Whats Up Smogon?

Let me start off by saying thank you for taking the time to take a look at my team.

So, the team started off with a basic idea Rain, without Politoed. Standard Rain was becoming too common, and so i decided i wanted a completely different approach, Offensive Rain. So where do I start? I wanted to include Gyarados in my team, an absolute beast that can be quite versatile. Gyarados functions well without the rain but can benefit from it too, so i decided lets add Kingdra. It could set up Rain and without Drizzle, Swift Swim would become legal. Kingdra and Gyarados, who next? Hmm... This is going to be an offensive team, lets add Dragonite, he can SDD, and open up his opportunity to sweep, or can run Hurricane Specs, Ill decide later, but for now he complements Gyarados Quite Nicely. Dragonite can abuse his ability Multiscale, by using roost and lose his flying type, but that idea is ruined quickly by Stealth Rock. It looked to be a problem so i needed a rapid spinner who could also set up a rain dance if need be, Starmie just fits. I decided to take a quick look at what i had so far... A Dragon weakness seemed to be an issue so i needed a offensive steel type. Scizor immediately came into my mind (yours as well i bet!). He could revenge kill nicely with CB bullet punches and also manage to take a hit in the rain with fire power being reduced as well as solving a Terrakion problem. Who else could benefit from the rain? Well Celebii would assure longevity with recover. "With its good stats, typing, ability, and access to Recover, Celebi is able to check a lot of threats, namely Keldeo, Thundurus-T, Sheer Force Landorus, Starmie, Rotom-W, Politoed, Calm Mind Jirachi, and Calm Mind Latias. Giga Drain is the standard STAB move that gives Celebi a bit of recovery, and allows it to hit the Water-types it walls for super effective damage."

The basic idea, Bulky Gyarados.

230.png

I wanted to add in the rain factor without politoed, and no on else abuses it like kingdra.

Dragonite Can Abuse Rain with hurricane or Multiscale with Roost, a good complement to Gyarados.

Keeping the Offensive theme in mind, i added in Scizor who can take a dragon hit, or revenge kill with Bullet Punch and take a couple psychic types on with u-turn.

Stealth Rock and Multiscale dont work out so, I added starmie to set up ANOTHER rain dance if need be, Rapid spin away, or just use thunder or hydro pump.

Celebii checks alot of threats, (refer to Intro) and can use recover which ensures a bit of longevity.

Gyaras (Gyarados) @
o6z147.png

Evs: 252 Spd, 146 Hp, 112 Atk |Jolly:Intimidate|

-Taunt
-Dragon Dance
-Waterfall
-Bounce

-Gyaras more often than not, is my choice for a lead. He is max speed so he can work around some leads like Breloom, and so he can use his taut effectively preventing stealth rocks.

-Dragon Dance opens up his opportunity to sweep and has great synergy with taunt. A taunted Utility Pokemon usually forces a switch and if not, gyarados can sponge one hit and recover it off with leftovers.
2 Dragon Dances Outspeeds: Terrakion, Jirachi, Latios, and many common OU.

-Waterfall is great for STAB coverage and insanely powerfull in and out the rain with a Dragon Dance up. Occasionally causes a very useful flinch if not the OHKO.

-Bounce over stone edge. It was difficult but stone edge was too unreliable in my experiences. When needed the most, it misses. Bounce on the other hand is quite the opposite. Great STAB coverage and able to take out pesky grass types including chlorophyll venasaur. Also gives me an extra turn to recover with leftovers.

-Leftovers over Life Orb. Life orb recoil damage was too great and just does not work out with this set. Sure gyarados can sponge a hit but the life orb just diminished his health and lowered his time on the field which is not helpful. He is already powerful enough to need it, although in some situations it was helpful.

230.png

SeaKingsOP (Kingdra) @
9vf9n8.jpg

Evs: 252 Spd, 40 Hp, 216 SpAtk |Modest:Swift Swim|

-Rain Dance
-Hydro Pump
-Ice Beam
-Dragon Pulse

-For Lead, Kingdra is second in line. While they are busy setting up rocks or spikes or whatever it may be, Kingdra uses Rain Dance and Reaches a whopping 500+ Speed. (Way more than Needed.)

-Kingdras Evs are that of a sub DD set but while experimenting i found that its useful for taking a hit, while i set up rain dance and ABUSE swift swim.

-Hydro Pump For AMAZING STAB and neutral damage on most things if ice beam and dragon pulse are resisted.

-Ice beam to deal with flying types and with Garchomp running around him too.

-Dragon Pulse For STAB and to deal with the EXTRA THREATINING dragon types latios and latias.

Damage Calc: 86-92% on Latios 80-84% on Latias.

-I chose Life orb to fit Kingdras role. Being that he only sets up the rain for himself, he wont be switching out if he does. So he won't look to switch or i wont try to keep him alive unless for DF. Life orb along with Boosted Hydro Pump, Great Speed, and STAB is definitely OHKO'ing Something. Kill as many as i can, go down a Boss.

149.png

Dragoonite (Dragonite) @
o6z147.png

Evs: 252 HP 72 Def 60 SpD 124 Spd |Jolly:Multiscale|

-Substitute
-Dragon Dance
-Dragon Claw
-Roost

-This set was chosen to also be a bit bulky and set up Substitutes, something Dragonite does very well. Evs as well as great natural bulk allow him to take hits and roost it off as well as using leftovers to Abuse Multiscale.

-Substitute and Roost. An Amazing combo specifically on him because of Multiscale which even a ice beam at -50% cant take down. I chose roost to get rid of the flying type and for recovery.

-Dragon Dance is self explanatory. Set up. Wreck Shop.

-Dragon Claw over Hurricane. Hurricane is only assured if rain is up and i cant guarantee that at all since im not using Toed. Also Roosting would take away STAB and since im not running Life orb there's really no point in it.

212.png

ChopChop (Scizor) @
kdod1h.png

EVS: 252 Atk, 80 Hp, 176 SpDef |Adamant:Technician|

-Bullet Punch
-U-Turn
-Superpower
-Pursuit

-Set was chosen to revenge kill and sponge a dragon attack if needed. Scizor can live a fire attack in the rain which is another reason he is here.

-Bullet Punch for STAB and Priority.

-U-turn to keep momentum also STAB and a well timed one can take out an Espeon who is trying to CM and hit Dark Types.

- Superpower for absolute destruction on Tyranitar and to hit steel types like Ferrothorn.

-A well timed pursuit can deal some extra damage on those trying to switch out on a predicted Bullet Punch.

-Scizor uses Choice Band Like a champ. He doesn't need speed because he uses a technician STAB boosted Bullet Punch which has priority. Standard Setup.

121.png

Shooting (Starmie) @
9vf9n8.jpg

Evs: 252 Spd, 252 Hp, 4 SpAtk |Timid:Natural Cure|

-Rapid Spin
-Recover
-Thunderbolt
-Hydro Pump

-Stealth Rocks and Multiscale don't work well together so i needed a rapid spinner as well as someone who could dish out damage while at it.

-His Ev's let him outspeed mostly anything unscarfed to ensure at most he gets a rapid spin off, and if he lives then that's even better.

-Recover to ensure longetivity and recover from the rocks hes supposed to take out and Life Orb.

-Hydro Pump for Stab and Life Orb boost.

-thunderbolt lets me hit other water types. Grass knot isnt too reliable and i have celebi already.

-Natural Cure lets starmie take thunder waves, Toxics, and will-0-wisps, the whole shabang, and come back in like nothing happened.

251.png

Celebrity (Celebi) @
9vf9n8.jpg

Evs: 252 SpAtk, 200 Spd, 56 Hp |Modest:Natural Cure|

-Leaf Storm
-Hidden Power Fire
-Earth Power
-Recover

-Celebi was chosen to also take T-waves and such. He fits in the team well for his natural bulk but also able to recover and Dish out Damage.

-Leaf Storm for STAB. Powerful move chosen over giga drain because im running recover. Leaf storm and life orb is just a better option in my opinion and experience with this team.

-Hidden Power Fire for coverage against Steel Types and opposing grass types.

-Earth Power over u-turn because for Coverage once more. Also with Celebi also wanting to take thunder waves a slower u-turn would serve no purpose for his role.

-Recover over giga drain because it recovers more damage and im running a more powerful STAB move, Leaf storm.

I hope you all enjoyed my bulky-offensive team. Please rate and if you test it out an see some success please like it. side note, if you are going to rate my only request is that you keep the offensive theme in mind.

Hai Nyron777!

Is a good team but i propose any changes:

You need stealth rocks, is essential in this metagame**

Celebi @ Leftovers
Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP / 224 SDef / 32 Spd
Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Stealth Rock
- Recover
- Psychic
- Baton Pass

Mixed Rain Dance Kingdra > Rain Dance Kingdra

Change thunderbolt in starmie for ice beam

I think your scizor need moar hp. This set:

Scizor (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Technician
EVs: 244 HP / 248 Atk / 4 SDef / 12 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- U-turn
- Bullet Punch
- Superpower
- Pursuit

Good luck!

Threat List

2ecp829.png

-
639.png
Very Fast and able to Outspeed everything except Kingdra in rain and DD Dragonite and Gyarados.

-
373.png
Only and issue if it runs intimidate or Choice Scarf as it cripples my gyarados a bit and can OHKO Scizor if its a mix mence.

-
609.png
A spin Blocker and hits Celebi and Scizor hard. Not and issue against Kingdra or Gyarados.

-
454.png
only an issue when it runs dry skin, which almost always, and gets a bulk up well... up.

-
598.png
Only thing that hits him well is HP fire celebii and Scizors superpower. Otherwise i can take a thunderwave.

-
286.png
not huge if he is dealth with fast

-
248.png
the weather can be an issue and it furthers diminishes my health along with Life Orb

-
038.png
sunny day teams in general can be the biggest issue

-
445.png
Choice Scarf Chomp can either take out my dragons or a well timed fire fang can wreck my celebii and scizor

-
534.png
if this thing sets up im gonna have issues

-
214.png
scarf sets can outspeed most things and moxie is an issue.

-
291.png
while this thing sets up the best i can do is set up with gyarados and use bounce or dragon dance with Dragonite.

-
196.png
If this thing gets his calm mind and stored power it can be an issue

-
121.png
other starmies running a more offensive set can pose a threat

-
380.png
Latias is such a pain nothing more to say

-
645.png
he and his therian forme with the offensive pivot set and gravity is annoying.

-
094.png
scarf sets in particular can pose a bit of a threat

-
235.png
a convential baton passer. -sigh-

-
304.png
WHY does this thing have sturdy and endeavor!?

-
381.png
read the descrption for his twin

-
149.png

Thanks SO much for the rate and i like the celebi idea with rocks. i was actually debating it but yea. Also i ran that scizor set and i see more success with the the evs i have set now. Anyway thx again for the rate. Very Helpful. Also i tried Mix Set kingdra but not extensively so ill try that again

Hi, one major problem you have is the fact that you have nothing that reists Rock, meaning choice scarf Terrakion hits everything for Neutral. You also claim Baton Pass teams give you trouble so I will recommend Donphan over Dragonite as he checks almost all of the threats you claim to have. You can also take off Stone Edge to put in rapid spin and let Starmie go pure special sweeper.

Donphan@Leftovers/Life Orb
Nature: Adamant
Ability: Sturdy
EV: 252 Attack/252 HP/4 Speed
1. Roar
2. Ice Shard
3. Earthquake
4. Stone Edge

Thx

Interesting i think im gonna try that one now. Thx again for the rate man i really appreciate it :)

Nice team dude but you do have quite a few weaknesses. I suggest you run mamoswine over starmie or dragonite. It's ground typing allows it to be a good switch in on electric types targeted at Gyara and can easily hit back with EQ. And with priority ice shard, it will be able to do hefty chunks to dragon types and even OHKOing them.

Mamoswine@Life Orb
Trait:Thick Fat
4 HP/252 Atk/252 Spe
-Ice Shard
-Icicle Crash
-Earthquake
-Stone Edge

And you might want to consider running Hydreigon, my personal favorite and has been on almost all my teams. It has great coverage and serves as a great check to Lati@s if its locked onto a psychic attack, dragons in general and can hit everything for at LEAST (pardon my caps) neutral damage and SE for everything else

Hydreigon@Choice Scarf
Trait:Levitate
128 Atk/128 SpA/252 Spe
-Draco Meteor
-Fire Blast
-Earthquake
-Superpower
