WEEK 22

Groudon with Iron Valiant by Fayz Sharpie (G)
Groudon has many of its tougher matchups patched with the help of this Iron Valiant set. Spirit Break reduces the damage of Calyrex-S, and prevents an OHKO from Draco Meteor Miraidon, after which it can threaten to OHKO with Precipace Blades. Bulk Up and Coaching help against physical threats like Calyrex-I and Rillaboom, along with Tera Fire. Chien-Pao and Groudon from a strong combo, with their Ground and Ice STABs able to hit half the type chart for super effective damage, along with Sword of Ruin reducing the opponent's defence. Raging Bolt helps the team's matchup against Kyogre and Pelipper rain teams, while also benefitting from the Sun with Protosynthesis.

:ho-oh: :rillaboom: :grimmsnarl: :ogerpon-wellspring: :urshifu: :landorus:
Screens Ho-Oh Offense by Tb0lt (G)
It's almost impossible to break through the bulk in this team, with Grimmsnarl's screens up and Regenerator Ho-Oh constantly gaining health. Tera Ogerpon-W, Ho-Oh and Assault Vest Rillaboom form fire/water/grass core of Specially bulky Pokemon, which is tough for even the strongest Special Restricteds to break through. Additionally, Ho-Oh's typing allows it to resist the attacks of many popular Physcical restricted Pokemon, including Zamazenta, Zacian and Koraidon, while Calyrex-I is prone to getting burnt from Sacred Fire. Landorus and Rillaboom give the team tools against Miraidon compositions, especially with Rillaboom's High Horsepower.

WEEK 23

:lugia: :comfey: :sableye: :rillaboom: :ogerpon-cornerstone: :pelipper:
Calm Mind Lugia by 5ft5 (G)
This Lugia team was able to day 2 LA regional, and as it stands has the honour of being the performing Lugia team of the regulation. The name of the game for this team is to set up Calm Minds with Lugia and, with it's entourage of supportive teammates, sweep your opponents in the endgame. Sableye's Screens, and Will-o-Wisp, reduce the damage from the opposing side, while Taunt can prevent opposing Pokemon like Calyrex-S from setting up. Rillaboom offers Fake Out Support, as well as setting up the Grassy Terrain to increase the healing from Comfey's Floral Healing. Floral Healing (and sometimes Grassy Terrain) are able to reset Lugia's Multiscale, and gives opponents difficulty having damage stick on Lugia. Ogerpon-C gives redirection support, which can give Lugia vital turns in setting up against threats such as Miraidon. Pelipper's Wide Guard inhibits many restricteds, such Calyrex, from spamming it's strongest moves, while Drizzle gives additional support against Koraidon.

:koraidon: :raging-bolt: :flutter-mane: :chien-pao: :entei: :whimsicott:
Koraidon and Sun Abusers by camala64 (G)
Before using this team I had now idea how much a Choice Band Entei Sacred Fire in Sun did but now I do and it really is a lot of damage. Sun also activates Protosythesis on Flutter Mane and Raging Bolt, and with all the damage boosts going around this team can spiral out of control for your opponents incredibly fast, especially if they have no rain. Even if they do, Whimsicott can manually set up Sun, while Tera Water gives it more staying power against CIR-rain compositions. Chien Pao's Sword of Ruin pairs well with Entei and Koraidon, as well as giving the team a much needed Ice resist for the Calyrex-I matchup.

:kyurem-black: :okidogi: :amoonguss: :rillaboom: :gholdengo: :pelipper:
Loaded Dice Kyurem-Black by CabbageConnoisseur (G)
Kyreum-Black has the potential to set up with Dragon Dance, the infamous beam-bolt coverage it gets access to (in Icicle Spear and Fusion Bolt), and it's monstrous 170 base attack, it is able to threaten all Pokemon in the meta for massive damage. Tera Electric works both defensively and offensively, powering up Fusion Bolt and removing many of it's original weakness. Okidogi has a strong matchup into Incineroar and Rillaboom cores, as it threatens both for massive damage, and gains attack boosts from Intimidate. Assault Vest gives Okidogi extra special bulk to survive attacks from CSR, and can always respond with a super effective attack no matter the Tera Type. Amoonguss and Rillaboom give the team much needed redirection and Fake Out respectively in order to give Kyurem space to set up. Gholdengo helps against Zamazenta, which Kyurem often stuggles to break through. Pelipper also helps against Zamazenta, as it effectively turns off the fire weakness the team has, while also resisting both of Zamazenta's attacks. Pelipper gives the team additional support against CSR with Wide Guard.

WEEK 24

:calyrex-ice: :iron hands: :amoonguss: :landorus: :regieleki: :iron jugulis:
Calyrex-I Tail-room by eriksp and bman311 (G)
This team has two great strengths. The first is it has great offensive type synergy, with the infamous 'beam-bolt' coverage between Calyrex-I and either Iron Hands or Regieleki (as the electric attacks hit the water types that resist ice). Additionally, the ground-ice coverage between Landorus and Calyrex-I hits a massive 9 types for super-effective combined. This synergy is great at creating pins in order to make sure you take KOs, even if the opponent switches or teras. If these pins weren't enough, Calyrex-I and Amoonguss are great at creating pins with Spore and Glacial Lance, as the grass types which are immune to Spore are weak to Glacial Lance. The second great strength of this team is its great speed control options. It has a strong Trick Room mode, with plenty various support to help get Trick Room up such as Iron Hands' Fake Out and Amoonguss' redirection. The low speed of these Pokemon help you sweep in Trick Room, while Amoonguss' Pollen Puff can recover teammates health and hence punish passive play in Trick Room. Iron Jugulis gives the team a strong Tailwind mode, with Calyrex-I given enough speed investment to outspeed many threats in Tailwind, such as Chi-Yu. The team also has more soft speed control with Regieleki's Electroweb. Combined with Volt Switch to pivot out, this can keep you opponent guessing which speed control you will be going for, especially when paired with Calyrex-I.

:Miraidon: :Iron Hands: :farigiraf: :iron treads: :ogerpon-cornerstone: :tornadus:
Miraidon with Iron Treads by bidoofutopia (G)
This Miraidon composition utilises Iron Treads to gain an advantage against Miraidon teams, as Iron Treads is able to resist all of Miraidon's attacks, and can threaten it in and out of Tera. Iron Treads can go for Earthquakes freely next to Tornadus, which combined with Tera Ground, Life Orb and Leer can rack up damage onto the opposing side quickly. Steel Roller is able to remove Rillaboom's terrain, and can otherwise threaten massive damage at the cost of the electric terrain. Iron Hands and Electric Seed Farigiraf are Miraidon's go to pieces for help against Calyrex-I, with Low Kick and Foul Play able to threaten it. Ogerpon-C's redirection is valuable in many matchups, while it's Ivy Cudgel can threaten Incineroar and Ogerpon-H, which helps free up Iron Treads and Miraidon further (stopping redirection and Fake Out respectively).

WEEK 25

:calyrex-shadow: :indeedee-f: :whimsicott: :chi-yu: :urshifu-rapid-strike: :pawmot:
Tera Fighting Calyrex-S Hyper-offense by Maya Hoppins and Honeyfuchsia (G)
This hyperoffensive Calyrex-S team uses Life Orb Calyrex-S in order to blow through teams. Tera Fighting Tera Blast allows Calyrex-S to threaten the dark types that usuallly resist its STAB attacks, allowing this team to subvert standard counterplay to it. Indeedee-F has key roles, setting up psychic terrain to allow for Expanding Force to be more threatening, as well as turning off electric terrain against Miraidon teams. Imprison Trick Room is a strong counter to Trick Room teams that the team would otherwise struggle against, while redirection is always handy support. Rocky Helmet allows for Indeedee-F to break Focus Sashes of Urshifu and sometimes Chien-Pao, while Tera Grass means it can Safely Redirect Spore. Choice Scarf Chi-Yu helps into opposing Calyrex-S teams, while also powering up Calyrex-S special attack while its on the field. Tera Ghost gives it an immunity to Fake Out, as well as Entei's Extreme Speed. Although the team is already extremely fast, Whimsicott gives the team additional speed control, which is needed in matchups where the opponent has Tailwind. This is important, as this team does not have much bulk, so if the team fails to gain speed control, it will have a hard time winning the game. Sunny Day allows it to power up Chi-Yu's Heat Wave and Overheat aswell as turning off Kyogre's Rain, while Tera Dark gives the team additional options against opposing Calyrex-S, in order to avoid going for potential speed ties. Urshifu-Rapid give additional Fighting-type STABs in order to beat the dark types that Chi-Yu and Calyrex-S stuggle against. Urshifu is running Safety Goggles along with Taunt, which gives the team important counterplay into Amoonguss, which the team can struggle with, especially if they commit a strong defensive Tera. Pawmot is picked for its unique access to Revival Blessing. This allows the team (paticuarly Calyrex-S) to play with much more risk. Tera Stellar allows it to OHKO Terapagos (assuming Tera Shell isn't active), while also allowing you to click Double Shock multiple times (assuming you haven't already lost your electric typing).

WEEK 26

:groudon: :raging bolt: :flutter mane: :entei::chien pao: :rillaboom:
Groudon Sun Offense by ConnerTEP (G)
This fast-paced team uses Groudon’s sun to enable its teammates to wallbreak easily. Helping Hand Groudon can be used to allow Choice Specs Flutter Mane to dish out large amounts of damage. This team has phenomenal tools to beat Miraidon teams with Rillaboom’s terrain control, Chien Pao that can pick up an early KO, and Flutter Mane and Groudon that threaten huge damage, while simultaneously pinning Choice Specs Miraidon. The Tera Normal Assault Vest Entei is a unique set that can cause trouble for opposing Calyrex-S teams, especially with Crunch that forces it to Terastalize. Lastly, there’s the Tera Water Safety Goggles Raging Bolt that also appreciates the damage boost from Groudon’s sun and can be used more safely in the Calyrex-I and Zamazenta matchup without needing to worry about Amoonguss’ Spore and redirection. Overall, this sun team has many powerful offensive pieces that synergize well.

:Lunala: :rillaboom: :incineroar: :raging bolt: :urshifu-rapid-strike: :chien-pao:
Lunala Calm Mind Balance by SeaWolfMikess (G)
This team uses standard balance Pokemon such as Incineroar, Urshifu-R, and Rillaboom, however, it showcases a less common restricted in Lunala. This version of setup Lunala stands out because it is rather flexible in that you can pivot between Incineroar and Rillaboom to allow Lunala to sweep as well as put on instant pressure with Chien Pao and Choice Scarf Urshifu-R. Interestingly, this Lunala chooses to run Tera Fairy Dazzling Gleam, which can chip away both Pokemon until something like Raging Bolt or Urshifu-R can finish them off.

WEEK 27

:zamazenta: :landorus: :flutter mane: :urshifu-rapid-strike: :Amoonguss: :entei:
Offensive Zamazenta Balance by Hatsune Chi-Yu (G)
Zamazenta’s immense bulk means opponents need to pin it down with super effective attacks in order to remove it. However, with Tera dragon, it is able flip key matchups including against Choice Scarf Chi-Yu and Koraidon. In trying to nail down Zamazenta, your opponents may neglect other threats. Most notably, Life Orb Landorus hits like a truck, while it’s ground-poison coverage cover for each other superbly. Choice Band Entei can hit hard with Extreme Speed or Sacred Fire, while it’s Inner Focus stops it being slowed down by Fake Out or Intimidate. The team has a support based Flutter Mane, with Thunder Wave and Tera Grass. Thunder Wave offers great speed control, while also giving the team positive luck with opportunities for full paralysis. Tera Grass allows Flutter Mane to ignore Amoonguss while also resisting Urshifu’s Surging Strikes. Choice Scarf Urshifu is another fast attacker that has the bonus of potentially boosting Zamazenta and Entei through coaching. Amoonguss completes the Fire Water Grass core of this team, while also giving the team more counterplay in Trick Room. Rocky Helmet punishes Urshifu-Rapid-Strike and opposing Zamazenta.

:calyrex-shadow: :wo-chien: :urshifu-rapid-strike: :incineroar: :raging bolt: :smeargle:
Wo-Chien Calyrex-S Calm Mind set up by CabbageConnoisseur (G)
When I first looked at this team I thought this looks very strange, but upon reading about the team and playing with it I realised it is based on some very sound theory. Calm Mind is able to increase Calyrex-S special bulk, while the combination of Wo-Chien and Incineroar are able to beef up Calyrex-S on the physical side. Calyrex-S has reliable recovery, in the form of Tera Fairy Draining Kiss and Wo-Chien’s Pollen Puff. Additionally, Tera Fairy Draining Kiss takes advantage of the increasing number of teams relying on Dark Type Pokémon to beat Calyrex-S. Raging Bolt helps into Scarf Urshifu which could otherwise outspeed Calyrex-S and Tornadus.

WEEK 28

:terapagos: :amoonguss: :incineroar: :landorus: :iron hands: :flutter mane:
Landorus and Calm Mind Terapagos by CabbageConnoisseur (G)
A double Fake Out core and redirection from Amoonguss help give Terapagos opportunies to set up with Calm Mind or protect itself from threats such as Urshifu or Poison Gas Weezing-G with Substitute. Calm Mind increases special bulk with Incineroar and Terapagos' large investment in defence help limit damage on the physical side, with Will-o-Wisp and intimidate. Usually Terapagos can struggle to hit Steel pokemon, however here Choice Scarf Landorus can outspeed and threaten large damage with Earth Power. Landorus also gives help against Iron Hands and Miraidon which Terapagos can otherwise struggle with. Tera Ghost Incineroar, Amoonguss, Landorus and Flutter Mane can all help give the team more counterplay against Zamazenta teams, which Terapagos traditionally struggles with. Booster Speed Flutter Mane runs both Thunder Wave and Icy wind for Speed control. Paralyisis is great at hindering opposing restricteds such as Zamazenta, while Icy Wind give more general control over the board state. Tera Fire Amoonguss gives the team more counterplay against Flutter Mane and Chi-Yu, while Tera Grass on Flutter Mane and Iron Hands can help against Amoonguss.
The second team that was initially accepted to team of the week in week 28 has been disqualified in post. This decision was made after the team of the week staff were alerted to the fact that the team was a recreation of Kosuke Miyahara's Worlds Team. Recall that submitting other player's teams is against the rules (including recreations). When submitting your teams, please try to credit inspirations for your team to the best of your ability. WEEK 29

:calyrex-ice: :landorus: :dondozo: :pelipper: :tatsugiri-droopy: :ogerpon-cornerstone:
Calyrex-I + Dondozo Rain by chlokalok (G)
This team uses Pelipper's rain is used both offensively by Dondozo and defensively by Calyrex-I in order to dominate games. Team's Incineroar hate from all of Calyrex-I's teammates frees it up to use Never-Melt Ice over the more traditional clear amulet, which allows Calyrex-I to be given much more investment in it's bulk without giving up it's damage output. This, combined with the rain turning off Calyrex-I's fire weakness, gives this Calyrex-I massive amounts of staying power. Tera Grass gives Calyrex-I an immunity to Amoonguss's Spore, which means it is much more able to sweep in Trick Room, while also allowing it to resist water type attacks. Landorus has strong synergy with Calyrex-I, as it's ground type attacks can hit the fire and steel types that resist Glacial Lance, which allow for the duo offensively pin many Pokemon. Tera Ghost gives Landorus an immunity from Fake Out, while it also benefits from rain as it allows Sandsear Storm to always connect. Dondozo benefits from the rain as it able to power up Commander-booster Wave Crash. Dondozo uses a defence-boosting Order Up and Body Press set, which helps the team massively against Zamazenta and Terapaogs teams, which Calyrex-I and rain can struggle with otherwise. Ogerpon-C rounds off the team, giving the team access to the ever useful redirection, as well as hitting the water types which usually resist the teams water and ice type attacks.

WEEK 30

:kyurem-white: :ninetales-alola: :chi-yu: :urshifu-rapid-strike: :ogerpon-cornerstone: :raging bolt:
Kyurem-W Snow by MonadoPichu (G)
Kyurem-W uses the snow, along with the strong offensive capabilities of it's teammates, to show its full potential on this bulky offense team. Assault Vest Kyurem, along with the snow brought by Ninetales-A, boosts its bulk both on the physical and special side. Once snow goes up, Blizzard becomes a very spammable spread move, while Draco Meteor can nuke threating foes. Freeze-Dry allows it to better hit Urshifu-R and Dondozo, while Earth Power allows it to hit the Steel and Fire types that resist the ice STABs. Ninetales-A sports a supportive set. With Icy Wind for speed control, and Aurora Veil for screen support. Encore pressure can put foes off using Fake Out and Protect in front of it. Choice Scarf Chi-Yu is able to outspeed threats such as Calyrex-S, Zamazenta-C and Chien-Pao, all of which it can threaten with its dark and fire STABs. Tera Ghost gives it an immunity to Fake Out and Zamazenta's Body Press, while Beads of Ruin effectively boosts Kyurem-W and Raging Bolt's special attack. Mystic Water Urshifu-R has great damage output, with Tera Water to boost its damage further. Taunt allows it to shut down threats such as Amoonguss and opposing Trick Room pokemon including Calyrex-I and Farigiraf. Ogerpon-C sports it's standard set, with Ivy Cudgel to pressure opposing Calryex-I and Power Whip to threaten Kyogre. Its rock STAB allows it to effectively threaten a lot of the fire types which resist Kyurem's ice attacks. Raging Bolt closes out the team. It can circumvent priority with thunderclap, and is very strong into Urshifu-R which can otherwise threaten many members of the team. Alongside Ogerpon-C and Chi-Yu, Raging Bolt help against opposing Koraidon teams by leveraging its strong bulk and Draco Meteor's massive damage output. Crucially, Raging Bolt gives the team the offensive beam-bolt coverage between itself and Kyurem, which can allow you to better pin opposing Pokemon inside and outside of tera.

:kyogre: :tornadus: :maushold: :tatsugiri-stretchy: :dondozo: :flutter mane:
Specs Kyogre Hyper-offense by Aldrich (G)
This Tera Water Choice Specs Kyogre can blow through even the bulkiest of pieces if its left unchecked, with its array of strong Water STABs. The supporting cast is started by Tornadus, who provides vital speed control in Tailwind allowing Kyogre to outspeed opponents (and hence stay at full HP for full power water spouts). Additionally, Rain Dance means the team can better retain weather control, while Bleakwind Storm helps Kyogre break through bulky grass types such as Rillaboom and Amoonguss. Maushold has the ever strong Follow Me, which helps protect Kyogre from strong priority attacks such as Grassy Glide and Thunderclap. Feint allows Kyogre to attack in spite of Wide Guard support, along with breaking Protect on opponents attempting to scout or stall out the rain. Tera Grass is chosen as it allows Maushold to safely redirect Spore, as well as resisting opposing Urshifu's Surging Strikes, which combines well with its Rocky Helmet. Helping Hand enables it to boost Kyogre's damage output further. Tatsugiri-Stretchy allows for Dondozo to boost its Defence when it Order Ups. This allows Dondozo to better stall out its own rain when it comes out, allowing Kyogre to reset the rain once it comes back out. Additionally, Wave Crash is boosted by Rain allowing Dondozo to act as even more of a nuke than usual. Tera Grass gives Dondozo an immunity to Amoonguss' Spore and Rage Powder. The team is rounded off by Flutter Mane who provides a secondary form of speed control with Icy Wind. On top of this, Flutter Mane is able to threaten the Dragons that resist the Water attacks on the team, such as Raging Bolt. Shadow Ball allows Flutter Mane to OHKO Calyrex-S.

WEEK 31

:zacian-crowned: :dondozo: :whimsicott: :ting-lu: :regidrago: :indeedee-f:
Zacian-C and Yawn Trapping by parsley<3 (G)
Dondozo and Ting-Lu use the combination of Yawn and Sand Tomb to trap opponents, force them to sleep, and gradually chip them down. Dondozo's Leftovers provides passive recovery, helping it stay healthy, while Ting-Lu's Rocky Helmet punishes physical attackers like Urshifu-R for making contact. This strategy pairs well with the offensively complementary core of Regidrago and Zacian-C, which excel at cleaning up weakened opponents in the endgame, with Zacian-C’s high Speed- and Attack-stat and Regidrago’s Dragon Energy provides a powerful spread move that benefits from the chip damage inflicted by Dondozo and Ting-Lu. Whimsicott and Indeedee-F are key against Miraidon compositions, as Electric Terrain prevents opponents from being put to sleep with Yawn, limiting Dondozo and Ting-Lu’s effectiveness. Whimsicott provides Tailwind support to match opposing speed control, while Helping Hand boosts Regidrago and Zacian-C’s damage output. Indeedee-F offers redirection, allowing Zacian-C and Regidrago to attack more safely, while also setting Psychic Terrain to block Fake Out and override Miraidon’s Electric Terrain. Safety Goggles ensures Indeedee-F can redirect Amoonguss’s Spore without being affected, while also allowing it to threaten Amoonguss with Psychic.

:groudon: :jumpluff: :flutter mane: :incineroar: :raging bolt: :walking wake:
Groudon and Jumpluff Sun by polyprothene (G)
Ground is an excellent offensive type, which Groudon leverages to full effect on this Sun team. Precipice Blades is a powerful spread move, assuming it connects, and Heat Crash takes advantage of Groudon’s heaviness and its Sun, which boosts Fire-type moves. Groudon synergizes well with Jumpluff, whose fast Sleep Powder pressures opposing Pokemon. Since Groudon’s Heat Crash covers for Grass-types, and Incineroar, which typically runs Safety Goggles, is weak to Groudon’s Ground-type moves, this often leads to the opponent getting pinned by Jumpluff and Groudon. Additionally, Tailwind gives the team speed control while Rage Powder can redirect attacks such as Miraidon's Draco Meteor that would otherwise 1HKO Groudon. Tera Water allows Jumpluff to resist the Ice- and Fire-type attacks that would otherwise threaten it. Choice Specs Flutter Mane isn’t as common anymore, but its damage output is as threatening as ever, especially combined with a Protosynthesis Special Attack boost. Moonblast and Dazzling Gleam get boosted by Tera Fairy, which also allows Flutter Mane to resist Chien-Pao and Urshifu's Sucker Punch. Assault Vest Raging Bolt is a Specially Defensive wall that is especially strong into Rain cores by threatening Water-types such as Kyogre and Urshifu-R. Incineroar allows the team to better check threats like Ogerpon-H, while Fake Out can allow Groudon to safely use Swords Dance. This Incineroar runs Taunt, which can be useful in preventing the opponent from setting up Trick Room. Walking Wake gets a speed boost from the Sun but can operate in both Rain and Sun thanks to Hydro Steam getting boosted by both.

WEEK 32

:lunala: :roaring moon: :ursaluna-bloodmoon: :amoonguss: :chien-pao: :iron hands:
Triple Moon Tail-room by defiantvgc (G)
This Lunala Tail-room team can dominate speed control, allowing Lunala and Ursaluna-Bloodmoon to blow up opposing Pokemon. Lunala is sporting a Power Herb Meteor Beam set, which allows it to threaten to OHKO opposing Incineroar while boosting its Special Attack. Moongeist Beam is a consistent STAB option, which has the added benefit of being able to OHKO Ogerpon-C once at +1. Wide Guard gives it strong counterplay into both Calyrexes, as well as Kyogre. Tera Grass allows it to ignore Amoonguss' Spore, meaning it can better sweep in Trick Room. It has the added benefit of allowing it to resist Urshifu-R and Kyogre's Water-type attacks. Roaring Moon gives the team its fast Tailwind, while also having a better matchup into Calyrex-S compared to Tailwind setters thanks to its Dark-typing and high Special Defence. Acrobatics is a consistent Flying attack, and will always be at full power after Booster Energy gets consumed. Knock Off can threaten opposing Calyrex-S and Calyrex-I, while also having added utility in removing items. Ursaluna sports its standard Tera Normal Life Orb set, in order to get as much damage as possible, and hence threaten as many OHKOs as possible with Blood Moon and Earth Power. This makes it harder for opponents to stall out Trick Room and Tailwind respectively. Rocky Helmet Amoonguss is great to redirect Urshifu-R and Zamazenta's attacks, as Rocky Helmet forces recoil. Tera Fire allows Amoonguss to match up much more favourably into Flutter Mane and Chi-Yu leads, while also gaining a resistance to Calyrex-I's Glacial Lance. Chien Pao matches up well into Miraidon, as Ice Spinner is able to threaten big damage as well as remove terrain. Fake Out from Iron Hands enables Lunala to get Trick Room easily. Iron Hands is also able to utilise its low speed and strong STAB attacks in Wild Charge and Low Kick to threaten many Pokemon once in Trick Room.

:calyrex-ice: :indeedee-f: :iron valiant: :ogerpon-wellspring: :roaring-moon: :landorus:
Imprison Calyrex-I by ScribbleScribble and bidoofutopia (G)
This super speedy Calyrex-I is so fast it can outspeed Calyrex-S in Tailwind, as well as Imprison other Calyrex-I before they can get a move off. This makes this Calyrex-I incredibly strong in the mirror, especially combined with Tera Dragon to turn off Calyrex-I weakness to Ivy Cudgel from Ogerpon-C and Ogerpon-H. Indeedee-F sets up the Psychic Terrain, which prevents opponents from Faking Out Calyrex-I, since it doesn't run Protect. It also helps greatly in the Miraidon matchup, as it is able to turn off the Electric Terrain as well as redirect Miraidon's attacks away from the likes of Calyrex-I and Landorus. Tera Grass allows Indeedee-F to safely redirect Spore, as well as resist Urshifu-R's Surging Strikes. Focus Sash Iron Valiant is able to support Calyrex-I with Wide Guard, protecting it from Kyogre's Water Spout as well as Calyrex-S's Astral Barrage. Additionally, Coaching can boost Calyrex-I's Attack and Defence to obscenely high levels. Feint puts off opponents from clicking Protect and also allows Calyrex-I to spam Glacial Lance in front of Wide Guard Pokemon, such as Pelipper. Ogerpon-W is another bulky redirector to support the team, but one with more of an offensive presence than Indeedee-F, with its high base power moves in Ivy Cudgel and Wood Hammer. Booster Energy Roaring Moon is able to set up Tailwind quickly, while also proving utility in Knock Off's item removal and consistent damage with Acrobatics. Calyrex-I's Imprison can help protect Roaring Moon against opposing Calyrex-I's Glacial Lance, while Acrobatics can hit Urshifu-R for super effective damage. Landorus and Calyrex-I have great synergy, with the Ice-Ground coverage hitting half the types for super effective damage while being resisted by nothing. Additionally, Landorus threatens Zamazenta-C and the ever-present Miraidon.

:terapagos: :urshifu: :incineroar: :landorus: :whimsicott: :farigiraf:
Choice Specs Terapagos Offence by LanternComic (G)
This is a Choice Specs Terapagos team that utilises the support of Tailwind Whimsicott, the Fake Out blocking Farigiraf and Incineroar's Fake Out and strong pivoting (and hence positional) utility. Offensively, Terapagos pairs well with Landorus, as Landorus's Ground-type STABs are able to hit the Steel and Rock-types that resist normal-type Tera Starstorm, such as Zamazenta-C and Zacian-C. The team is primarily Tailwind based with Urshifu particularly benefitting from Tailwind turns. This is because opponents are less able to stall through Tailwind turns with Protect when Urshifu is around, due to Unseen Fist. Tera Dark boosts Urshifu's Dark-type attacks further, while the Focus Sash better enables Urshifu to trade damage onto the opposing side. The team has a Trick Room mode built in with Farigiraf and Incineroar, as Fake Out enables Trick Room to be set up incredibly easily. Throat Spray on Farigiraf allows it to become something of a sweeper in Trick Room once it has got its first Hyper Voice off, while Tera Grass gives it an immunity to Amoonguss's Spore.

WEEK 33

:zacian-crowned: :dondozo: :ogerpon-hearthflame: :urshifu: :ting lu: :raging bolt:
Dondozo + Ting-Lu Sand Sleeping by volcaronavgc (G)
This Dondozo, Ting-Lu, and Zacian team is similar to the team that parsley<3 won with two weeks back, with a Ting-Lu and Dondozo core for Sand Tomb trapping and Yawn forcing the opponent asleep, along with Zacian-C, who can clean up in an endgame. However, there are some key differences. Zacian-C sports Tera Normal, which grants it an immunity to Astral Barrage, allowing it to better take on Calyrex-S. Additionally, it can take advantage of the turns that the opponent spends asleep to enable it to get a Substitute up, which gives it additional staying power along with a pseudo Spore and Intimidate immunity. Ogerpon-H is able to redirect Spore, similar to parsley's Indeedee-F, but has a much greater offensive presence. Wood Hammer over Horn Leech allows it to OHKO Urshifu-R. Urshifu is used as a Calyrex-S check, while the Focus Sash gives it extra survivability, which can be crucial in endgames or when trying to remove a key threat early on. Ting-Lu is running Wide Lens, which gives it more consistency when going for Ruinations and Sand Tombs. Taunt allows it to stop Amoonguss, which can otherwise be tricky for Dondozo and Ting-Lu to handle. Assault Vest Raging Bolt's Draco Meteor can bait opponents to Tera Fairy, which can benefit Zacian-C long term. Electroweb acts as good speed control, while Thunderbolt and Thunderclap are standard.

:eternatus: :tornadus: :flutter mane: :urshifu-rapid-strike: :tinkaton: :chi-yu:
Life Orb Eternatus Hyper Offence by SuminVGC (G)
Eternatus can leverage its high Speed and Special Attack (which is boosted further by Life Orb) to sweep through teams. The poison STABs allow Eternatus to hit the Fairy-types, which are immune to Dynamax Cannon. Additionally, Sludge Wave is a strong spread attack, allowing Eternatus to circumvent redirection and stick more damage onto the opposing team. Eternatus has great synergy with Tinkaton, as Tinkaton's Steel-typing gives it an immunity to Eternatus' Sludge Wave. Additionally, Fake Out support can stop opponents from moving for a turn, and, thanks to Mold Breaker, not even Farigiraf can stop it. Feint can break through opponents Protect and Wide Guard, allowing Tinkaton's partner to take more KOs. This is especially important in Tailwind, as the team only has 4 turns to make use of the speed control. Helping Hand can boost the damage output of partners further. Tornadus gives the team its Tailwind support, which allows for the team to outpace even the fastest restricteds, such as Koraidon and Calyrex-S. Scary Face gives the team extra speed control, while the Tera Steel gives Tornadus an immunity to Eternatus' Sludge Wave. For similar reasons, Flutter Mane runs Tera Steel. In order to give this fast-paced team help in Trick Room, this Flutter Mane runs Imprison Trick Room to deny it from ever going up. Icy Wind helps into Landorus, which can otherwise threaten big damage onto the team. Urshifu-R is great at taking advantage of Tailwind turns, as it is able to hit through Protect. Additionally, Close Combat can help remove Steel-types, which can otherwise give the team a problem. Taunt can help prevent Trick Room as well as Amoonguss' Spore. Chi-Yu is the final member of this team. Similar to Urshifu-R, its fire attacks can threaten Steel-types such as Zamazenta-C, while its dark attacks can force a tera on Calyrex-S. Choice Scarf allows it to outrun and remove key threats, such as Landorus, Zamazenta-C, and Zacian-C.

Miraidon Screens by camala64 (G)
There aren't any Pokemon faster than a booster Speed Iron Bundle, and here camala64 uses that fact to their full advantage in order to utilise Iron Bundle to its full potential. Icy Wind Iron Bundle is great for speed control, while Encore can offer devious support. Specifically, being able to threaten Landorus (which many teams rely on to remove Miradon) is a great asset for Iron Bundle to have. Additionally, Miraidon and Iron Bundle have the infamous 'beam-bolt' coverage, which is very hard for opponents to manage. Grimmsnarl is able to set up screens, boosting this team's defences. This gives the team the option to look to out-bulk opposing teams, most notably against Calyrex-S and Calyrex-I compositions. Parting Shot helps the team positionally, especially when it comes to getting Miraidon back in to reset the Electric Terrain. Ogerpon-H offers its usual blend of sheer offensive pressure and redirection support in Follow Me, with the ladder especially helping in the Miraidon mirror. Iron Hands and Farigiraf help into Calyrex-I, with their combined physical bulk being able to help stall out Trick Room.

WEEK 34

:koraidon: :chien-pao: :talonflame: :chi-yu: :amoonguss: :farigiraf:
Talonflame Koraidon Hyper Offense by Sheepie_Sheep (G)
This Koraidon team has so much firepower it can blow through opponents with ease. Tera Fire Koraidon in Sun does massive single target damage, and when you combine this with Chien-Pao's Sword of Ruin then Koraidon's Flare Blitz will OHKO even the bulkiest of Pokemon. Talonflame is able to give priority Tailwind thanks to Gale Wings. In spite of it's Attack stat being naturally lower than Amoonguss, Talonflame is able to stack damage multipliers from Sun, Life Orb, Tera Stellar and sometimes even Sword of Ruin to also be able to threaten big damage onto the opposing side. This Chi-Yu deviates away from the more standard Choice Scarf in order to boost it's damage output further with Choice Specs. Amoonguss and Farigiraf give this team a defensive backbone. Armor Tail preventing Fake Out (and other priority attacks) prevents the opponent from circumventing the speed control war, while Throat Spray allows Farigiraf to operate as a strong sweeper itself under the right conditions. Helping Hand allows it to boost the damage output of it's allies even further. Amoonguss can put the opponent off from going for Trick Room themselves due to the risk of getting Spored, as it's very low base Speed allows it to under-speed key Trick Room Sweepers such as Iron Hands, Calyrex-I and Ursaluna. Sludge Bomb allows Amoonguss to play more offensively, as it can threaten damage onto the Grass-type Pokemon that are immune to Spore such as Rillaboom, as well as Tera Fairy Miraidon.

:koraidon: :flutter mane: :farigiraf: :kingambit: :ogerpon-cornerstone: :landorus:
Koraidon and Kingambit Composition by CabbageConnoisseur (G)
Koraidon and Flutter Mane are able to form a potent offensive combination. For starters, they both incredible fast, and hence can hit hard before the opponent can even move. Flutter Mane's Icy Wind gives additional insurance of this, and with since the Focus Sash frees it up to run max speed, it should always out-speed an opposing Flutter Mane when Sun is up. On top of this, Flutter Mane's Moonblast is able to threaten the Dragon-types that resist Koraidon's Flare Blitz, while Koraidon's Fighting and Fire-type attacks are able to threaten the Steel-types that resist Flutter Mane's Moonblast. Finally, Flutter Mane's Shadow Ball is able to threaten the Ghost-types are immune to Koraidon's Close Combat. Ogerpon-Cornerstone also has good synergy with Koraidon, as it is able to threaten the Water and Fire-types which resist Flare Blitz with Ivy Cudgel and Power Whip respectively. The redirection it provides is useful against opponents like Miraidon, while also being able to safely redirect Spore. Kingambit helps the team check both Calyrex riders, as it can threaten them with Kowtow Cleave and Sucker Punch, or even an Iron Head if they tera to fairy. This Kingambit is built to be a Trick Room attacker (as pinning it outside of Trick Room with Urshifu's Close Combat is otherwise easy counter-play for Calyex-S and Calyrex-I players), as the Safety Goggles prevents opposing Amoonguss from putting it to sleep. It has good synergy with Farigiraf, who can both set up Trick Room and threaten the Fighting-types which threaten Kingambit with Psychic. Both Farigiraf and Kingambit have been given the Water tera to help into opposing Calyrex-I and Kyogre. Choice Scarf Landorus helps sure up the matchup into Miraidon and opposing Koraidon, as it can threaten both with strong STAB Earth Powers. Tera Poison gives a STAB boost on Sludge Bomb, as well as allowing it to better take Miraidon's Dazzling Gleam.

Dawn Wings Psyspam by 21Kieran and AthenaStrive9 (G)
The avid followers of Team of the Week may have noticed a trend that I don't like accepting 'psy-spam' teams. In fact, in the 33 weeks preceding this, only 2 teams have had an Expanding Force user, both of which were a Calyrex-S. However, I really enjoyed this tail-room take on the archetype, as the multiple options for speed control kept opponents guessing. Choice Specs Necrozma-Dawn-Wings hits like a truck. Its running Tera Fairy to not only shake it's 4x weaknesses to Ghost and Dark, but also to gain access to Tera Fairy Tera Blast, which allows it to hit the Dark-types which otherwise check it. Pair it next to Chi-Yu and you can boost it's damage output even further. The team sports a double redirection core with both Amoonguss and Indeedee, which can help keep the likes of Urshifu-R and NDW safe. Roaring Moon gives the it's fast Tailwind mode, as the Booster Energy activates Roaring Moons Protosythesis, which allows for it to gain a Speed boost and move before most other Pokemon. Taunt on both Urshifu-R and Roaring Moon can Taunt opposing Wide Guard users, which better allow NDM to spam Expanding Force onto the opponent.

WEEK 35

:calyrex-ice: :ogerpon: :raging bolt: :chi-yu: :flutter mane: :urshifu-rapid-strike:
Calyrex-I + Teal-mask Offense by defiantvgc and 4kuservgc (G)
Ogerpon combines nicely with Calyrex-I, as Bullet Seed threatens the Water-types which opponents often rely on to take damage from Calyrex-I. Calyrex-I is trained to OHKO opponents who are usually trained to survive its attacks (such as Flutter Mane). Bullet Seed is preferred over Ivy Cudgel here, as it allows Ogerpon to OHKO Urshifu through its Focus Sash. Additionally, Defiant helps put opponents off from attempting to intimidate Calyrex-I, especially Incineroar, who is threatened by Ogerpon's Superpower. Follow Me redirects moves away from allies, such as Miraidon's Draco Meteor. Flutter Mane and Chi-Yu (who are commonly known together as Flutter-fish) pair together nicely, as Chi-Yu's Beads of Ruin reduces the Special Defence of opponents, allowing for Flutter Mane to hit even harder with Moonblast and Shadow Ball. Chi-Yu runs the Choice Scarf to allow it to outpace threats such as Zacian-C, Zamazenta and Landorus, all of which it can threaten with an Overheat. Raging Bolt holds the Assault Vest, allowing it to take on special attackers better, such as Calyrex-S. Volt Switch is picked here to help with positional play, as its slower pivots help the team reposition. Tera Bug gives Raging Bolt a resistance to Zamazenta's Body Press without making it weak to Chien-Pao's Throat Chop. Urshifu-R rounds off the team, as its strong Water-type attacks allow it to take on Incineroar well, while Taunt is chosen here to help shut down Amoonguss.

:calyrex-shadow: :urshifu-rapid-strike: :ogerpon-hearthflame: :roaring moon: :landorus: :chi-yu:
Sash Calyrex-S Tang Balance by parsley<3 (G)
We are seeing this Tang balance core with Urshifu-R, Ogerpon-H, Roaring Moon and Landorus pop up on all sorts of teams. The Urshifu-R and Ogerpon-H complete a two man fire-water-grass core, and are both capable of hitting very hard with Emody Aspect and Tera Water respectively. Roaring Moon matches up fantastic into Calyrex-S, while also offering Tailwind support. Landorus is a renowed balance breaker, with its Ground and Poison-type coverage hitting the likes of Incineroar and Rillaboom. Focus Sash Calyrex-S makes it less of a 'tera hog' as it's poor defensive typing isn't as much of a problem. It also allows it to utilise the more offensive Tera Ghost, helping it shred through teams. Covert Cloak Chi-Yu completes the team, as Beads of Ruin boosts the damage of Special Attackers on the team. Covert Cloak allows for Chi-Yu to fit Taunt onto it's moveset, helping it shut down Amoonguss and prevent Trick Room from the likes of Calyrex-I and Indeedee-F.

WEEK 36

:zacian-crowned: :grimmsnarl: :urshifu-rapid-strike: :ogerpon-hearthflame: :farigiraf: :raging bolt:
Zacian-C Screens by Thacrow (G)
This Zacian-C was built with the objective of being strong into Arubega Miraidon teams without inheriting a weakness into Calyrex-I compositions. Zacian-C is able outspeed most Miraidons, and OHKO with either Play Rough or Behemouth Bash depending on whether it is in or out of tera. Additionally, it can scout for the move Miraidon locks into with Protect, and then choose to Tera into Ground or retain its current typing based off of that. Grimmsnarl increases the bulk of this whole team with dual screens, accompanied by Light Clay. Thunder Wave allows for speed control into Calyrex-S balance and Tailwind compositions. Foul Play also allows Grimmsnarl have offensive pressure into Calyrex-I, as well as other physical threats like Ogerpon-H. Urshifu-R and Ogerpon-H complete a two man fire-water-grass core, which gives them great offensive synregy when paired together. The both are also able to give support, such as Ogerpon-H redirection Miraidon's Draco Meteor, and Urshifu-R taunting the ever present Amoonguss. Farigiraf blocks fake out, which is crucial to stop getting put into a Fake Out blender by many Incineroar and Rillaboom balance teams, while it can also undo Trick Room against Calyrex-I. Safetly Goggles gives insurace of this, as you can no longer be pinned by the combination of Glacial Lance and Spore. Assault Vest Raging Bolt rounds of the team, which is a great assent into both Groudon's and Koraidon's sun compositions, as well as Kyogre's rain teams.

SUBMISSION ANNOUNCEMENTS
This week (week commencing 31st March) we will not be accepting teams for the new regulation. We will start accepting Regulation I Teams next week (week commencing 7th April). We will continue accepting Regulation G teams until the last in person event has occurred. This means that the last week we will accept Regulation G submissions is the week commencing 21st April.

Additionally, you can now write your own team descriptions for use in this Smogon Team of the Week thread. The team description should be a formal paragraph explaining how the team functions, and the roles of all the Pokémon in it. Choosing not to write your own team descriptions will not affect your chances of winning. Happy building trainers!

WEEK 37

:terapagos: :volcarona: :urshifu-rapid-strike: :rillaboom: :gholdengo: :flutter mane:
Specs Terapagos + Support Volcarona Offense by camala64 (G)
Choice Specs Terapagos is able to offer much more offensive pressure upfront than many of it's Calm Mind counterparts. Earth Power and Dark Pulse allow you to hit Ghost and Steel-types, while Hyper Beam has the capacity to OHKO many restricted Pokemon once Tera'd, including Calyrex-I. Volcarona allows you to safely redirect Zamazenta-C's Body Press and Chien-Pao's Throat Chop, breaking the latter's Focus Sash in the process with it's Rocky Helmet. Tera Dragon allows it to resist both Urshifu-R's Surging Strikes, as well as a Tera Fire Life Orb Koraidon's Flare Blitz in the Sun. Gholdengo is an additional tech for the Zamazenta-C matchup, as the Grassy Seed combined with Gholdengo's advantageous typing allows it to take on both Zamzenta-C and Chien-Pao at the same time. It can use Tera Fairy to get out of it's weakness to Throat Chop. Rillaboom provies it's standard array of support in Fake Out and U-Turn's pivoting. Grassy Terrain allows for Terapagos to reset it's Tera Shell. Choice Scarf Urshifu-R is able to out-speed Calyrex-S, and threaten with Surging Strikes. Tera Ghost allows it to circumvent opposing Fake Out, while Ice Spinner is able to help maintain Terrain Control against the ever-present Miraidon compositions. Booster Speed Flutter Mane rounds off the team. Thunder Wave is able to cripple opposing restricted Pokemon, such as Calyrex-S and Calm Mind Terapagos, while Taunt is able to shut down opposing Amoonguss. Icy Wind gives the team additional speed control options, while Tera Normal gives it an immunity to Calyrex-S.

:koraidon: :hariyama: :chi-yu: :flutter mane: :indeedee-f: :exeggutor:
Koraidon + Exeggutor Psy-spam by parsley<3 (G)
This is a slightly different take on many of the Sun and Psy-spam teams we have seen over past regulations. Instead of Torkoal, Koraidon takes on the role of the sun setter. Damage multipliers from Sun, Tera Fire, Orichalcum Pulse and Life Orb allow it to output obscene damage, such as being able to OHKO Iron Hands. Breaking Swipe is chosen over the usual Flame Charge here to give Koraidon access to a Spread Move, which can allow it to 2HKO Ogerpon-C and Chien-Pao, while still putting damage on the other slot. Flutter Mane and Chi-Yu are both strong sun abusers, which pair well together thanks to Chi-Yu's Beads of Ruin. Flutter Mane's Focus Sash allows it to invest fully in it's offenses and speed, without having to compromise on it's defences. Exeggutor and Indeedee-F compromise the Psy-spam mode that the team has. Indeedee-F is able to gain terrain control against Miraidon while boosting Exeggutor's Expanding Force. Imprison Trick Room helps give the team more counterplay to many of the format's Trick Room teams. Exeggutor is able to hit off fast Solar Beams, Expanding Forces and Sleep Powders if Sun is up thanks to it's ability Chlorophyll. The team is rounded off by Hariyama, who exists as a tech for the Calyrex-I matchup. Wide Guard helps protect partners from Glacial Lance, while if you choose to play more offensively, Thick Fat ensures you do not take much damage from a Glacial Lance while Low Kick be able to hit it with a maxed out 120 Base Power. Safety Goggles prevents Amoonguss from redirecting Low Kick or putting Hariyama to sleep to stop Wide Guard, which is important as Amoonguss is the most common partner for Calyrex-I (especially once in Trick Room).

Miraidon + Zamazenta-C Tailroom by Sir Aaron07 (I)
[written by teambuilder] This team is just arubega Miraidon paired with the most consistent Reg G duo of Zamazenta-C and Chien-Pao. I chose Zamazenta-C to pair with Miraidon because it helps a ton against hard Trick Room and Calyrex-I matchups that Miraidon does not like. It is also yet another Pokemon that walls common Rillaboom sets making them think twice in team preview before they decide to bring it to nerf Miraidon's damage output. Chien-Pao is a great Pokemon in general, but here it has felt extra good as it helps a ton in the mirror, is another ice resist that Miraidon appreciates partnering with, and also threatens Rillaboom and Landorus that Miraidon and Zamazenta-C don't like facing. Miraidon is EV trained to live modest Scarf Landorus Earth Power and Life Orb Sandsear Storm while still having a ton of Special Attack investment and enough speed to outspeed timid Kyogres and even mons that try to hit the same benchmark by 2 more points which are common on swordfish teams as they run Mystic Water.

Calyrex-S Zamazenta-C Balance by A Regu1ar Guy (I)
[written by teambuilder] Utilising the strong combination of Calyrex-S and Zamazenta-C this team can steamroll games or take it slow and position correctly to win games. Calyrex-S offers strong spread stab and can boost its offenses with Nasty Plot and tera out of its Dark and Ghost weakness with Tera Dark. Zamazenta-C compliments Calyrex-S greatly with Fighting STAB for normal and Dark-types for Calyrex-S. Wide guard for the many spread moves such as Kyogre's Water Spout, Groudon's Precipice Blades and opposing Calyrex-S's Astral Barrage. Imprison is here instead of Steel-STAB s it's useful for opposing Zamazenta-C to lock them down and for other Wide Guard users such as Lunala and Pelipper. Incineroar and Rillaboom offer amazing Fake Out support to allow Calyrex-S to set up with Nasty Plot. They can then pivot with Parting Shot and U-Turn respectively into each other to reset Fake Out or into a more offensive Pokemon. Both use quite standard sets of Safety Goggles and Assault Vest but Incineroar has Will-o-Wisp for physical attackers which may have Clear Amulet that won't be affected by Intimidate forcing a Tera Fire on some mons such as Calyrex-I if they don't want to be burned.

WEEK 39

:Calyrex-Shadow: :Zamazenta-Crowned: :Ogerpon-Cornerstone: :Rillaboom: :Incineroar: :Roaring Moon:
Calyrex-S and Zamazenta-C Balance by Red Fang X (I)
[written by teambuilder] At the beginning of the format, Calyrex Shadow Rider and Zamazenta were instantly seen as a top tier duo due to their synergy. Calyrex hits for super effective the ghost types that annoy Zamazenta, while Zamazenta hits for super effective the normal and dark types that annoy Calyrex. This Calyrex in particular is Tera Normal to dominate the Shadow Rider mirror, while Life Orb allows it to do good damage even without any boosts, and can also pick up double ohkos at +2 from Nasty Plot. Zamazenta is a super bulky restricted that also does really good damage with Body Press, and is running Behemoth Bash to hit all the Tera Fairy heavy pokemon that wall Zamazenta, such as Heatran and Ice Rider. Wide Guard is a super important tool to avoid all the spread moves in the format, and Tera Dragon allows it crucial resistances to Urshifu's Surging Strikes and Miraidon's Electro Drift. Roaring Moon provides crucial speed control to help against fast restricteds and potential mirrors. Knock Off is important for removing pesky items such as Focus Sashes or Assault Vests. Ogerpon Cornerstone is the best offensive support Pokemon in the game, with Ivy Cudgel and Power Whip doing reasonable damage on their own, and Follow Me for protecting the restricteds and allowing Calyrex to set up Nasty Plot. It's unique combination of it being a grass type and Follow Me allows it to completely wall Amoonguss. Rillaboom and Incineroar are the best supporting duo in the game, with both of them having Fake Out and pivoting moves, allowing to constantly switch out and back in for more Fake Outs and Intimidates. Grassy Terrain is also super helpful for recovering Calyrex from Life Orb, and making Zamazenta even harder to kill. Overall, the team has super good synergy and is not very hard to use, so if you decide to use it, good luck!

:Groudon: :Miraidon: :Ogerpon-Hearthflame: :Whimsicott: :Urshifu: :Farigiraf:
Miraidon + Groudon Tailroom by IcicleStorm13 (I)
Tera Fire Bulk Up Koraidon is strong into Calyrex-I, which is one of the only restricteds Miraidon traditionally struggles with. Fire Punch allows Groudon to hit Calyrex-I even if they run Tera Grass. Miraidon sports a standard Tera Fairy Choice Specs set, but runs max speed to allow it to outpace other more bulky Miraidons. Ogerpon-Hearthflame gives both utility in follow me and massive offensive power with an Attack boost if it chooses to Tera ontop of the Sun-boost given to Ivy Cudgel thanks to Groudon. Wood Hammer allows it to consistantly OHKO Urshifu-R without Tera. Tera Dark Whimsicott and Urshifu help the team beat Calyrex-S and Terapagos, with Light Screen support and the sheer damage from Wicked Blow and Close Combat. Sash gives Urshifu more staying power, especially in front of Fairy-types like Flutter Mane. Electric Seed Fargiraf has great staying power, which allows it to better take on Calyrex-I. Armor Tail helps prevent Fake Out from Rillaboom and Incineroar, while Roar allows it to pivot in Miraidon safely at the end of turn, which will reset terrain.

WEEK 40

:koraidon: :lunala: :raging bolt: :tornadus: :ogerpon-hearthflame: :brute bonnet:
Koala Tail-room by 21Kieran (I)
Koala (Koraidon + Lunala for the uneducated) allows for a nice balance between the speed and power of Life Orb Koraidon and the bulk and utility that Lunala provides. Additionally, Koraidon's Close Combat threatens the Normal and Dark-types which are usually strong into Lunala, such as Terapagos and Incineroar. The speed control sandwich that is provided by Lunala's Trick Room and Tornadus's Tailwind allows for the team to invest more into their bulk. Assault Vest Raging Bolt is incredibly strong into opposing rain compositions, while Snarl gives it utility into opposing special attackers such as Calyrex-S, Lunala and Kyogre. Sunny Day Tornadus also allows for more dominant control over the weather, while Tera Dark allows for it to become immune to opposing Tornadus's Taunt and lets it resist Calyrex-S's Astral Barrage. Tera Fire Ogerpon-H hits like a truck in the Sun, while follow me gives it good general utility against strong single target attackers such as Miraidon. Brute Bonnet's Spore helps the team tremendously against Calyrex-I (while if the Calyrex-I is Tera Grass it is massively threatened by both Koraidon and Ogerpon-H). Additionally, it's natural Dark-typing gives the team a much needed natural resistance to Astral Barrage.

:ho-oh: :miraidon: :iron hands: :farigiraf: :grimmsnarl: :urshifu-rapid-strike:
Ho-Oh Miraidon Bulky Screens Offense by Skwovetboi (I)
[written by teambuilder] This is a balance team featuring Miraidon and Ho-Oh. Miraidon and Ho-Oh have great synergy, allowing Ho-Oh to help out in the matchups Miraidon can be bad in. Ho-Oh also has a great matchup into Zacian-Crowned, Groudon, Zamazenta, Zacian, Calyrex-Ice, Rillaboom (even though it is not a Restricted Legendary, it can be a troubling Pokemon for Miraidon), and Kyogre once Ho-Oh has Terastallized into Water. Miraidon is the main sweeper of this team, utilizing the Electric Terrain, Hadron Engine Ability, and Choice Specs Item to output numerous amounts of damage. This specific Miraidon is frailer compared to other Miraidon, therefore Grimmsnarl was put on this team next. Grimmsnarl's screens give the team the much-needed bulk, Thunder Wave for speed control, and Foul Play to threaten Calyrex-Shadow and Calyrex-Ice. A good Trick Room in Iron hands and Farigiraf came next on the team, since this is the best Trick Room core on Miraidon teams, as proven by the Arubega Miraidon Team. Iron Hands deals a lot of Fighting-Type damage with Low Kick and Drain Punch, especially with Quark Drive boosting its Attack by 30%. Iron Hands has Tera Water to have a better matchup into Calyrex-Ice and Kyogre. Offensive Throat Spray Farigiraf is used on this team instead of the common Electric Seed support Farigiraf because Grimmsnarl, Ho-Oh, and Choice Scarf Coaching Urshifu already provide enough support for the team. This Farigiraf is able to dish out damage in Trick Room, rather than relying on its allies for damage. Choice Scarf Urshifu-Rapid is the Coaching user of choice, raising the Attack and Defense of any ally. This will allow Iron hands and Ho-Oh to hit harder with their attacks. I built this team as an early meta team. If you want to use Ho-Oh-- I would really appreciate it if y'all gave my team a try!

:calyrex-shadow: :koraidon: :brute bonnet: :indeedee-f: :chi-yu: :flutter mane:
Calyrex-S + Koraidon Hyper Offense by Leafeon Enjoyer (I)
It is incredibly difficult to survive the offensive onslaught provided by Calyrex-S and Koraidon. It is difficult to match their speed, while Koraidon threatens the Normal and Dark-types which resist Astral Barrage, while Calyrex-S threatens the Psychic-types which threaten Koraidon. Tera Dark helps Calyrex-S win in the mirrror, while Psychic allows for Calyrex-S to threaten Zamazenta-C better in Psychic Terrain. These two offensive threats are paired with a double redirection core of Indeedee-F and Brute Bonnet, which limits opponents abilities to remove the pair quickly. Brute Bonnet's Spore and Indeedee-F's Imprison Trick Room means that opponents cannot reliably use a Trick Room mode in order to beat the fast restricteds on this team. The team is rounded off with a Flutter Mane + Chi-Yu core, which can leverage their speed and power to overwhelm opponents. They both benefit greatly from Koraidon's Sun, as it activates Flutter Mane's Protosynthesis and powers up Chi-Yu's Fire-type STABs.
