Team Stall and Wall makes you fall. (OU Stall RMT)

Hey there Smogon Goers I just want to present my team to you all and see if you guys can help me find a good pokemon to help me counter a problem pokemon i've been facing. Before you guys offer a replacement or me team please know that I do not like to use Sweepers so please only recommend walls only no sweepers. Thanks!

TEAM AT A GLANCE:

IN DEPTH LOOK:

swampert-2.png

Type: WATET/GROUND
Ability: Torrent
Item: Leftovers
Nature: Relaxed (+Def, -Spe)
EVs: 240HP/216Def/52SpA
Moveset:
~Stealth Rock
~Hydro Pump
~Ice Beam
~Earthquake

Swampert is still a very effective lead in my eyes. Swampert isn't really forced to switch out by many leads because not many carry a Grass type attack to OHKO Swampert. That being said Swampert almost always gets Stealthrocks off, which is very important to my team because my main strategy is to make my opponent switch around and take entry hazard damage. Hydro Pump is my main Special Attack as 180 power from 219 SpA will deal a good amount of damage. Earthquake is for defensively weak walls and sweepers such as Vaporeons, Blisseys, Tyranitars, and Lucarios. Ice Beam is to deal with pesky dragons such as Flygons, Salamences, Dragonites and the pesky Gliscors. This Swampert is also good to keep around for a late game wall, so I typically try to make sure he is always ready to be switched in.

LATIAS
latias.png

Type: PSYCHIC/DRAGON
Ability: Levitate
Item: Leftovers
Nature: Calm (+SpD, -Atk)
EVs: 252HP/136Def/120SpD
Moveset:
~Dragon Pulse
~Hidden Power [FIRE]
~Recover
~Roar

This is my own personal set I made for Latias specifically made for Stall Teams. Latias' great typing, Defense stat and Special Defense stat make her one of the toughest pokemon to beat. The EVs given for this set give her 364 HP 250 Def and 358 SpD. This provides Latias the chance of completely walling special sweepers and the chance to take powerful physical attacks and still survive enough to kill with a move or simply scout out my opponents moveset. Just to show you how bulky Latias is I'll show you some damage calculations to show you what she can handle.

Latias vs Gengar Timid @ Life orb set, Shadow Ball ---> ~264HP
Latias vs Scizor Adamant @ Choice Band set, Bullet Punch ---> ~178HP
Latias vs (Special) Mixape @ Life orb set, Hidden Power ice ---> ~130HP
Latias vs Metagross Adamant @ Leftovers set, Meteor Mash ---> ~204HP
Latias vs Heatran Modest @ Choice Scarf set, Dragon Pulse ---> ~166HP
Latias vs Lucario Adamant @ Life Orb set, Crunch ---> ~244HP

JIRACHI
jirachi-1.png

Type: STEEL/PSYCHIC
Ability: Serene Grace
Item: Leftovers
Nature: Impish (+Def, -SpA)
EVs: 240HP/160Def/76SpD/32Spe
Moveset:
~Body Slam
~Iron Head
~Wish
~U-Turn

This is the Jirachi I have used for almost every team I've ever used. This pokemon I so good because he is an excellent counter to an Outragin Salamence or Outraging Flygon. This guy cripples sweepers with Body Slams Paralysis and abusing his ability with Iron Heads flinch rate to stall a pokemon till defeat. Jirachi also helps with healing my pokemon on my team who don't have Recovery moves with Wish. This pokemon is so helpful in battles that I don't really want to replace him, his wish support and survivability is to vital to let go.

ROTOM-C
1264782925.png

Type: ELETRIC/GHOST
Ability: Levitate
Item: Leftovers
Nature: Bold (+Def, -Atk)
EVs: 252HP/168Def/88SpD
Moveset:
~Thunderbolt
~Shadow Ball
~Will-O-Wisp
~Pain Split

This is my Rapid Spin blocker Rotom-C. I only picked his Cut form because I think it looks cooler then his other forms. I decided to try out Pain Split which it gets from HGSS over Rest and Sleep Talk because I wanted another move to attack Zapdos and Ground type pokemon. Will-O-Wisp is for physical sweepers. Pain Split hasn't really been used yet because Rotoms Defenses are so bulky Leftovers restores most HP I lose from getting hit.

UMBREON
1264782537.png

Type: DARK
Ability: Synchronize
Item: Leftovers
Nature: Careful (+SpD, -SpA)
EVs:252HP/56Def/200SpD
Moveset:
~ Payback
~ Curse
~ Moonlight
~ Heal Bell

For my team I decided that I needed a pokemon to counter Gengars, so I looked at Umbreon. 130 base Special Defense gives umbreon a huge resistance special attacks. My Ev set gives Umbreon 270Def and 380 SpD, which means that a Timid Life Orb Focus Blast from Gengar does ~247HP Damage meaning I can Payback easily for the OHKO. I decided to give Umbreon curse so that I can make home physicaly bulky as well as specially bulky. Next I had a choice between Wish and Protect or Moonlight for healing. Seeing as how Jirachi already give Wish support so I though my Umbreon should give Status Support so Moonlight seemed more appealing.

SKARMORY
1264782750.png

Type: STEEL/FLYING
Ability: Keen Eye
Item: Shed Shell
Nature: Impish (+Def, -SpA)
EVs: 252HP/64Atk/192Def
Moveset:
~ Brave Bird
~ Roost
~ Spikes
~ Whirlwind

Skarmory isn't the most glamerous pokemon to use, but he gets the job done. I really hate Skarmorys as well as Blisseys because I feel that only noobs need to use the cheapest walls in the metagame. But like I said he gets the job done. Shed shell is for Magnezones, Leftovers recovery hasn't really been needed because I can usually get Spikes up as my opponent switches. Brave Bird does give recoil.... But the Recoil doesn't hurt to bad ass Skarmory is my best answer to Lucarios and I can land a clean OHKO after taking a +1 Swords Dance Close Combat from a Life orb Lucario. Roost is obvious since I don't have Leftovers recovery. Spikes is my second Hazard that helps stall my opponents pokemon but I don't always try to hard to get spikes up. Whirlwind is for Phazing, this pokemon is pretty much considered my Physical phaser and Latias is my Special Phaser.

So that's my Stall team please rate guys and please let me know if you see a replacemt I should use to help counter my weak points. Thanks!

Ex-SOLDIER

Just a few notes on the team itself:
Type: WATER/GROUND
Ability: Torrent
Item: Leftovers
Nature: Relaxed (+Def, -Spe)
EVs: 240HP/216Def/52SpA
Moveset:
~Stealth Rock
~Hydro Pump
~Ice Beam
~Earthquake

I suggest that you use the standard EV's for a lead swampert. What you have can work, but I still believe that the 252 HP/252 DEF/ 6 SPA set would work just as well. Also, have you considered using Roar over either Ice Beam or Earthquake?

ROTOM-C

Type: ELETRIC/GHOST
Ability: Levitate
Item: Leftovers
Nature: Bold (+Def, -Atk)
EVs: 252HP/168Def/88SpD
Moveset:
~Thunderbolt
~Shadow Ball
~Will-O-Wisp
~Pain Split

I only picked his Cut form because I think it looks cooler then his other forms. I hope this is not the only reason why you use it. I actually think this team is better served by using a Rotom-H here. The EV's would be the same, but instead of Pain Split, I suggest the use of Overheat (when going with Rotom-H).

UMBREON

Type: DARK
Ability: Synchronize
Item: Leftovers
Nature: Careful (+SpD, -SpA)
EVs:252HP/56Def/200SpD
Moveset:
~ Payback
~ Curse
~ Moonlight
~ Heal Bell

I feel that Blissey is needed here. She is invaluable at stopping special sweepers in their tracks.
Blissey @ Leftovers
Calm Nature
252 HP/252 DEF/ 6 SPD
-Softboiled
-Seismic Toss
-Toxic
-Flamethrower/Ice Beam
Flamethrower or Ice Beam changes depending on what you want to hit. Flamethrower for Scizor and Ice Beam for Dragons. I suggest using Ice Beam since many Pokemon here would have a problem with Dragon-Type Pokemon.

SKARMORY

Type: STEEL/FLYING
Ability: Keen Eye
Item: Shed Shell
Nature: Impish (+Def, -SpA)
EVs: 252HP/64Atk/192Def
Moveset:
~ Brave Bird
~ Roost
~ Spikes
~ Whirlwind

I really hate Skarmorys as well as Blisseys because I feel that only noobs need to use the cheapest walls in the metagame. What? They're not cheap for starters. Also, if you don't like Skarmory that much, then I suggest the use of Forretress.
Forretress @ Leftovers / Shed Shell
Impish Nature
252 HP / 44 Atk / 212 SpD
-Spikes/Toxic Spikes
-Payback
-Rapid Spin
-Explosion / Earthquake
Specially defensive Forretress takes quite a bit to knock off, apart from SE moves.

In general, your team should have a Rapid Spinner. If you decide to use Skarmory and not Forretress, then I suggest that you use Tentacruel over Jirachi (Providing you use Skarmbliss).
Tentacruel @ Leftovers (Liquid Ooze Ability)
Calm Nature
252 HP / 120 Def / 136 SpD
-Surf
-Ice Beam / HP Electric
-Toxic Spikes
-Rapid Spin
You will be switching quite a bit with a stall team, so keeping your side free of entry hazards is very beneficial.

I'm not that good with stall teams. This is a solid team.

You have a DD Mence weak. I think you should throw a Porygon 2 in somewhere or run the standard Choice Scarf Latias. Your only chance now is switch Jirachi or Skarm in on the second Outrage, which may work out fine for you.

Srry for the short rate, but I'm at school.

Your team is quite solid from a stalling perspective, so good job on that. Just some basic things to address and you can decide for yourself what you wanna do.

I dunno why you're using Hydro Pump over Surf, I doubt it really matters in terms of KO'ing leads (or 2HKO'ing). Surf will probably be better in the long run, as misses would matter since Swampert is like the glue of the team. Consider Protect in this slot as well to scout leads like Heatran's HP Grass and Azelf's Explosion.

Rotom wants Rest. Pain Split is useless on a non-Substitute Rotom, and Rest will prevent something like Scizor from constantly U-Turning on your team for little residual damage. Note that Rest also helps immensely against Gyarados, who will probably sweep your team if it flinches Rotom (LO variants anyway hit Skarmory hard as well).

I don't see what Umbreon is doing that something like Blissey can't do. Blissey has a better Special Defensive stat, can also Aromatherapy status away, and is generally a better choice on a stall team. Umbreon cannot switch into two consecutive Focus Blasts, whereas Blissey can. If Umbreon dies, Gengar will almost surely sweep your team. You cannot rely on Jirachi either because its like necessary to stop Latias and other special attackers. Use Blissey please, it remedies a lot of your problems on the special side.

Ok, your Latias set is fine, the spread is bad however. If Infernape is a physical variant, it will definitely sweep your team. Latias needs 252 speed EV's to beat Infernape, and at least tie Gengar if something else goes wrong. You can then split the rest of the EV's in Defense and HP, or just max out HP like most spreads on a stall team.

Final thing is to consider moving a lot of those Attack EV's on Skarmory to Speed. Lots and lots of Skarmory nowadays are running a lot of speed to Taunt things galore. Getting the heads up and an extra layer out before being Taunted might be useful in the long run. Just more food for thought.

Haha well to everyone who wants me to use blissey, I thought about using her but I hate her and I feel Umbreon has better support for physical and special attacks so I put him on my team instead of blissey.

I basically agree with everything ToF said but if you do want to avoid blissey, i suggest you at least change something to help against Gengar. You could even run a SpD Drapion over Umbreon, who adds Toxic Spikes support for your team and KOes Gengar with Crunch.

Drapion @ Leftovers
Careful nature (+SpD, -SpA)
252 HP / 12 Atk / 244 SpD
Battle Armor
-Crunch
-Toxic Spikes
-Rest
-Sleep Talk

Drapion also absorbs Toxic Spikes, which helps Swampert wall things like Tyranitar and Salamence. The 12 Atk allows for an OHKO verse Gengar most of the time. You do lose the Heal Bell support, however.

I still advocate Blissey, though.

In addition, this team loses to last poke Crocune, so you may want to run Trick somewhere on Jirachi or Rotom. I'm not sure how your Umbreon fares against CurseTar, CursePert, and CurseLax one-on-one, but if Umbreon does lose that match up then Trick will help there as well.

happy 500th post to me as well ^_^

first thing first, Latias is in Ubers, so you will have to remove her for something else... perhaps Blissey? (yes, I heard you don't like SkarmBliss, but it really does work as a special wall)

lastly, I would replace Umbreon's Moonlight with Wish. That way you can heal partners by switching out...
