February 2, 5:24 pmAlso that depends on how much you are going to stream against me...
  • Psycho's OKAYers

February 2, 5:36 pmbut really i dunno i guess well see how i pans out, my guess is i iwll have very timely unlucky injuries that will hurt me come playoff time since i havent really ran into any BAD luck yet
  • Glorious_Shizzle

February 2, 7:54 pmlol you guys are so melodramatic with your "streaming" jabs...I mean we have a 5 add / drop limitation for a reason...
  • Psycho's OKAYers

February 3, 6:34 amYeah but using all 5 or even part of the 5 so blatantly in an attempt to win stats...its just a gentlemans rule that you obviously didnt care to follow since you posted about understanding it earlier
  • Glorious_Shizzle

February 3, 8:38 amwhen I posted beore the season I meant more the streaming of like 4 guys everyday; i specifically stated that I wanted to be able to drop/add one guy a day, which is why I wanted the limit to be 7
  • Psycho's OKAYers

February 4, 9:40 amthat is still such a ridiculous amount of players and bullshit. There really is no skill involved in fantasy if you just stream average players and the get points. If you were going vin style id be o
  • Psycho's OKAYers

February 4, 9:40 amk, but you arent so I think its pretty cheap and like i said, you break a gentlemans rule by doing it but whatever, when the move limit for the season is 50 next year good luck
  • Glorious_Shizzle

February 4, 10:52 amblah blah blah you guys bitch bitch bitch whine whine whine moan moan moan
  • Psycho's OKAYers

February 4, 3:00 pmand its funny because you bitch and whine too but unlike you no one else is streaming so when we have poor weeks we have the right to bitch while streaming bad players in for last minute stats gives y
  • Psycho's OKAYers

February 4, 3:00 pmou no right at all
  • Psycho's OKAYers

February 4, 3:01 pmits good that you are an amazing fantasy owner, you own ovechkin and still need to stream players because you cannot properly manage a team!
I find this really funny
Which brings me to my next point, the wings are in the chase for the western conference title, so I think that they should just start streaming players from free agents so that they can get extra points. Thoughts? Oh wait, they cant do that because no form of streaming exists at all in the real NHL!

Yeah baby the Canucks won a game, Sundin first star, woooo

Sadly though, the game was barely won. They're obviously trying really hard but there are way to many plugs on the team for them to pull anything off. Watch the Chicago game be a complete blowout...

Kesler/Sundin/Demitra was a solid line though hopefully The Juggler will actually keep this line together. Burrows/Johnson/Wellwood was alright too, but Vignault needs to learn that Taylor Pyatt does not belong on the top line. Wellwood has 14 goals this year, most IIRC came while playing with the Sedins. Send Pyatt down to the fourth line, move Bernier up with Johnson and Burrows, and put Wellwood with the Sedins. Maybe even move Bernier up with the Sedins as he's been playing well as of late and deserves a second chance. He's really strong and can provide the presence in front of the net along with a set of hands (which Taylor Pyatt surely lacks).

Also, I really hope the 'Nucks use that $6mil they have left to pick up a good D-man. A good puck mover that can also play some solid D would be wonderful. Jay Bouwmeester, please. :D

I think Kaberle will be more realistic I don't think they will be trading Bouwmeester while in the hunt for a playoff spot.

I think they have to trade Bouwmeester though, he has said he wants to be in a hockey hub, not florida. So I think if they dont, they will get nothing for him and from that end, they have to realize that they have a slim chance of even getting out of the first round so...

No, they'll trade him, but as late as possible. As for Tomas Kaberle, that depends on his play after he comes off the IR. If he plays bad, less people will want him, and he'll probably be moved in the summer.

The thing is, to get Bouwmeester, Vancouver will probably have to give up a big prospect (Cody Hodgson).

Fuck that shit. Cody is a-mazing. He is the future of the organization.

I was more or less talking about signing him during the offseason. The Canucks won't be able to do anything this post-season, I'm hardly expecting them to make the playoffs :/

This season I would like to see Vancouver just get through it while staying over .500. Then, when they fail to make an impact The Juggler will get fired, hopefully someone like Pat Quinn will come coach and then Cody Hodgson will be ready for the NHL. Shaun Heshka also looks promising on the blueline. Then, the Canucks will hopefully re-sign Burrows and the Sedins (no matter how much everyone hates them, they are good for the organization.) and then let Mattias Ohlund and Taylor Pyatt go. Also keep in mind that the Canucks have some expendable trade bait in Mason Raymond and the only people who should care if Bieska leaves are stupid fangirls.

tl;dr I really only care about the future of the franchise, and this season is already over IMO. Unless they actually make the playoffs and can win a round, this season has been quite a dissappointment.

He has never said that but its what the media is all saying because he only signed a one year deal. That is the problem for Florida though is that he hasn't gone either way and their in a tough position because of the fact that he is there best player and they are very much in a playoff hunt. After 9 years of missing the playoffs I am sure they are desperate for some playoff revenue and if it doesn't work out can't they trade his rights prior to July 1st like they did with Luongo?

PS: Cody Hodgson was the MVP of the OHL All-Star game, 3 goals and 2 assists in the 11-6 victory for the East.

Best draft choice the Canucks have ever made? Looking that way :)

Nah let's just "trade" the Florida Panthers franchise to some other city instead.

Hey along with it, let's do the same with Phoenix, Nashville, Tampa Bay, Atlanta & Raleigh.

Better yet, lets remove those franchises entirely, going back to a healthier 24 teams format and lets dump the Red Wings in the eastern conference to make everything work.

Finally, let's take a few years after that to re-expend to 30 teams, this time by taking full advantage of a big hockey market still left unexploited by the NHL : Europe, by opening a division there with teams in cities in Sweden, Finland, Germany, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Switzerland and possibly Russia.

Let's become the first NA league to become bicontinental before the NBA steals this from us.

Most likely, but I think they would be able to get far better options and picks at the deadline rather than after the season, especially with how he has been playing.

I think the travel costs associated with this would be prohibitive, although I wouldn't mind a sister all-Europe league forming, with the champions of both leagues going head to head for another trophy at the end of the season. The only negative I can think of is less reason for European players to come over here and play, perhaps lessening the talent pool.

Time to project the bottom 6! Very important when it comes down to the Tavares/Hedman sweepstakes. So these are the teams who are most likely going to be the bottom 6 (in no particular order) and I will describe who they will likely draft of the two:

New York Islanders - Tavares

Islanders are weak everywhere, especially with DiPietro gone. They have Streit, who will work wonders for the offence/PP, but not much else in the back end worth listing. Their best forwards are pretty seasoned, and they need an exciting player to revive the franchise.

Atlanta Thrashers - Tavares

Atlanta have some good defencemen who will put up points (Bogosian, Enstrom, Hainsey), and others who can play a shutdown defence. The main reason to grab Tavares is to prepare the franchise of the loss of Ilya Kovalchuk (if he decides to leave). Another reason is because of the lack of offence from the forwards. Atlanta only really has 1 productive line (which for whatever reason doesn't involve Kovalchuk). Tavares would certainly help this, as well as the coming of Angelo Esposito.

Tampa Bay Lightning - Hedman

Tampa has a lot of forwards who have the capability of scoring, but the same cannot be said about their defence. With the loss of Dan Boyle, they don't really have a player who can run the point on the power play (well they have Cory Murphy <_<), and so on. Hedman also adds size and mobility to the defence, which TB needs.

Toronto Maple Leafs - Tavares

"Our only top 6 forward is Nik Antropov" - Cliff Fletcher

Ottawa Senators - Hedman

No real puck moving defencemen, maybe Kuba...Although they could use more scoring depth, a defencemen (in Ottawa's case) is more important.

St. Louis Blues - ??????

They could really go either way with this. They have some very promising forwards (Oshie, Berglund, etc.) as well as defencemen (Johnson, Pietrangelo, etc.)

To me, defensemen always were players not talented enough to be forwards....... Back when I played hockey, I would have taken it as an insult to be told to play defense (as in play the defenseman position).

Yes I'm heavily biased towards forward, always underrated defensemen and likely always will. Still, the number 1 pick better be Tavares. To me, it seems it is easier to train a big defenseman to fit a role than to inject Tavares-like talent in a foward.

I'll still say it again for kicks: players with amazing talent do not become defensemen (I have no need of a list of all talented Ds now).

Jerk I play D for my university. However, I get moved up to forward on occasion and last time I was up i had 2 goals and 1 assist in 2 shifts (1 minute of ice time)

Also Florida is now up 3 points on both Pittsburgh and Carolina assuming they don't come back with 2 games is hand.

Its going to be really tough for either of those teams to catch them if last year was any indication.

I guess defencemen aren't as exciting as the forwards, but it's a lot harder to play defence than it is to play forward.

P.S. Woo 400th post, I'll take any of you to a Leafs game =D

Backchecking is no fun, I have to do it because usually I play on teams that spell defence without the D. Granted, in floor hockey, not ice hockey.

Hey guys, I love hockey but I never do get to watch it. That's because gay espn doesn't cover it enough and the only channel get that has games is versus.:(

But anyway, how are the sharks doing? I knew at one point they had the best record.
