Hey there Smogon Goers I just want to present my team to you all and see if you guys can help me find a good pokemon to help me counter a problem pokemon i've been facing. Before you guys offer a replacement or me team please know that I do not like to use Sweepers so please only recommend walls only no sweepers. Thanks!
Swampert is still a very effective lead in my eyes. Swampert isn't really forced to switch out by many leads because not many carry a Grass type attack to OHKO Swampert. That being said Swampert almost always gets Stealthrocks off, which is very important to my team because my main strategy is to make my opponent switch around and take entry hazard damage. Hydro Pump is my main Special Attack as 180 power from 219 SpA will deal a good amount of damage. Earthquake is for defensively weak walls and sweepers such as Vaporeons, Blisseys, Tyranitars, and Lucarios. Ice Beam is to deal with pesky dragons such as Flygons, Salamences, Dragonites and the pesky Gliscors. This Swampert is also good to keep around for a late game wall, so I typically try to make sure he is always ready to be switched in.
This is my own personal set I made for Latias specifically made for Stall Teams. Latias' great typing, Defense stat and Special Defense stat make her one of the toughest pokemon to beat. The EVs given for this set give her 364 HP 250 Def and 358 SpD. This provides Latias the chance of completely walling special sweepers and the chance to take powerful physical attacks and still survive enough to kill with a move or simply scout out my opponents moveset. Just to show you how bulky Latias is I'll show you some damage calculations to show you what she can handle.
Latias vs Gengar Timid @ Life orb set, Shadow Ball ---> ~264HP
Latias vs Scizor Adamant @ Choice Band set, Bullet Punch ---> ~178HP
Latias vs (Special) Mixape @ Life orb set, Hidden Power ice ---> ~130HP
Latias vs Metagross Adamant @ Leftovers set, Meteor Mash ---> ~204HP
Latias vs Heatran Modest @ Choice Scarf set, Dragon Pulse ---> ~166HP
Latias vs Lucario Adamant @ Life Orb set, Crunch ---> ~244HP
This is the Jirachi I have used for almost every team I've ever used. This pokemon I so good because he is an excellent counter to an Outragin Salamence or Outraging Flygon. This guy cripples sweepers with Body Slams Paralysis and abusing his ability with Iron Heads flinch rate to stall a pokemon till defeat. Jirachi also helps with healing my pokemon on my team who don't have Recovery moves with Wish. This pokemon is so helpful in battles that I don't really want to replace him, his wish support and survivability is to vital to let go.
This is my Rapid Spin blocker Rotom-C. I only picked his Cut form because I think it looks cooler then his other forms. I decided to try out Pain Split which it gets from HGSS over Rest and Sleep Talk because I wanted another move to attack Zapdos and Ground type pokemon. Will-O-Wisp is for physical sweepers. Pain Split hasn't really been used yet because Rotoms Defenses are so bulky Leftovers restores most HP I lose from getting hit.
For my team I decided that I needed a pokemon to counter Gengars, so I looked at Umbreon. 130 base Special Defense gives umbreon a huge resistance special attacks. My Ev set gives Umbreon 270Def and 380 SpD, which means that a Timid Life Orb Focus Blast from Gengar does ~247HP Damage meaning I can Payback easily for the OHKO. I decided to give Umbreon curse so that I can make home physicaly bulky as well as specially bulky. Next I had a choice between Wish and Protect or Moonlight for healing. Seeing as how Jirachi already give Wish support so I though my Umbreon should give Status Support so Moonlight seemed more appealing.
Skarmory isn't the most glamerous pokemon to use, but he gets the job done. I really hate Skarmorys as well as Blisseys because I feel that only noobs need to use the cheapest walls in the metagame. But like I said he gets the job done. Shed shell is for Magnezones, Leftovers recovery hasn't really been needed because I can usually get Spikes up as my opponent switches. Brave Bird does give recoil.... But the Recoil doesn't hurt to bad ass Skarmory is my best answer to Lucarios and I can land a clean OHKO after taking a +1 Swords Dance Close Combat from a Life orb Lucario. Roost is obvious since I don't have Leftovers recovery. Spikes is my second Hazard that helps stall my opponents pokemon but I don't always try to hard to get spikes up. Whirlwind is for Phazing, this pokemon is pretty much considered my Physical phaser and Latias is my Special Phaser.
So that's my Stall team please rate guys and please let me know if you see a replacemt I should use to help counter my weak points. Thanks!
