Thank you very much folks! I don't know if I have the time to respond to each comment individually, but I have ready every one and I'm positively tickled!
Some people have commented on the time consumed on this project. The whole thing included first translating each battle video of each battle into paper in a blank book (this occured right after each battle, and was the only step that occured across the whole of the 2-3 months of this story), then turning it into typed text in PMs to myself. I then wrote commentary in another notebook for each space in between turns, and then spent some time over this past weekend formatting those PMs and rewriting/editing the commentary as I put it in.
It took about ~20 hours total. I don't cite this number to brag nor to proffer evidence that I am veritably insane, but rather as a reference point for the future.
A couple folks have pointed out the succintness of some of the comments, and I think they're absolutely right. Part of the reason for that is that it's difficult to juggle all the content of 5 battles and I didn't want to recycle the humor I had used in previous paragraphs/stories, and I figured it was better to not say much than to say what I had already said. I understand how this can sort of negotiate the quality of a warstory, and if I did it over again I'd have taken more time sorting things out, but I wanted to get this done early so that people would have "a feel" for how people might think in VGC 2012.
@verbatim: I actually did not do this for that reason. I had a frame of what this warstory was going to look like before any of the battles occured (Five teams and five foes), so I had planned this ahead of time. However, that's a good point (Though I certainly have nothing against Amon Amarth).
Thanks again everyone. Don't worry; I won't follow the trend and do 7 warstories next time :D. If I do another story, it would probably be just one good battle. I hope this has been constructive and I'd love to see y'all at the coming VGCs!
