The Force that is Scarf Palkia

Ok so I have gotten in to ubers and now I am addicted. It is infinitly more fun than standards for many reasons. (Plus, I love dealing with huge stats it's fun) But that is not the point of this RMT. The point, is to show how much of a threat scarf Palkia is. This has been accomplishing things, such as beating seth 124, number 10 on the uber ladder, as well as netting me a spot on the uber ladder at 94 after less than an hour of use. So enough babbling. ON TO THE RMT!

Mew @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Synchronize
EVs: 4 HP/252 Atk/252 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Explosion
- Ice Punch
- Hypnosis
- U-turn

Aww isn't he cute? Not when he incapitates your lead he's not! This is strait from the creative movesets thread. I was having trouble deciding on an effective lead and was sick of darkrai sleep leads. The result? Scarfmew. Explosion is so funny as it ohkos blissey, an annoyance to this team. U-turn is the hit and run move and has the bonus of ohkoing deoxys-A. Ice punch deals some major damage to Lati@s as well as a once dded rayquaza, who, by the way I outspeed. Hypnosis for sleeping things I can't beat of course.

Latias (F) @ Soul Dew
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 112 HP/192 Spd/204 SAtk
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Dragon Pulse
- Calm Mind
- Recover
- Grass Knot

This girl is everything I could want. Walls kyogre, a tough feat, sweeps with a cm boost. Is my favorite color. Wait...
The point is this thing is a Jack of all trades master of all of them. It does what it does so well that I don't fear kyogre in the slightest. Also sweeps with it's massive 690 SAtk after 1, count 'em, 1 cm.

Palkia @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 4 HP/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Timid nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Draco Meteor
- Spacial Rend
- Surf
- Thunder

Here he is, the star of the show! This thing is so destructive it's not even funny. First of all, he outspeeds all of the (used) uber metagame excluding the rare scarftwos, scarfrais, ect. and hits with his monstrous 399 SAtk. The reason that this thing is so beastly is that it is only walled by 2 things. Blissey, and sometimes Lugia. Thats it. The other reason is the fear factor. I have been pitted against one before and feared it because it outsped my whole team. It is the one of the best late game cleaners around because of this. Like, scarf chomp on steroids.

Kyogre @ Leftovers
Ability: Drizzle
EVs: 252 HP/4 Spd/252 SAtk
Modest nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Surf
- Ice Beam
- Calm Mind
- Substitute

Palkia's partner in crime, none other than Kyogre! The oft forgotten sub cm set makes an appearence. This allows me to beat non-cm/psych up blissey 100% of the time bar crits. With 1 cm I enjoy the power of specs ogre. That means 657 SAtk. After 2, 876. Nothing short of Arceus' fat mother can stand up to that. Surf for double STAB and Ice beam for rayquaza and the Lati@s

Jirachi @ Leftovers
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 252 HP/4 Def/252 SDef
Careful nature (+SDef, -SAtk)
- Wish
- U-turn
- Ice Punch
- Protect

Another cute 100 strait pixie. This thing is neigh indestructable in the dragon based uber metagame. In the rain a dialga fire blast fails to 3hko. The only thing thats going to scratch things little guy are ground attacks, which, of course, are seen miles away. Passes wish all around my team and counters deoxys-A beautifully and dents it with U-turn switching out. Ice punch mainly for the latis and rayquaza, but also for an attacking move. Protect to scout and heal myself.

Groudon @ Leftovers
Ability: Drought
EVs: 252 HP/156 Atk/32 Def/8 Spd/60 SDef
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Dragon Claw
- Earthquake
- Stealth Rock
- Roar

Rounding out the gang is the Rock Titan! The supporting set sets rocks and stops any meddling sashers from ruining a clean palkia sweep. Dragon claw hits the latis and rayquaza yet again, but groudon will run from the latis anyways so whatever. Roar for a little phazing as I have a bad experience of being swept by an sd speed passing ninjask>Groudon. *shivers* Earthquake for STAB.
---

So thats the squad! Again the stratagy is to promote a palkia sweep or at least use palkia for a few revenge kills and then sweep with either latias or kyogre.

93 views and no replies? I think it's solid but not that good. I had a great match against Ike123 I think it was 1-0 or 2-0 with both his pokes in critical health (<30)

Heh, forgive me for mentioning this, but you don't have any moves with which to hit Shedinja, except Stealth Rock. If it gets in before stealth rock, you lose. Period. You can't hurt it at all. Your only hope would be to try and Roar it out with Groudon, and THEN set up Stealth Rock, and hope that your opponent doesn't have Rapid Spin, because you don't have any ghosts.

dosen't bug hit it? If not, I might put in shadow ball on mew or somthing. Thanks for pointing that out. And I usually take burn with a special poke.

finally someone actually noticed my mew i put on that thread two months ago. i might suggest using jolly over adamant as with jolly you will ALWAYS outspeed kyogre and a DD quaza, somthing that you can fail to do without the +speed.

also, since you already have mew to outspeed and kill rayquaza and groudon to absorb the hit i dont think jirachi NEEDS ice punch. U-turn should do satasfactory in that spot, as it helps scout jirachi counters, pass wishes, and also hits psychic for super effective damage.

i would also suggest adding in a sleep talker somewhere on your team (kyogre i suggest) because darkrai is very widespread in the uber metagame. ReSTalk/surf and thunder or calm mind are both very effective sets that would work well on your team.

Shadow ball on mew won't work, shedinja will just xscissor or shadow sneak you by the time you switch it in (that or it'll swords dance while you switch in and you'll be sneaked).

Letting something get permanently burned isn't a good idea. If stealth rocks are up on your side, you lose 25% hp just to switch it in, and you can't afford losing 12ish% every turn with latias, kyogre can't recover except by wish which means you need to switch it out and back in again, and palkia is on the same line as latias.

Shedinja is only hit by Fire, Ghost, Dark, Rock, and Flying. And you'll have to hit it twice, because it will always run Focus Sash. Put some Fire attacks and Shadow Ball on things, it's good attacking move in Ubers anyways. Fire hammers Dialga and Ghost hits all those psychics.

You don't even have Toxic, Leech Seed, Hail, Sandstorm or Will O Wisp on here to hit it either. If it gets into play without Groundon VERY healthy, you lose, because Groudon will have to take two swords danced hits from it.

Swords Danced X-Scissor does 40-47% to your Groudon, so you'll have to be at 80% or more to be able to hurt Shedinja, by setting up SR, then Roaring.

Hm yeah I see what you guys mean. I'm putting Fire Blast over draco meteor on palkia to hit sheddy and converting kyogre to a restalker to absorb sleep and giratina burns. Also, jirachi already has U-turn, so I think I'll make mew jolly and then put shadow ball on jirachi for more shedy coverage. Thanks for the suggestions keep them coming!
