The Everything NHL Thread

Posting to say it doesn't matter to me what we do but if someone could decide in the near future about the league that'd be great cause I don't want to waste an hour or two going over my draft kit...
 
I think we really need to crack down on the roster size fairly soon (if not immediately) as we still haven't really decided a draft time (and it's halfway through September).
 
Connection issues when trying to connect to WER :( I probably would have gotten my ass handed badly, but its a shame I couldnt play.
 
if you guys on irc come to some sort of a consensus let me know, although I think it is fair to say we are sticking with 12/auction/keeper based on what the majority of people want

we just need to decide the last two (i am impartial) and the draft time (let me know if the current day i have it on is good, then we can work out the time)

i check this thread every day but yeah irc is hard these days so keep me posted
 
I'm not going to be bale to draft earlier than 10pm,if that's the date we have agreed on.

Also, i'm voting for gouki and pookar as our last two.
 
A little late getting back to posting about this, but:

Gouki was pretty much unanimously desired, Eradd pretty much unanimously voted against

As far as the last slot, Carl/Paul/Green/I voted for Psycho, WER/Justin for pookar, Vineon abstain, don't think I talked to aldaron or cashew

we really, really need to make this happen like right now, season only a couple weeks away, gotta get draft time hammered out so people can make sure they can be there.
 
Doodled options. If however you decide to draft earlier on the day (starting 13:00 - 16:00 Eastern time (+6 hours for me so currently it would be 8:41 eastern when posting this I think), then I could make all days besides wednesday/friday since our own hockey games are then.
 
So far there is no time on the poll that all of us are available at. The best range is Saturday from 11pm-2am, but that excludes Jackal and wer.
 
I guess were still waiting on a decision to be made?

Like I said earlier, id like to know as soon as possible so I can go over my draft stuff without wasting my time going over it only to find out I'm not drafting or playing...
 
I'll vote for psycho then because he seems to want to play, and for seniority. Don't make me regret that by going inactive 8(
 
I changed my mind and throw in my vote for pookar, because he's a friend. I'd also vote him over Gouki, but I believe you guys decided he would be in it.

It was pretty stupid of me to abstain, as my non-vote can turn out as decisive as a vote. I'd rather make a difference, if I make any, by voting than by not voting.

Realizing that evens the vote and before someones decides to go the status-quo route, in light of precedents of inactivity, especially now in a keeper league, you guys need to realize that pookar is extremely unlikely not to be active and is very accessible. I thought there was a concensus that two people would be replaced after last year, what happened to it.
 
I'm also assuming the draft will have to be about a week off, considering the half of a decade debate we have going on about who will play fantasy this year.

At this point, id just like to remind everyone that I have been playing for 3 years now, and I believe I gave reaqson for my inactivity last yeare, if not - I was in the middle of two moves, and didn't have internet access for about a month and a half, school was out for a full month of that and I couldn't use work computers because of a filter blocking sports websites. Regardless of that, this would be year 4 for me..I'm having a hard time seeing how there is even a question as to my playing
 
I've been neglecting this thread for a bit but I did throw my two cents in on the draft time. I'd prefer a weeknight (Sunday - Thursday) because, unfortunately, I do try to have a social life on the weekends when I'm not working. I don't mind the later times as we'll be done well before 2am, I suspect.

As for final members, put Psycho in. He's been in the league on a yearly basis and knows something about hockey.

I have no clue on Gouki so I won't comment there.

In regard to pookar joining the league..

I played a 6 man H2H league with him and some of his friends for the 08-09 season. (Yes, I've actually faced pookar in a fantasy hockey league.) Here are the head to head results during the season:

My team's overall record: 136-61-23 (1st place)
pookar's overall record: 102-89-29 (2nd place)

Results vs pookar
week 2: 6-4-0
week 7: 9-0-1
week 12: 8-0-1
week 17: 5-4-1
week 22: 2-7-1

finals: 7-3-0

totals: 37-18-4
overall record: 5-1

You could argue that the lack of depth at 6 teams made it easy for me but I would argue it made it just as easy for everyone. We can all see psycho's results from our past leagues so I'm just providing the little history on pookar I have. It's been a year+ since this little gimmick league so who knows. Decide for youself. Personally, I'm going to have to say no on pookar if we have better options.

The main thing I want is activity long term so whoever ends up playing better be on board... old and new members alike.

Ah I forgot you had said that you wouldn't be active last year (which was my main reason in picking pookar over you). If I could/can, I would switch my vote.
 
Carl's logic is about what I'm thinking too, I like pookar but Carl had been keeping me updated on that league that year so I was familiar with pookar's ability through that, and he asked Carl and I for a lot of advice last year for the teams he used then... which is smart in a public league, but obviously he's not going to have that option with us as opponents...

I think the psycho option is pretty obviously the more competitive option, which I think is what everyone wants.
