The Everything NHL Thread

Either way we leave the benders for everyone else. The best thing to do CK is set that autodraft ranking system to value all the players you want in the order you would want them!

Does anyone have a summary of the draft? I'm kinda curious as to how everything went.

Also, autopick didn't screw me over too badly. I'm a bit lacking in the G and LW departments but I think I'm otherwise solid. A few acquisitions couldn't hurt. =)

If you click on Draft Central there's a round by round and team by team summary, think that's what you're looking for.

Kind of fun that I really didn't have one of the better drafts this year, it'll be interesting to have to make some fairly major changes to have a shot at winning... preferably starting with moving Malkin. He just looks funny :(

The only summary you need is that Mike Brodeur went 9th overall. If you want to upgrade your goalie department, i'm quite sure he comes cheap.

Bahahahaha.

Again, if no one has approached you with a trade for Malkin, I'll go for it ;)

Edit: I was meh with my draft. Obviously drafting Elias while overlooking Carter and Richards was a big fucking mistake. But other than that, my D looks decent, with Spacek, Souray, and Erhoff. I'm banking on Vancouver doing very very very very well this year, with the Sedins scoring like it's the apocalypse the next season, and for Iginla to get his 100 points, (unlike last season, where he bombed for me)

I've shot a couple offers out and received one, but feel free and shoot me something - although as a general comment to anyone who wants to deal for him, it's very difficult for me to accept a deal where I'm not getting a #1 RW and a center of reasonable quality back since those are my two big holes right now - doesn't make much sense to trade a Malkin if I'm not filling team needs, and with as good as the big 3 are relative to everyone else...

Pity you didn't snag one of the Flyers centers though, would make it a hell of a lot easier to work out a deal, lol. Though a deal involving Iginla would always be possible...

EDIT: It's more difficult to work this out than I expected, eyeballed it and it was like "lol wanna just swap the core of our teams with a 4 for 4??", maybe you'll have more luck than I did, lol. FWIW everyone is tradable but I'm not planning on trading the goalies unless it's to upgrade them and I'd prefer to hold Pronger, Selanne, Koivu(aren't I suppose to hate those two teams?), and Vanek

Rate my team in the other league I'm in (will post draft results if wanted)!

So in no particular order, here it is:

Code:
C - Nicklas Backstrom
C - Brad Richards
C - Saku Koivu
LW - Ilya Kovalchuk
LW - Alex Burrows
LW - Pierre-Marc Bouchard
RW - Dustin Brown
RW - Marian Hossa
RW - Ales Hemsky
D - Drew Doughty
D - Victor Hedman
D - Erik Johnson
D - Kris Letang
G - Ryan Miller
G - Carey Price
BN - Pekka Rinne (G)
BN - Ville Leino (LW)
BN - Nikita Filatov (LW)
BN - Tyler Bozak (C)
BN - Blake Wheeler (RW)
12 team H2H, 3 C/LW/RW, 4 D, 2 G, 5 BN. I went all rookie D (except Letang and somewhat Johnson/Doughty) mainly because this league is full of forward whores, and going after high end defencemen may cost me a top forward.

My team

Code:
C/LW - Patrick Elias
C - Henrik Sedin
C - Anze Kopitar
C - Ryan Kesler
LW - Daniel Sedin
LW - Rick Nash
RW - Jarome Iginla
RW - Alex Kovalev
RW - Joffrey Lupul
RW - Blake Wheeler
D - Sheldon Souray
D - Christian Ehrhoff
D - Jaroslav Spacek
D - Brent Seabrook
G - Carey Price
G - Jonas Hiller
Look at this list, I'm having imbalances in my C and RW. 4 RW isn't too healthy. Nor is having 3 centres and 1 LW/C that's out. I really really really want to trade for a decent left winger for a right winger to balance things out.

@Teifu I am considering your trade right now. Thinking up a counter, because I'm not comfortable with having Hedjuk.

Edit: @Teifu. It's a pity you don't have a second tier defencemen. You have Pronger, Lidstrom, AND Gonchar, but I really don't want Hedman.

Edit: @Teifu, is it okay if I send 2 RWs for one RW and one LW? When I look ahead on my schedule, the 4 RWs keep conflicting.

It's not likely I'll accept 2 RWs in a counter since then I end up with the same problem you have, but feel free and shoot an offer and I'll see if I can work off it.

If anyone's looking for a high risk high reward FA pickup right now, I have a hunch that Sergei Shirokov will be the Sedins' winger to start the year.

It's either him, Sammuelsson, or Burrows I hear =3

Big debate about that:

Burrows= 30 goals and awesome season because he played with the Sedin twins.

Samuelsson= played with Sedins extremely extremely well during the Olympics.

Shirokov = Good all around player, has played well with the twins so far.

Personally I think it'll be Burrows who'll play with the twins.
