Good question. If the form is revealed yes you may use the other. If your charizard dies in any round without being revealed you can't use it at all (or the forms) for future rounds. This applies to ALL megas.
I.e. You bring megameta but it dies without transforming you lose the ability to use gross at all after.

I'm on mobile but I'll edit this into the OP as well as round 1 later.
