GDI. I also just noticed that I didn't include SE damage on Psychic. I've fixed the damage calcs and HP totals. That's what I get for rushing to get the post up after waiting too long :(

Alright everyone, we hope you are enjoying this beginner's match, as Valentine continues to square off against Alurani. Alurani holds on to the lead in terms of health, and has managed to negate the opponent's hopes of poisoning the entire team thus far. Will Valentine be able to take control of the match? Let's see what happens;

Valentine takes the initiative, hoping to use status against Alurani, much as she did against him, by shooting Sleep Powder at the Budew. But she was able to see it coming, and puts up a Protective barrier before the spores get there, so she doesn't fall asleep.

Alurani drops the barrier and immediately Bombs Valentine with more toxic Sludge, hitting the eggs for super effective damage. But Valentine returns fire immediately with a Psychic blast of his own, also nailing Alurani for super effective damage! Not only that, but it looks like that blast loosened up Alurani's defenses for future psychic and similar attacks. You could say her Special Defense dropped! This is gonna be intense folks!!

Alurani hates being hit, so as soon as she recovers from the hit, she fires off Sleep Powder of her own back at Valentine, who is unable to dodge!! He falls asleep once again, this time into an Intense Sleep, oh no! Poor Valentine keeps getting stuck with all kinds of problems with sleep, doesn't he?

This match-up is still too close to call, who will take the lead? The hard working and multi-brained Valentine, or the deceptively devilish Alurani? There's only one way to find out folks, and that's to stay with us after the break, when Maxim issues Alurani orders!

Also, we all discussed this already, but Maxim's deadline will be Thursday, and Temp's deadline will be the Thursday after that. I figure'd I'd put it here in the thread so I don't forget why you guys aren't posting.

Well, I am back at least!

Anyway, you are doing awesome Alurani! Let's take advantage of this free turn to set up some Spikes for the opposition to deal with. Then, hit him with a nice Sludge Bomb. Finish off with a Double Team of four clones.

Welcome back folks, as we continue this beginner's battle between Temperantia and Maxim. I'm sure you've all been waiting, let's dive back into the action!!

Alurani the Budew takes advantage of the fact that Valentine the Exeggcute is asleep and hopes to set up entry hazards, similarly to how his opponents tried to do against her team, by shooting Spikes around Valentine's side.

Alurani once again takes the initiative, and fires off a Sludge Bomb at Valentine. The hit wakes up the sleeping eggs, and he's certainly startled. He immediately blasts Alurani with Psychic in hopes of evening the odds.

Alurani realizes that she needs to prevent damage to herself, so she runs around like a maniac until she somehow Teams up with herself to Double in number, and then again, until there are four clones. Valentine also takes the opportunity to prevent damage, setting up a Light Screen.

Alright, let's dive straight back into this intense match-up!

Alurani seeks to set up against Valentine's team, similar to how Medea tried to set up against her team, and shoots out more Spikes that will hurt Valentine's teammates when they enter the battle. Valentine doesn't much appreciate that, and it seems he somehow managed to notice exactly which one of the Alurani fired the spikes, and he nails her with a Psychic blast, hitting her hard, and dissipating all the clones!! Now that was impressive aim!

Alurani feels a desperate need for more time, so she fires off another Sleep Powder at Valentine, putting him to sleep once again. You gotta think he'd be tired of being so tired... He sleeps it off, I suppose.

Alurani sets up even more, firing off another round of Spikes around Valentine's side of the field, Anyone who switches in that side from here on out is gonna feel the pain! Valentine does manage to wake up pretty quickly, and blasts Alurani with another Psychic blast!! The hit is so strong that Alurani falls over, Alurani has been KO'ed!! It looks like Valentine has really turned the match around in the favor of his team! But hey, speaking of Valentine, it looks like that Psychic was his last move, he's fallen over from using up all his energy, Valentine has been KO'ed!!

Alright, both trainers will be switching in new pokemon! Temperantia, you switch in your new pokemon, then Maxim will bring in a new pokemon with orders, then Temperantia will issue orders.

Ok then Nora. Let's do this!

Nora: Hmm, not too sure about this...

Maxim: Ah don't worry, it's a grass type, how hard can it be?

Nora: Oh no, why did you have to tempt fate?

Maxim: Don't be superstitious, start with a 25 HP Substitute to avoid any Encoring antics, then go for a Will-o-Wisp, then finish with a Psychic attack.

Alright, Trainer Laharl enters the match for team Temperantia, sending out Iris, a Hoppip, who manages to avoid the spikes Alurani set up. Maxim, flying solo, sends out his next pokemon, a Larvesta, who goes by the name Nora. Let's see what these two have up their sleeves for each other!

Nora, well aware that Hoppip like to use status conditions, starts things off by setting up a Substitute to protect herself from any such attacks. Iris sees a gaping flaw in her plan, however, and exploits it by cheering on Nora, encoring her into doing that one move over and over. And what do you know, Subs don't block encore. Nora hears the cheering and agrees to try setting up more substitutes.

In fact, that's exactly what she does. She tries to weave another Sub, but it fails. Iris takes advantage of the pause in action to show off her incredible Acrobatics to the crowd, who are eating up the performance. So much so, that they pelt Nora's Sub with food trash, almost enough to break the Sub. Now now, everyone. Let's not get involved in the match! But do remember to buy more concessions at our food and drink stands scattered throughout the park!! :naughty:

Nora tries once more to set up a Substitute, but the old one is still intact, so it fails. Nora does finally come to her senses, and she's ready to get her revenge on Iris for that dirty trick. Iris is all too happy to oblige Nora, and sets up the one weather they both appreciate; it's now a bright and Sunny Day here at Sunny Park Colosseum!

By the way, Temperantia, Laharl and Lenneth are brother and sister, right? Which one is which?

"I dare say, I am Laharl, the rightful owner of Iris and Pazuzu."

"And I own Valentine and Medea. Of course we're bloody brother and sister!"

"Now, now Lenneth, keep your temper down. Anyways, start with Seed Bomb, Iris! Follow up with a Sleep Powder and a Stun Spore! Replace Sleep Powder with Encore, and Stun Spore with Acrobatics if a Substitute is protecting Nora."

Maxim's rage was unleashed!

You can't just do that to me, I was using substitute and it's unfair that you can encore right through my sub and...

Nora: I don't know what he's blabbering about, I like making substitutes for my fans :D.

Sunny Day for 3 Rounds

Iris, now the faster of the two pokemon thanks to the Sunny Day effect, decides to break Nora's sub by firing a Seed Bomb, which does just enough to break the sub, so good work, Iris! Nora doesn't really seem to notice, and just chills.

Iris tries to take advantage of Nora's lapse in attention by putting her to sleep with Sleep Powder. Look out Nora!! Whew, she turns just in time to put up a Protective barrier to block the Powder. What's that? Yes, I know I'm not...just let me finish this round! Jeez!!

Sorry about that folks. Anyway, Iris goes for a slightly different tactic this time, covering Nora with a Stun Spore, that'll very likely hinder Nora down the road in this match! Nora tries to protect herself from future status by creating yet another Substitute, although using less health this time.

Now if you'll excuse me folks, I'm being pulled aside for disciplinary actions for shouting to the combatants, interfering in the match.

Sunny Day for 2 Rounds

Hello everyone, I'm back from being written up for my actions, and I see I'm just in time to continue calling this match!

Iris noticed Nora just set up a Substitute, you know what that means. Yup, Iris Encores Nora into creating more substitutes. I'm not so sure it worked yet, but Nora was fully paralyzed!!

Iris chills out, recovering energy for future challenges. Possibly Nora? Not yet, as it turns out the Encore worked, Nora tried to make another Substitute, but guess what happened? It failed.

Iris once again performs some incredible Acrobatics, and the crowd reacts once again by pelting Nora's Substitute with trash and food. This time, enough to break the sub this time! Oh come on! I yell, I get pulled aside, those guys are actually getting involved in the match, and you guys aren't even doing a thing?!? Whatever. Nora quickly replaces the Substitute, although it doesn't look like that was a good idea...Nora has exhausted all her energy, Nora has been KO'ed!! Oh dear! Let's review how that happened;

Sunny Day for 1 Round

Maxim sends Kimli as his last pokemon, as I continue to struggle with the identities of the members of Team Temperantia!! Iris dominated Nora, will she continue to have such luck against Kimli, or will Kimli turn things around for Maxim? Let's find out;

Iris continues to inflict status on everything around her, sending a Sleep Powder at Kimli, putting him to sleep for a few actions. Man, that Hoppip is overpowered! I'm recommending Hoppip be banned next SotG! (Not really) Kimli sleeps it off.

Iris, able to discern who her trainer is, follows the commands given to her perfectly, and fires some Leech Seeds at Kimli. The Munchlax stays asleep. It looks like he's stirring, he should wake up soon!!

Iris realizes that too, so she readies yet another status, and covers the still-sleeping Kimli with Poison Powder, poisoning the young Kimli. If only it were Snorlax, it would have Immunity!! The poor little guy finally comes to, and fires a Flamethrower at Iris, finally dealing damage to her.
