Team Thunder Cat!

TEAM THUNDERCAT

My First team created for Shoddy Battle. Created in the usual manner in which I create teams, coming from brainsorming in class during boring lectures, while riding my bike, while on the way to school.... ect. So I want to know... hot, or not? If its total crap, say so, but please add some suggestions if you criticize.

Spritomb@Lefties
Careful
Pressure
252 hp/ 140 attack/ 116 sp.def

Hypnosis
Sucker Punch
Pain Split
Pursuit

Leading Tomb. I choose Hypnosis over WoW because It shuts things down completely, allowing me to switch in something saftely for setup, stopping BRs (in some situations) and crippling Pokes tomb can't damage much otherwise. Counters ScarfGar nicely as well, and since I plan on him stying alive for a while longer, he can block rapid spin and predict dark/normal/ghost attacks later on to come in without fear.

Raikou@Leftovers
Timid
Pressure
64 hp/ 96 sp.atk/ 96 sp.def/ 252 spd

Calm Mind
Subsitute
T-Bolt
Hp Ice

THUNDER CATS, HOOO! The big Thunder Tiger (not a walrus!) is a dangerous threat that often often comes as unexcpected. Once he sets up, he can impossible to bring down. I sort of built some of this team around bringing down his counters. (Blissey, faster psysical sweepers)

Foretress@Leftovers
Relaxed
Sturdy
252 hp/ 162 def/ 96 atk

Spikes
Rapid spin
EQ
Gyro Ball

Support and utilty- sets spikes and spins. EQ is for Magnezone, Gyro ball is for fast sweepers.

Garchomp@Choice Scarf
Adamant
Adamant
Sand Veil
4 spdef/ 252 atk. 252 spe

Outrage
Fire Blast
EQ
Stone Edge

Revenge killer chomp. Kills fast stuff, good for late game sweep, Fills offensive holes in this team. Fire Blast for Bronzong, Foretress, Scizor.

Slowbro@ Leftovers
Bold
Own Tempo
216 hp/ 44 sp.atk/ 252 def

T-Wave
Surf
Grass Knot
Slack Off

Pokemon that I am most unsure of. I was thinking about a calm mind set, as T-Wave dosen't seem to come in very handy often and It would be nice for him to have more offensive and the capbility to maybe even sweep teams. Grass Knot for Swampert, other bulky waters.

dpmfa448.png

Lucario @Life Orb
Adamant
4 hp/ 252 atk/ 252 speed

Swords Dance
Extreemspeed
Crunch
Close Combat

Very deadly if used right. Like Raikou, his looking to set up and sweep, sweep, sweep! Kills Blissey outright, and extreemspeed can pick off a lot of stuff off without a swords dance. I considered Lum Berry for easier set up, but.. the extra power form Life Orb was too tempting.

Spiritomb is nice, if Hypnosis works better than WoW for you, than by all means, keep it.

NICE THUNDER CAT! On your next RMT, please post natures, so then we can see whether or not they're good. By the way, Blissey almost walls this guy, just because Blissey can't take a physical hit worth crap. You have all special attacks. o_O

Forretress is standard.

Garchomp would probably rather have Rash/Lonely, just because Fire Blast is Special. Otherwise, good.

Never seen a Slowbro before! I think you meant Swampert when you said "bulky waters", not Marshtomp. Otherwise, good. Calm Mind won't help this guy much.

Lucario is fine.

All in all, a pretty good team. Just put up the natures on most of them, and then you're good!

LOL I ALWAYS forget to post the natures for some bizzare reason. Posted.

Railou can't take Blissey, Thats a fact. Lucario and Garchomp can, Spritomb can cripple it with Hypnosis.

Swampert not Marstomp. XD And yes, Calm Mind can help him a lot.
http://www.smogon.com/dp/pokemon/slowbro It's a standard set actually.

Fire Blast 2kos most of Garchomps cpunters without a sp.atk rasing nature.

Any comments on the overall synergy of the team? Any huge weaknesses I missed, ect?

I wouldn't say lead tomb counters lead scarfgar well at all. Lead scarfgar will always hypnosis first turn no matter what is on the field. Tomb can only counter if it switches in on an attack and pursuit/sucker punched. Lefties is better in the longterm but I'd strongly consider lum berry if you keep it as a lead.

All he has to do is run shadow sneak and possibly run more atk EVs on spiritomb to help give him the OHKO against scarfgars. Nonetheless, I agree through playtesting that hypnosis > WoW on lead spiritombs. You might want to consider taunt, it has worked great for me vs. lead bronzongs, steelix, etc. Also, I really don't like sucker punch because of the PP and the fact that they have to atk; you can easily replace that with Shadow Sneak.

After lots of testing, lefties is pretty much a staple for him; he really needs it to help him be bulky and annoy the opponent. Just watch out for toxic or WoW because they can really screw up your tomb.

On the Spritomb:

Force, your suggestions are great, I agree about the Sucker Punch and I like taunt, but I don't know what to replace it with. However, I have done some Calcs and an OHKO with shadow snaek on Scarfgar isn't possible with a neutral nature for attack. And standard Scarfgars don't run hypnosis.
