The Everything NHL Thread

I wanna see more of that. Goalies coming out of their nets really need to be hit, especially if the goalie is named Luongo (take that, articuno :P). I'm not saying to blast them scott stevens style, but just a little hit to remind them that they should be in their little crease and think twice before wandering.

Goalies are such crybaby bitches (ex. Roloson). I am pretty sick of them crying because someone touches them and then claiming it threw them off their game.

DM: It looks like Buffalo is probably sitting this playoffs out, barring some huge surge from them and a slump by one of the teams they are chasing...:(

Personally I think its classless to hit a goalie and if you do when they are out playing the puck you deserve to end up like steve moore, also you will notice that none of the profile players or those who have any character at all will hit a goalie and instead it is usually the goons and bad hockey players that do.

Excuse me? They deserve to have their career ruined and life changed forever because of a hit in a hockey game?

It's in the rules. I'm not saying to spam goalies with big hits, but a little bump now and then can lead to a pretty stinky goal which at times can be a huge deal. It also might prevent wandering goalie syndrome, which can be a pain in the ass when playing the omnipresent dump and chase.

I accepted that fact weeks ago. Not even a miraculous Miller return can save us now. All I want is Vanek to get 40.

Scott Gomez. :pirate::pirate::pirate:

Speaking of Luongo getting run, if I'm Steve Ott I make pretty sure I slam his head hard enough into the post I pop his helmet off crashing the net after that hit. What a joke.

I bet Sean Avery would have gone after him...

Steve Ott has already tried to injure about 4 Canucks in the last two times we've played Dallas. Even after the hit on Turco, it's not even.

May as well because the goalies coming out to play the puck that have been hit hard have had their careers ruined by the hits...
For example, Steve McKichan had his retina detached on a hit from behind when he played the puck. May as well ruin the guy that hit hims career since the goalies career is over...eye for an eye in my book. Like I said, I normally wouldnt be too angry about shit like that but it is completely classless to hit a goalie no matter what unless it is a fight or unless they take cheapshots.

Though I do remember Turco attempting to body check someone once.

a dirty hit is a dirty hit dude and shouldn't be allowed on anyojne. I never once said that I support nasty hits on goalies.

Even so, if dump and chase is a style of play, which it is, the goalies should be able to help prevent it and the use of the trapezoid is there to stop them from playing a lot of it. If you cant dump the puck into the non trapezoidal areas behind the goal line you deserve to have the goalie factor in.

I never said it would stop them, it just might make them think twice before going in every single time as an example of the benefits. Plus wandering goalie syndrome sucks.

Roloson should get delay of game for crying so much as well.

Articuno good news the flames are still trying their best to make 6th place in the west...

They just lost 2-0 to fucking Pittsburgh. Vancouver now is 3 pts down and a game at hand, the flames can't keep going on hoping vancouver will lose. Honestly the flames are falling apart defensively and they won't last long even if they get 3rd, cause whatever team claws to 6th will likely be on some kind of a tear in the west.

DM: did you see the back and forth between Mr. Ruff and Afinogenov, the worlds most consistently inconsistent player ever? Just you wait, they will be lucky to get a 2nd round for him in the off season and that'll be it for him. If he ends up in a place with a little support, I can very well see him reinventing his game and turning into the player everyone wants him to be...and I'm saying this as a huge Afinogenov fan :(

Edit: watch for Dion Phaneuf to be shopped around in the summer. He's shitty now but the league doesn't know it yet so we may get something good...

flames are down 3-0 against columbus, they aren't even trying defensively. So yeah, looks like calgary is opening the door right up for vancouver to win a couple, take the lead in the division and still be even on games.

Articuno I really hope you enjoy your teams division title this year.

Edit: 5-0 against columbus. that's two shut outs in a row against the flames; is it the flames yearly mandate to lose their way into playoffs? pathetic. Simply pathetic.

I have been watching Pittsburgh lately and they have looked better then their team last year, I honestly think its going to be either them or NJ coming out of the east this year.

I don't know that they would try to trade Phaneuf. They've invested far too much in him to just axe him now, i think he is more offensively oriented anyways, and if we are still talking about what I am thinking we are, they need to make moves around their other D because you have to have at least one offensive defenseman on a team in your top 4.

The only reason they'd trade Phaneuf would be to make room for Cammalleri. In other news, Calgary seems to be getting some help.

oh for fucks sake, there seems to be a neverending parade of stupid hockey fans, especially from Canada.

Yeah they may trade phaneuf to make cap room and because he's tit useless this year. The club also has a policy of trading away people who are unplesant in the locker room, such as Savard and St. Louis were said to be. Phaneuf is a giant prick, apparently he does shit like refusing to pay for drinks at bars.

Somehow I doubt this because he would get his ass kicked by one of the scrappers on the team for it and also would have been gone long before now like at the deadline for some good players or something.
