If I had to rank the styles, xzern > faint > Gato > Todd. About the JPI mentality, I think it's good to have if your already an experienced poster and automatically think of what's likely to be a good post and what isn't. However I wouldn't reccomend the strategy to newer posters, simply due to the lack of experience, the first post idea you think of is unlikely to be a good one.

wow, I didn't understand this thread at first. But, after watching the latest episode of the smogoffcast, it all makes sense. This thread really was revolutionary.

There is no best style. Smogon is a community and everyones contributions complement each other to create this overarching wonderful experience.
