raikou team, and it looks like yoshi and justin's rmt, proving that a raikou team should be like yours. its not perfect, obviously, so im going to help it be better. first thing i see that i dont like is that gengar set. focus punch is just too weak, i really like focus MISS. the trade off between power and accuracy isnt big-focus blast can be used when hes not behind a sub, so you dont get auto killed by ttar if you have no sub up. focus punch hits blissey harder, and toxic spikes + sub totally beats her anyway...focus blast is the better option.

ok next i dont like that raikou set. really it doesnt hit hard enough; the type coverage is fine, but the power is just such a letdown. 115 spatk is good and all, but there is a better set for raikou in ou-life orb. lo kou hits tremendously hard, and is a lot bulkier than jolteon with calm mind + a nice hp and sdef. his satk is also better than jolt's by 5 base points. my personal set hits every pokemon in ou for neutral damage, and can ohko quite a few 'checks' and 'counters' including heatran, magnezone, scizor, latias, rotom, tyranitar are all ohkoed after a boost, and they cant ohko him in return (factoring in SR both ways). lo thunderbolt is a monster, even when it isnt boosted. the only thing you fail to beat is pert, but you have tspikes + rocks, and you can easily threaten him and dent him with gar.

Raikou @ Life Orb
Timid 252 SAtk / 252 Spe / 4 Def
- Calm Mind
- Thunderbolt
- Shadow Ball
- Hidden Power [Fighting]

ok next i dont like gliscor on your team. i mean, yea it beats lucario and tyranitar, but what else does it do? set up rocks? i think there's something that could do that better than gliscor. a speedy jirachi can do that, as well as checking a bunch of threats with 60% flinch + 60% paralysis. body slam passes around some nice paralysis, and he can also lure out stuff like rotom who is set up bait for raikou. in fact, a lot of things that come in on jirachi hate dealing with raikou, and the same is true the other way around. he is also a nice lucario check if gengar bites the dust early on, and gives an awesome rock resist. he's actually pretty bulky as well, 100/100/100 defenses are seriously underrated. i think pumping his speed to reach 280, maxing out hp, and throwing the rest into sdef with a careful nature would be your best option-latias is a pretty big bitch, and that helps out a BUNCH with taking draco meteors and shit.

jirachi @ leftovers
careful 176 spe / 252 hp / 80 sdef

~ body slam
~ iron head
~ stealth rock
~ fire punch

gl moocle, hope i helped ya!!!!!!!!!
