Team Typhlosion

I've been working on this for a few days now, and I'm quite proud of it :)

The team:

With this team, the main aim is to set up Typhlosion for a clean sweep, which seems to require an extortionate amount of support. Anyway, here it is:

157-m.png

Typhlosion @ Choice Scarf
Nature: Mild
Ability: Blaze
EV's: 252Sp.Atk, 140Spe, 116Atk
~ Eruption
~ Focus Punch
~ Hidden Power [Ice]
~ Overheat/Fire Blast

Lead. The centrepiece of the team ,as he has tremendous amounts of potential when correctly set up. Focus Punch for massive damage on Blissey, EV'd to beat Agiligross and ScarfHera. Considering Fire Blast in the last slot as it is a potential 2HKO on standard Blissey with Blaze activated, though atm I'm leaning towards Overheat.

Starmie @ Leftovers
Nature: Timid
Ability: Natural Cure
EV's: 216Spe, 172Hp, 120Sp.Atk
~ Surf
~ Rapid Spin
~ Ice Beam
~ Recover

Fills a few holes. Spins, to make sure the rocks are gone so Typhlosion's Eruption maxes out at full power. Ice Beam over Thunderbolt because Uxie makes a much better Gyara counter, and my Garchomp coverage is 'meh' at best. Also takes status.

Leafeon @ Leftovers
Nature: Relaxed
Ability: Leaf Guard
EV's: 252Hp, 180Def, 78Atk
IV's: Spe: 0
~ Leaf Blade
~ Wish
~ Baton Pass
~ Roar

I've always loved Leafeon; despite his poor HP he still takes physical hits like a champ. Best Wish-passer I've ever used. Also acts as an efficient phazer, and can also use his low speed to pass to Typhlosion if needs be.

Gyarados @ Leftovers
Nature: Impish
Ability: Intimidate
EV's: 212Hp, 188Def, 108Sp.Def
~ Taunt
~ Thunder Wave
~ Waterfall
~ Avalanche

A slightly bulkier Gyarados. Helps Typhlosion by T-Waving anything faster than it to make sure it gets a clean sweep. Also comes in on anything apart from a Stone Edge that Heracross throws at it thanks to Waterfall.

Avalanche allows it to do some sort of damage to Garchomp, as Gyara can come in on anything that isn't a Stone Edge or maybe a CB Outrage (Which Starmie revenge kills if I make that mistake) The negative priority doesn't matter as for the most part a non-Dragon Dancer will be going last most of the time anyway. Also my best answer to Bellyzard.

Uxie @ Leftovers/Iron Ball
Nature: Sassy
Ability: Levitate
EV's: 252Hp, 252Sp.Def
IV's: Spe: 0
~ U-Turn
~ Grass Knot
~ Sunny Day
~ Thunderbolt

Sunny Day probably seems like a stupid idea on a team with two Pokes which benefit from Water STAB, but it's fairly important here. I'll only be using it in the late-game, when Typhlosion is in a position to sweep with Eruption. Set up the sun, then U-Turn out as slowly as possible to keep Typhlosion on max Hp. Undecided on whether the Iron Ball or Macho Brace would help more. Grass Knot for Mamo and Pert.

The EV's means it only takes around 40% from a Specsmence Draco Meteor, despite the fact that it can only really get in the way and not really do any big damage to it otherwise. Despite this, it can U-Turn out to get Typhlosion/Starmie/Gyarados in, who can all kill it and don't fear Salamence too much when it's on -2 Sp.Atk (Or are faster) Uxie is immune to EQ anyway, so it's not taking too much damage from the physical threats (Mamo, Pert) I want it to take on.

Snorlax @ Choice Band
Nature: Adamant
Ability: Thick Fat
EV's: 252Atk, 252Sp.Def, 6Hp
~ Body Slam
~ Earthquake
~ Crunch
~ Selfdestruct

Screams 'filler', but it covers a few holes such as Azelf, Porygon-Z and other good special attackers, whilst also packing a hard punch, because pure walls suck. Selfdestruct is great for ruining Baton Pass chains in particular, as well as just making a good desperation move.

I'm testing it now :p Tell me what you think.

If you REALLY want a fun Snorlax, lemee tell you this.

143-m.png

Snorlax @ Chesto Berry/Leftovers
Nature: Relaxed
Ability: Thick Fat
EV's: 252 Def, 252 Sp.Def, 6 Atk
~ Counter
~ Rest
~ Self Destruct/Sleep Talk
~ Return

It will rain on any Physical Sweeper's parade, the only thing to worry about here is what you want. You can have a ChestoRest to get back up, or just Rest and SleepTalk. Never put Sleep Talk and SD together, so it's one or the other, just like how it's only useful to use Leftovers if your planning on fighting back while asleep. Countering while asleep is rather fun. d(^_^)b

Of course this is a totally different Snorlax from what you had planned, and I don't know how well it'll fare in YOUR team, but mine went on to ruin many, many Poke's lives on Shoddy.

You know you can just switch after a Wish to pass it right? Unless you're using Pass to move last and be safe.

Yeah, because things that want to be Wished are generally on low health, and don't really want to have to take a hit before being healed.

And that Snorlax looks fun, but it's not really what I'm looking for in this team :(

I can tell that you want a Physical Sweeper, and not a Counter, and I just realized that Body Slam is there to Paralyze, to help Typhlosion out later on, which is why you chose it in place of Return which packs more power, correct?

Thanks for the idea on a Slow Pass Leafeon, I had a Brave Shiny Eevee, which up until now I was stumped on how to make it anything BUT an Umbreon.

Correct :)

Anyway, any glaring weaks I've missed? Haven't run into any yet on shoddy, though admittedly I haven't had much time to test it.

I'm not so sure for your ideas on leafeon & gyarados, but I could suggest an S-rocker on your team to lead before Typhlosion. Give T-bolt to Starmie. Nobody wants it around too long. Take out Sunny Day on Uxie, Blaze & Eruption is good enough. RaikouLover gives a point with potential threats, too.

My team doesn't really need SR support; I'm not stalling. It would be nice, but there are more important things this team wants to accomplish. Uxie counters Gyarados, so Starmie doesn't need T-Bolt. However, Uxie can't in itself counter Garchomp, so Starmie has Ice Beam.

Sunny Day gives Scarflosion a lot more power, which lets it 2HKO standard Cresselia, amongst other things.
