With two different ways to pivot out, you'd think Zeraora has an easy out of this matchup, but a clever use of an ultimate trapping combo allows Lou to get rid of both in one fell swoop! Unfortunately for Zeraora, its damage is quite low so it cannot finish the beast in one round... and now guess who's got first order and can switch at their leisure to finish off a 28 HP Zeraora?

I kind of forgot to apply the EN cost increase to this match. Not that it didn't end up mattering since it all went by too quickly to go below 30% EN.
Zeraora bravely tries everything it can, but allowing Garchomp to set up a Substitute proved a fatal mistake, as it could easily absorb Fake Out and retaliate with a terrifyingly powerful Earthquake. Note that even without that, I believe Rough Skin damage, coupled to Sand and Sticky Barb, would have done Zeraora in anyway.
Lou gets a shiny new Zapdos! (note: shininess may not be guaranteed)
