The First Wheneverual Safari Festival: Better Late Than Never

Well at least it helps cut down on double-X strategies that are much more effective in a limited metagame, like per say specs tinted lens yanmega/venomoth that don't really have counters to begin with besides toxicroak to an extent
EDIT: Hmm it just occured to me that Lairon isn't on the list when he's able to be caught in the safari zone, I believe, lemme double check...
EDIT: Nope I'm wrong, what am I smoking...
EDIT: NO I'm not smoking anything, http://www.gamefaqs.com/portable/gbadvance/file/471243/24898
there's just nothing on serebii, so who's right?
EDIT: I've hunted in that area and never seen a Lairon so probably serebii...

I never quite encountered any in the hours I spent catching Rhyhorn, amongst other things, in Zone 3. How are you sure that is accurate?

I'm doubting it based on serebii's usual reliability and I was catching rhyhorns there for awhile and never came across Lairon, even though I saw Pinsir and Dodrio which are rare. But that's where I got the idea from, because I used the guide... Sorry, but if anyone sees one, let us know
EDIT: Now that I revealed that I was catching Rhyhorn's, I'll just tell you the awesomeful Rhyawesomeness that I caught - 31/25/30/x/30/24 Adamant

i was wondering if we could have pokemon xd tutors...
like an exploding wailord or snorlax...
Yep, XD tutors are fine, if you want to desperately use them upon the Pokemon you're catching for this. Just... don't hack the moves on. :|
So why should we limit are selves hum? I mean, is the item clause going to help the amount of pokemon we can use in this tournament? Nopes. So I can't say I see a point in it.
Can you see a point in limiting yourself to just Pokemon from the Safari Zone in this tournament? I dare say, it would be an unfair restriction to the amount of Pokemon you can use in this tournament, so there mustn't be a point to be seen in it.

I mean there isn't really a point in an item clause in the Safari Metagame. It just limits the ability to stall well. The Safari Metagame only limitation in my mind should be banning to powerful pokemon, which has already been done. We all know that we will only have a punch of choice item and stat uppers running around if the item clause stands. I would like to see all the pokemon in Safari Zones, and all the possible types of teams up for usage in this game. The item clause hinders that, I really don't see a point in it. I would actually like to know where it is even included in the rules.

6. No two Pokémon may hold the same item. (Item Clause.) Nor can they be "luck items". (Hax Item Clause.)
Regarding your other point, feedback, people. Is Item Clause really that much of an atrocity?

Well I think it makes us actually "think" alittle rather than try to just run standard this, standard that...I'd vote to keep it (but then again I'm not officially IN the tourney yet so...)

So what I just got out of that post Lorak is that there really isn't a legitimate reason for an item clause.

EDIT: I didn't really read the post close enough, I see that you where just asking for feed back now.

Yes it is and atrocity it eliminates stall teams basically.

EDIT EDIT: Give reasons to why you want to keep it if you do, like I gave a long though at correct reason as to why we should toss it.

I wouldn't mind multiple lefties, but with all the strong offensive options and relative lack of defensive ones, I'd vote to keep all offensive boosting items claused. It'll help ease prediction and limit offensive options.

I fully agree with Goodbar that the choice of pokemon here are overly offensive, and that we need lefties to help give defense an extra boost. If Lorak feels so inclined to keep the item clause around, perhaps would could at least allow multiple lefties.

I'm still totally advocating the lift on the clause though.

Id like Multiple Lefties atleast..even if it is only 2 per team..

Edit: best Carvanha so far...

I suppose I could do two Leftovers or two Black Sludge, but no more than three of any combination of those items.

So why only two Lorak. Not to be a pain but no one has given a valid reason for keeping the Item Clause around.
One it is, then. I just would like to see creativity in item usage. Leftovers does not lead to many exciting warstories.

So because you happen to like offensive teams, stall teams are out? I'm not trying to poke fun, I really just don't see why we need an Item Clause. The fact that an Item Clause limits the variety of teams in this tournament is much more of a concern to me than whether or not we get some exciting war stories.

Multiple Leftovers is good because it allows stall teams to work, limiting it to no more then 3 of Leftovers or Black Sludge keeps battles from getting mundane, I agree with both sides of the arguement (Item Clause vs no Item Clause) so I really think we should settle in the middle, which is 3 between the 2 items.

Like goodie bar mentioned, without Item Clause Id probally make a team with 5 Choiced Pokemon with some sort of wall, then sweep the fuck out of teams since there really isnt that much in the way of good walls.

Edit:

I would post what I have caught, but you all might go blind in awe. So how about we put a limit on just choice items?
That wouldn't be fair to the people who want to put Choice items on their Pokemon, if they weren't allowed and unlimited Leftovers were, now would it?

We'll I thought the reason we had the item clause was for limiting the amount of choice items on a team? Why did you include it Lorak? Just for exciting War Stories?
