I guess you're right there, their goaltending is atrocious. The loss of Leopold didn't help them much either, since he's been arguably the best flames defenseman through this stretch, though that may not reflect in the stats he defends better than most. That can't be a good loss for any team trying to win...

Do you think they are intentionally being lousy to try to get a good draft? It's not unheard of to try to sneak that in.
 
if the red wings win this game it will be because of that sick 3rd goal by johan franzen inspiring the team

edit: so I have backes on my public team not kessel and his 4 goals tonight sure does help out my championship run

vancouver loses and now draws even with flames in points (but not wins) and flames take the lead!

This will be a recurring theme in my posts until calgary plays vancouver that one final time, I estimate that game to be the decider.
 
Jesus, Ryan Smyth out for the rest of the season. I need a new LW now, and looks like slim pickings =[ Who should I grab from this list (just naming noteables):

Cory Stillman
Antoine Vermette
Jordan Staal
Sergei Samsonov
Nikita Filatov
Matt Cooke (mainly for PIMs)

Kozlov if he is available, Booth or Bertuzzi could work as well
 
3 games in 3 goals have been called back for the flames. Well, the one on minnesota was just thanks to an early whistle that was uncalled for...man thanks alot NHL.
 
Naslund would probably be a good choice. Also, the Wings have this thing where if they suck the last few weeks before playoffs they win, and if they dont suck they lose quickly. Who knows though.

Yeah I think that's the flames current plan, to drop to 7th and take on the wings first round.

Edit: Actually, as a detroit fan (or a fan of any team) I'd love to play the flames right now. They have Aucoin, Regehr and Sarich all injured, so their Defense is even more of a cluster fuck than ever. Their offense has been shut out in 3/4 of their last 4 games. That is fucking outrageous, this is a team that is just begging to be an effective free round for whoever they play.

True but as long as Kiprusoff is healthy they scare me. I'd much rather have them face Luongo or Nabokov.
