Introduction

So it's been kinda a hot minute since I did a RMT here. I always wondered "How would a Latios Double Specs team work" and so I got my own answer. I compiled this team a few days ago and I've been loving it a lot. Specs Latios + Tusk is a very fun core to play around with, as Latios brings in STAB Draco Meteors from below and trick for stallers. Great Tusk on the other hand files as the spinner and hazard remover himself with access to stealth rock and hlr.
So, How does this team go? Let's get started, everyone.
The Team
Fastim (Latios) (M) @ Choice Specs
Ability: Levitate
Tera Type: Dragon
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Draco Meteor
- Luster Purge
- Aura Sphere
- Trick
The mascot. the big jet himself. Latios is here to be the primary wall breaker and sweeper of this team. Choice Specs allows Latios to check threats like Landorus-T, Zapdos, Moltres and defensive mons like Ting-Lu. STAB Draco Meteor and Luster Purge drops in huge damage combined with Specs, making it one of the big threats on the team. 4 Sp. Def are to take special hits a little better. Tera Dragon for Draco Meteor OHKOs. Aura Sphere for Kingambit predictions, Tera Dark users and Steel types like Iron Treads, and Rock types like Garg and Ice types like Kyurem. Trick is for crippling stall users like Dondozo and Blissey.
Tuskly (Great Tusk) @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Protosynthesis
Tera Type: Steel
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Headlong Rush
- Ice Spinner
- Rapid Spin
- Stealth Rock
The stealth rock setter of this team and the spinner. Great Tusk is here to set the rocks and rapid spin those hazards away. Headlong Rush is a devastating STAB option, while Ice Spinner handles the Dragon-types and Flying-types like Dragonite, Gliscor, Enamorus etc. Rapid Spin is to get hazards off the field and keep the momentum. Straight-forward EVs whlist having Tera Steel to stop the Ice and Grass weakness.
Fianna (Enamorus) (F) @ Choice Specs
Ability: Contrary
Tera Type: Fairy
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Moonblast
- Earth Power
- Mystical Fire
- Healing Wish
Enamorus is the other special wall breaker of this team and the other choice specs user. Moonblast is a powerful STAB move especially when paired with Specs, and it is used to revenge-kill Iron Valiant as it is a major threat for this team. Moonblast allows Enamorus to even 2HKO Ting-Lu and specially defensive mons. Earth Power is for the Poison-types like Galarian Slowking, Pecharunt, Iron Moth and Tera Poison users like Darkrai, Hisuian Samurott and Clefable. Mystical Fire helps deal with Gholdengo and Corviknight. Healing Wish offers support to the team and keeps the match momentum up. Tera Fairy powers up Moonblast damage to enable sweeps. Timid nature for the average speed stuff.
Carvy (Ogerpon-Wellspring) (F) @ Wellspring Mask
Ability: Water Absorb
Tera Type: Water
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Ivy Cudgel
- Power Whip
- Knock Off
- Spikes
I wanted a spike setter and knocker for this team so I went with Wellspring. Ogerpon-W is the spike setter of this team especially when combined with a great typing and 2 moves (Spikes and Knock Off). Ivy Cudgel and Power Whip are powerful STAB moves that even OHKO physically defensive mons. Spikes are self-explanatory (obviously), while Knock Off is to pressure Heavy-Duty Boots users like Clefable, Cinderace, Moltres, Great Tusk, you know it to hurt them with spikes more. Due to Water Asborb, it is also my best Woger switch in. Tera Water to power Ivy Cudgel up.
Demon-Man (Kingambit) @ Leftovers
Ability: Supreme Overlord
Tera Type: Ghost
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Sucker Punch
- Kowtow Cleave
- Iron Head
He's here to sweep teams in the late game. Kingambit is the other sweeper of the team. I chose this mon due to it's ghost resist and obvious dengo switch-in, whlist having huge damage potential to sweep in the late-game. Swords Dance to boost it's already high attack stat to higher levels. Sucker Punch is STAB priority and Kowtow Cleave to predict set-up moves just in case Sucker Punch has a situation where it will fail. Iron Head is also STAB (pretty self-explanatory), while Ghost Tera on fighting-types to set up SD. Leftovers to increase longetivity.
Pulster (Dragapult) @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Infiltrator
Tera Type: Fairy
EVs: 60 Atk / 196 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
- Dragon Darts
- Hex
- Will-O-Wisp
- U-turn
Pivot? Yes. Tusk Switch In? Yes. This bastard is the team's pivot, combined with U-turn and Will-O-Miss Shenanigans. I tend to send him out when I see a physical attacker (for burn, but maybe u-turn when I can expect this dude to die). Dragon Darts is obvious Dragon STAB, while Hex is often used when paired with Will-O-Wisp for it's best source of damage. Will-o-Wisp and U-Turn are obvious. Tera Fairy for dragon immunity as the standard point (just in case, it's like an emergency button).
The Threats
Once Iron Valiant is sent into the battle, it enables a team sweep. Especially when paired with either swords dance or calm mind. The best bet to get rid of this mf is to switch in Enamorus to click specs moonblast.
Dragonite is another problem for this team. Dragon Dance allows dragonite to sweep after 2 boosts, primarily with extreme speed or earthquake. Obvious plan is the same as the valiant plan. I could also go Tera Fairy Dragapult for this.
Yes, you heard me right. 4/6 of this team is weak to Ice. The best options I can do to get rid of this lil' fella is obviously well, Click Tera on Tusk and hope to OHKO it with headlong rush. My team has other counters to this mon, but Tusk is the obvious counter I'm talking about here.
Conclusion
Sooo... this team can be fixed, right?
Yea, this team can definitely be fixed. If I can ever climb to 1900+ ELO with this team this might show proof that Latios is actually decent. I wanna mess around with Latias next after messing around with Latios for maybe the next RMT.
For the closing thoughts, I'd like to say that this was the most interesting team I've definitely ever made. If you wanna let me know what I should fix, comment below.
Thanks for coming to my RMT.
t44Torkoal out!
and one more thing
I have a few replays. I am still stuck in low ladder hell and I am a very bad player so I'll link them.
