Team Tricksters! (OU RmT)

First of all, this is a team built around sandstorm and tricks. I might have a lot of trick users on my team but I promise you that they work well.

Building the team

I intended to make this a Sandstorm team and I think I did quite well in that aspect. I wanted a good lead that can counter most leads with ease, doesn't die easy and doesn't get hurt by Sandstorm. After a while, I came up with the idea of Jirachi.

After that, I wanted a physical sweeper, and as I intended to make it a sandstorm team, of course it had to be Tyranitar because of it's ability, Sand stream.

Then I thought I needed someone to take all the ground, fire and fight attacks aimed for the previous two. I immediately thought of any Rotom form and decided to go for Rotom-c.

I already had 2 special sweepers (My Jirachi works like one, check movesets later in thread!) and Rotom-c is a decent threat, with or without it's choicescarf.
So I decided for a Bulky Swords Dance Scizor, stolen directly from the Smog. Click here for more information.

Now, as I am an offensive player by nature, I wanted a mixed sweepers. I tried out many different pokes, including Infernape but came up with a mixed agil-Lucario.

The last poke became an Azelf for no reason at all other than it looks cool.

So, the team as a whole:

In-depth look:

385.png

Jirachi
@ Choice scarf
Timid
6Hp/252SpA/252SpE

- Trick
- Thunder Wave
- Psychic
- Thunderbolt

Jirachi is an epic lead. If I face anything that will SR or use Earthquake, I use Trick, so if it uses SR I will T wave, if it uses Earthquake I will switch into either Azelf or Rotom-c and trick the incoming poke too.

248.png

Tyranitar
@Leftovers
Jolly
6Hp/252Att/252Spe

- Dragon Dance
- Fire Punch
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge

My DD Tyranitar. What it does is simply switching in on any choiced specialattack, preferably something he resists, then get a free Dragon Dance as he switches, or more if he decides to stay in.
Earthquake and Stone Edge are standards for Tyranitar and Fire punch is there to deal with those swarms of Scizor that plagues the metagame today.

212.png

Scizor
@Leftovers
Adamant
200Hp/252Att/58Spe

- Swords Dance
- Brick Break
- Bullet Punch
- Roost

Scizor, the probably most used Pokémon in todays metagame. Most Scizors are either offensive Swords Dance or Choicebanded. I choose Bulky Swords Dance, because in my opinion statboosters has to be able to take a few hits before they go down.

This guy works as a revengekiller aswell as physical sweeper. I took this directly from the Smog, see more here.

448.png

Lucario
@Life orb
Lonely
128Att/184SpA/198Spe

- Agility
- Close combat
- Shadow ball
- HP Ice

I am really in need of suggestions for replacements for this guy. He does nothing, except taking out a Salamence or Flygon every now and then but even that is rare.

482.png

Azelf
@Choice scarf
Timid
6Hp/252SpA/252Spe

- Trick
- Fire blast
- Grass knot
- Thunderbolt

This guy works as a complement to Jirachi. When Jirachi has tricked something into a ground move, this guy switches in and uses Trick again to, trick the incoming poke, often a Blissey or Snorlax. When he has gotten rid of the Choice scarf he works kind of as a Special sweeper.

Rotom-c
@Choice scarf
Timid
6hp/252SpA/252Spe

- Trick
- Leaf Storm
- Thunderbolt
- Shadowball

Rotom-c works very good as a partner with Azelf and Jirachi at scarfing opponents.
After that, it can just as Azelf work as a Special sweeper. There really aren't any more to say about him.

So, that is the team.
I am open for suggestions to the team and I will try out all of them!

Thanks,
- Strik3

Try switching out Lucario for Inferanpe mix attacker. Otherwise, great job.
Also it seems like too many pokemon have Trick although I think that's the focus of you tam :)

Hi.

Please lengthen your descriptions or this WILL be locked under rule 3.

Thanks in advance!

Jirach should have iron head to abuse the scarf in conjunction with serene grace and stealth rock since scizor and tyranitar could use some help sweeping.

Try this.

Jirachi - Choice Scarf
Iron Head
Trick
Stealth Rock
U-turn
80 HP / 252 Atk / 176 Spe

Straight from the strategy pokedex, works wonders for me.

Try to talk about things which each team member has trouble dealing with, or moves you are not quite sure about. Some people can write several paragraphs for each pokemon in their team, so a few more lines on each is not much of a stretch.

Now for your team:

Jirachi: I would suggest changing its moveset around, as one of the biggest benefits of a Jirachi with choice scarf is taking advantage of Serene Grace when combined with Iron Head, giving a 60% chance to flinch. I notice you have no pokemon who can put up Stealth Rocks on your team, so I would suggest making your Jirachi the very well-known 'Haxachi' set.

Choice Scarf
Jolly
80 HP / 252 Atk / 176 Spe

-Iron Head
-Trick
-Stealth Rocks
-U-turn

Tyranitar: DDtar is a very good set, and very dangerous; however, yours suffers from being one-hit-KO'd by the standard CB Scizor's Bullet Punch. If you want Tyranitar to ever get to use his Fire Punch, you should replace his Leftovers with a Babiri Berry to reduce the damage he receives from steel attacks.

Scizor: No complaints here, but make sure you get Stealth Rocks up to make his sweep easier.

Lucario: If you want a mixed sweeper, try Mixape. Lucario is best known for his late-game Swords Dance sweep.

Azelf: You have two other Choice Scarf users, and that's gonna make you really weak to Stealth Rocks and stall. I would try Nasty Plot on Azelf: a boosting special sweeper is something your team is sorely missing.

Rotom-C: No complaints, it's a good set.

I mean explain the roles of your pokemon. "I am really in need of suggestions for replacements for this guy. He does nothing, except taking out a Salamence or Flygon every now and then but even that is rare." does NOT give sufficient insight to the rater as to why this pokemon is in your team.

He is not on my team for any reason, he was just a fillermon.

@ The Jirachi idea, I have tried it out, but in my opinion the one I have now works way better.

I have thought of replacing Trick Azelf to a LO Latias with the following set:

Latias
@ Life orb
Timid
252SpA/252Spe/6Hp

- Surf
- Draco Meteor
- Psycho Shift
- Recover

What do you think?

As for Tyranitar, I have NEVER been 1HKOed by CB Scizors BP.

Ok, if you can't provide any reason for your Pokemon to stay in your team, then obviously you haven't played with it enough before putting it up for rate, which breaks rule 16:

RMT rules said:
16. Play with your team before putting it up for rate. We as a community cannot emphasize this enough. No one wants to rate the team that you freshly created while eating breakfast or the gimmick you randomly put together. We as a community want teams that have been battle tested so that the obvious flaws have been hammered out.

Other than that, as august said, your descriptions are really lacking and not up to the standards required in this forum, which breaks rule 3:

RMT rules said:
3. Have some actual words in your post beyond your six Pokemon and their moves. Not following this makes your post quite boring to read and rate. All Pokemon should have a good reason for being in your team anyway, so why not post that reason? If you are having trouble with this one, start by giving an explanation for each team member. Why are they there? What role do they serve? How do you get them in? Then, give an explanation of how you would open with the team and how you would go about using it. All of these things help people rate your team and allow us to offer more helpful advice.

This does not mean add one sentence saying "Standard x" or "all-around awesome" after each Pokemon. If you put thought into making the team, you can put thought into posting it.

Next time, before making a RMT, take a look at the RMT archive, so you'll have an idea of what kind of descriptions we are looking for. Also, stop making useless double posts, and use the edit function if you have something to add to a previous post.
