Now I need you to take me to the leaderboard.
Parker (Gliscor) (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Sand Veil
EVs: 252 HP/40 Def/216 Spd
Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Earthquake
- Stealth Rock
- Taunt
- Roost
A very versatile lead. It has high speed, Taunt, and Stealth Rock which gives it domination over other Stealth Rock leads. I've given it Jolly nature to assure that it will max speed Roserade. Notable leads I have trouble with are Azelf, Swampert, and to a lesser extent Aerodactyl, the former obviously being much more prominent.
This thing is bulky and can take a hit, thus it serves as my sole counter to Lucario. It's typing gives it the upper-hand against all Zapdos and T-Wave Blissey assuming the latter does not carry Ice Beam.
Thanks to Sand Veil I almost always net the kill against purely physical Tyranitar.
Stark (Scizor) (M) @ Choice Band
Ability: Technician
EVs: 198 HP/252 Atk/60 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Bullet Punch
- Superpower
- Pursuit
- U-turn
A complete badass. I remember everyone thought Scyther already looked pretty kick ass when RBY came out, but when Scizor arrived in GSC, it was pretty much up in the air as to which one looked more cool.
Anyways, despite all of the counters in every single team, Scizor never leaves a battle empty handed. Bulk, power, priority, and scouting. It's no mistake that Scizor is the most used Pokemon in the game. I'm careful not to flash him around too much because he plays such an integral role to my team from start to finish.
Summers (Zapdos) @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 248 HP/36 Spd/224 SDef
Calm nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Thunderbolt
- Heat Wave
- Thunder Wave
- Roost
Specially defensive Zapdos takes hits like a champ. It can take on opposing Dos, Gengars, Heatran, the ever annoying Rotoms, and cause general rage with T-Wave all the while still completely countering Scizor.
I usually switch to Dos at the sight of an Azelf lead and Dos almost always wins the dual. If not, Bullet Punch / Pursuit finishes Azelf off.
Frost (Latias) (F) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Modest nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Surf
- Thunderbolt
- Dragon Pulse
- Trick
Usually gives the deathblow to other Dragons and Gyarados, even when DD'd or in the rain. I'm considering dropping Trick for Grass Knot since Swampert gives the team so much trouble. Latias originally started as a Gengar, but Latias Bulk just seals the deal between the 2.
Banner (Tyranitar) (M) @ Babiri Berry
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 6 HP/252 Atk/252 Spd
Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Crunch
- Fire Punch
- Rock Slide
- Dragon Dance
DD Tar serves as my late game sweeper. I wanted something with bulk to fit the rest of the team and DD Tar has that along with phenomenal coverage. Babiri Berry is simply because Scizors are so rampant.
I'm having trouble running into opposing Tyranitar and Swamperts. I'm looking for alternate movesets for DD Tar so please throw some out there if you got one.
Rogers (Suicune) @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 HP/252 Def/4 Spd
Bold nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Surf
- Roar
- Sleep Talk
- Rest
Rest Talk Suicune handles all sorts of threats that would otherwise rip my team apart and serves as my status absorber. He is really the only one who can safely keep Swampert at bay assuming I'm not completely unlucky with my Resttalk. He also brings phazing to the table which allows me to combat Calm Mind Suicune among others.
Noticeable Problem Areas:
Swampert: The only thing I have that can edge Swampert out is Suicune, otherwise I am completely swept by this abomination.
Sub Calm Mind Jirachi: Not quite sure how I would deal with this thing.
Pretty much all BoltBeamers: Only 2 members of the team are resistant / neutral to the Ice Beam / Thunder Bolt combo.
