Team without a dragon.

After some moderate succes with a team which didn't had an OU pokemon. I decided that I actually liked some OU pokemon and made some changes. Please give me some tips, especially in the area's where I ask for them.

Breloom @ toxicorb
Poision heal
Jolly 252 Att/speed 6 HP
Spore
Substitute
Seedbomb
Focus-punch

This takes the place of my trusty kecleon, standard stuff. A lot of theams are actually weak to breloom, and I happened to like him, even before he became good. Although celebi is annoying. Nothing else to say though.
Replaceable

dpmfa080.png

Slowbro @ lefties
Own tempo
Bold 252 HP/def 6 sp.def
Calm-mind
Slack-off
Psychic
Surf

Counters gyarados as well as physical non crunch dragons. It physical defence is very high, it only really fears tyrannitars. Psychic>hp.electric sinch it hits more things. Hp electric is only usefull on gyarados, and psychic does that job good enough.

Scizor @ chestoberry
Technician
Adamant 252 attack/HP 6 def
Swordsdance
Iron head
X-scizor
Quick-attack

Ah my lovely scizor, if it gets 2 swordsdances it's nigh unstopable. Too bad it mostly gets just one. Chesto-berry is for annoying sleepers who ruin my sweep and has saved me a lot of times. Also since I am not aiming for speed, I put the EV's into the defences. But I am not very good at that, so if somebody has an EV spread that optimises his defences please tell me.

Starmie @ leftovers
Natural Cure
Timid 158 HP 220 speed 132 sp.att
Rapid-spin
Surf
Icebeam/thunderbolt
Recover

This thing is only in my team since toxic-spikes where killing me. I needed a spinner and starmie is the fastest. If somebody knows a spinner that fits better in this team, please tell me. And wich move is better in this team, icebeam or thunderbolt? Each time I switch, the next battle I wished I hadn't. Also 4 EV's more in speed to tie with stuff that likes to be one point above standard starmie. Maybe I should add another point? But I would like to replace this entirely
Very replaceable

Infernape @ life-orb
Naive 128 Att 252 speed 130 sp.att
Infight (close combat)
Sheme (Nasty plot)
Grass rope (Grass knot)
Flamethrower

Fast mixed sweeper, takes care of blissey and skarmory. I had trouble with them in most cases. EV's to OHKO max HP max def bold blissey. But I'm not sure if this is the most efficient spread. If not please give me a better one. Grass-rope is against swampy and bulky waters, but maybe is HP-ice better overall considering this team?

Gastrodon @ leftovers
Sticky hold
Bold 252 hp/def 6 sp.def
Counter
Mirror coat
Recover
Icebeam

My absolute favourite pokemon and the star of the team. It tears down dragons/metagross/electivire/starmie and even celebi if it uses grass-knot right of the bat. Also CM-bliss and cress can't OHKO this thing, so mirror-coat takes care of those in a pinch. (Well cress has a change with psychic). The idea is to counter/coat according to the sweeper I am facing. Basicly everything that doesn't set up is in trouble. And dragons better can't try or they are icebeamed in the face.
Absolutely NOT replaceable

So I hope you people can help me improve this team, I have good succes with it, but it can do better.

Maybe replacing Breloom with a Spiritomb (resttalk) counters your Breloom weak and helps taking status so Scizor doesn't have to. Spiritomb also adds a wall to your team.

You could check the analyses workshop for other Spiritomb sets like one with resttalk, calm mind and dark pulse. It works like crocune but it's effective against breloom. I don't know if resttalk with taunt is viable. I think you should try to figure that out yourself.

I would have Scizor holding Lum Berry over Chesto so it can cure other status like paralysis or burn.

I thought of that, but I like paralysis on scizor. He isn't fast anyway and it serves as a statusblocker (much like poision on breloom). And any pokemon that caries wisp is either going to die or I am switching out. Other causes of burn are nar impossible. Although a blissey once burned me with flamethrower, wich was cheap as I could have nailed her next turn.

And shiney crobat I have encountered multiple brelooms and not once did I had any trouble with it. Infernape or starmie took care of him, or my own breloom (who is faster since most are adamant). And I rather have something that takes out the teams without breloom than something that saves me from teams that have breloom. The latter are more rare.

My name is not shiney. I forgot breloom had poison. Anyway, this looks like a solid team.

You shouldn't be switching out against anything with Will-o-Wisp if you have Lum Berry. Assuming you predicted and Swords Dance on the switch, Iron Head does a minimum of 55% to Bold Max HP/Def Weezing, who is the bulkiest WoWer that you will encounter in OU. Dusknoir takes a minimum of 57%, and with the chance of flinch you can even beat Weezings with Fire Blast. Any other Wisper you encounter will be easily handled by one of your STAB moves followed by a Quick Attack. Overall Lum Berry is much better since it prevents paralysis, burn AND sleep. Sure, you aren't running speed but you still want to flinch slow walls, and I think you will find being fully paralyzed very annoying.

for you scizor try
impish 252 def / 252 att 4 hp @ lum berry or life orb
roost
quick attack
sword dance
x-scizors/iron head(STAB)
or
impish or adamant 252 att/ 252 hp 6 speed @ lum berry/
agility
sword dance
quick attack
baton pass

With the first set I am weak against special attacks, I want him to be bulky on both sides. And I have noticed that I need both STAB's against most teams. And without roost I won't like to use life-orb. I have considered rock-smash over something to take out heatran/magnezone, but my other team members take care of them.

For the second set, I have almost nothing to pass to. Sure breloom likes a swordsdance and agility, but it renders scizors attaking ability's useless. I need him more then just a batton-passer, since I suck at using those.

Again for the lum berry, I have never had any troubles with wispers. Most of the time I already have a swordsdance and they switch it in after I killed something or even when I use iron head. I have much more trouble with sleepers and paralysis hasn't bothered me. Really the only thing I want to take away is sleep and maybe burn. But para has saved me many times from a burn or sleep. If there was a berry that would take out sleep and burn, but not para I would use it. para hax has hindered me sometimes but chestoberry has saved me more due to paralysis shielding me multiple times, instead of a one-off use.

Go Metal Claw over Iron Head, no one actually realizes it does more with Technician, plus there's always the chance of an attack boost and more PP.

Metal Claw 50*1.5=75 attack power, chance of Attack boost. 95% acc.

Iron Head 80 attack power, Chance of flinch, 100% acc.

So I would say, no, metal claw does not do more. He has SD for the attack boost.

Iron Head is the better choice between the two.

Although it is extremely uncommon, now at least, a good Specs/LO Shaymin user could easily tear through your team as Seed Flare, HP Fire, and Psychic hit everything on your team SE. You're really going to have to watch your moves or get a stronger special wall.
