Flavor:
Two nearly-fresh Pokemon face off here in ASB Arena, with one more waiting in the wings for each team. So far it looks like a fairly close match. Blade, looking to change that, goes for the priority attack with Shadow Sneak, dealing slightly more damage than Guard Star's counter in Shadow Ball. He then takes another Shadow Ball and gets off a Shadow Claw. By now, all these Shadow moves are getting confusing. However, there is more to come, as both Pokemon decide they like the way action 1 went, so Blade once again uses Shadow Sneak while Zeruda fires off yet another Ball of Shadow, but they do not get a duplicate, as Blade lands a critical hit.

Flavor:
As soon as this round begins, Blade decides to be aggressive, going directly for a Shadow Claw. In the face of such aggression, Guard Star decides that his time has come, but attempts to take his opponent down with him, and so he creates a Bond of Destiny between himself and Blade. Blade, however, isn't worried, Sneaking through the Shadows in order to surprise Guard Star. Guard Star is worried, but Calms his Mind, eliminating all sources of distraction. Blade then lets up, Protecting himself from the oncoming Shadow Ball.

Flavor:
Zeruda sends in Warrior Star, who hits the floor running, creating an artificial Blizzard, just getting it in as Blade makes a Substitute. Warrior Star finishes off with yet another Blizzard, one again being exposed to the full force of Blade's Brick Break.
