Facility The Legend Gauntlet (Zapdos): TMan87 vs epicdrill

RULES:
Match
A match is a composition of multiple games. A match is over when one trainer wins two games.
Both players send in a team of 3 Pokemon.

Game 1:
- The ref flips a coin (or rolls a 1d2, you get the idea) to select who is "T1" and who is "T2"
- T1 strikes one of the five arenas
- T2 strikes two of the remaining four arenas
- T1 strikes one more arena
- The round is played on the remaining arena
- T1 is first sendout

Games 2+:
- The winner of the previous round gets to strike one arena
- The loser of the previous round picks one of the remaining arenas
- The round is played on the selected arena
- The loser of the previous round is first sendout

Game
B3P2 Singles
72h DQ, 1 Warning
Abilities: All
Items: ON
Switch: OK
Megas: 1
Z-Moves: 1
Substitutions: 3
Recoveries: 2 per Pokemon
Chills: 5 per Pokemon
Arena: Variable
Special Rule #1: The game ends when the first KO is scored. The trainer of the KO'd pokemon loses that game.
Special Rule #2: When you send in your team, if a Pokemon has access to more than one form-changing item or attachment: submit one (1) form-changing item or attachment to your ref. The item you submitted to the ref is a secret. During battle, you may not attempt to equip form-changing items or attachments, other than what you submitted to the ref.
Tiebreaker rules:
  • KOing an opponent through a self-KO move or Destiny Bond grants them the win
  • KOing an opponent through a move that results in your Pokémon ENKOing grants you the win
  • KOing an opponent then taking recoil that KOes you too grants you the win
TMan87's Pokemon

Selphine lost a good chunk of her occasional bloodthirsty tendencies with the swap to Galar, which is... appreciated. She made fast friends quickly with the new group, and returned to her sweet-craving self almost instantly. She can't help but nibble on some members, which has them, uh, inconvenienced, but has also been more rigorous on her training, instead of skipping out.
It's weird, but I feel there's something lacking there...

Mawile [Selphine Rugzenhaide] (Female)

That's it, that's what was lacking. With access to her Mega Stone once more, Selphine simply transforms from a cute walking danger to a blood knight with tremendous power. It is said the spirits of several Mega Mawiles of past times reside in her Mega Stone, overriding her original personality a little and giving her a cold a blunt demeanor. She's also very easily angered in this state, and with punish the tiniest slight with terrifying force. You want to tread very carefully while she's awakened. Fortunately, it doesn't last for long.
She doesn't seem to remember much of what happened once she reverts back to normal.

Iris Heart is back with a vengeance! The transition to Galar somehow raised her power levels, and she now got a mean kick to spare for every occasion. More than one, actually.
She's still kind of difficult to deal with, as she has personality swings like no other. She could be all sugar one moment and just... take off the next, thirsty for blood. She still haven't met an opponent who would match her blow for blow, and especially someone who wouldn't get crushed underneath her feet. She's eagerly awaiting that day, too.

Elma finds herself right at home in Galar's rainy climate, moreso since she claimed to dislike Alola's dry areas. Here, she gets a ton of puddles to slide around, but she has to be careful since she's now much more massive than when she was a Goomy. Nevertheless, Elma really looks happier here, and that's all that matters. Except when she crashes into the tent. And it's raining outside. That matters as well.
A lot of her previous playmates are absent, so the endurance contests are off for now, but she found a new friend in Yew, who gladly spars a bit with her.

"Welcome one and all to today's Legend Gauntlet where TMan87 will be facing off against epicdrill for the ultimate grand prize of a shiny new Zapdos! (The loser still gets counters so everybody wins!) The participants will be battling each other in bring-3-pick-2 sudden death battles until someone wins two battles total! Who will win? Nobody knows! Let's begin, shall we?"
Mt. Thunder
Zapdos’s nesting place is constantly struck by lightning descending from dark and looming thunder clouds. The unstable weather requires careful preparation and anti-electricity measures.
  • The BAP of all Water-type moves is reduced by three (3)
  • Default weather is Thunder Clouds
    • Thunder Clouds makes all moves cost two (2) extra EN
    • Thunder Clouds paralyzes all active Pokémon when it changes directly into Rainy
    • Thunder Clouds sets Electric Terrain for three (3) actions if a damaging move whose name contains “Thunder” is successfully performed. This effect cannot be refreshed
Codifications
Camouflage: Rock
Nature Power: Earth Power
Secret Power: Decreases the target's Speed by one (1) stage.
====================
Windswept Valley
This plateau is assaulted by bolts of lightning and ferocious winds. Zapdos is known to come rest here if it needs to recharge, as these bolts greatly power the bird.
  • All Pokémon are under the effect of Motor Drive
  • The damage formula treats Speed boosts and drops as being Attack/Special Attack boosts and drops
  • Speed boosts decay half as fast, Speed drops decay twice as fast
Codifications
Camouflage: Normal
Nature Power: Thunderbolt
Secret Power: Paralyzes the target
=====================
Eye of the Thunderstorm
In the exact middle of the Windswept Valley, a small area is unnaturally calm. It would almost feel relaxing to stand there if not for the massive tension in the atmosphere, wanting nothing more than being released.
  • Thunder can hit Pokémon in the evasive stage of Dig. If it does, it ignores the target’s Ground typing
  • Moves with “Wind” in their name have their BAP increased by three (3)
  • Moves with “Wind” in their name set Tailwind for three (3) actions when successfully performed. This effect cannot be refreshed
Codifications
Camouflage: Psychic
Nature Power: Psyshock
Secret Power: Decreases the target's Defense by one (1) stage.
=====================
Sea of Clouds
Above the dark thunder clouds is a calm sea of pure, fluffy, white clouds. Careful, though, ascending winds are pretty strong here, and you don’t want to get caught in one!
  • No Pokémon can Dig
  • Fly and Bounce have to be suspended at least two actions before the Pokémon can use the Attack version
  • Hurricane gets 100% Accuracy
  • All sun-based moves treat this arena as being in harsh sunlight
Codifications
Camouflage: Flying
Nature Power: Tri Attack
Secret Power: Paralyzes the target
======================
Static Airfield
A giant black thundercloud blots out the whole sky. Although it doesn't look like it will thunder any time soon, the immense static charge it exerts can be harnessed by Pokemon to create an electrical current of their own.
  • After using a damaging [Electric-Type or Normal-Type] attack, the Pokemon gains one Electron. Damaging Normal-Type attacks by Pokemon with Electrons become Electric-Type attacks
  • If the user has any Electrons while using an Electric-Type Contact attack, then increase the move's BAP by 3 per Electron, ignore immunities to Electric moves granted by Abilities and Types, remove all Electrons from the user, and give the target one (1) Electron
  • Roost removes all Electrons from the user
  • Electrons do not persist through switching
Codifications
Camouflage: Electric
Nature Power: Thunderbolt
Secret Power: Paralyzes the target

Turn order (1: TMan87 is T1, 2: epicdrill is T1): 2 (epicdrill is T1)
epicdrill strikes ONE arena
TMan87 strikes TWO arenas
epicdrill chooses the remaining arena and sends in first
TMan87 sends in and orders first
epicdrill orders second

[CASOS] IF
D/E AND Swampert is faster AND the weather is not Sunny THEN Solar Blade

I see an opening by taking advantage of a really silly sub interaction!

"Well, well, well! It seems like epicdrill has found a way to use Sleep Talk while sleeping with a clever usage of her subs (I hope I reffed it right). That's not to say that Swampert didn't take a ton of damage from Tsareena's powerful Grass-type attacks, though. Who will epicdrill bring out next to face the weakened Tsareena? I think I have an idea, but we'll find out next round!"
"Never mind! Apparently, Tsareena's sub doesn't activate if Swampert is asleep, meaning that Tsareena uses Power Whip on the sleeping Swampert... but then she lands a lucky crit, knocking Swampert out! The carefully calculated plan that epicdrill constructed falls apart due to a stroke of bad luck! This means that TMan87 has just won the first battle of this Legend Gauntlet! Can epicdrill catch up in time?"
