So this is a team I'm all in all pretty happy with, I will post some replays later on, but its been doing pretty well and everybody is doing their part quite efficiently.
Ron (Gyarados) (M) @ Gyaradosite
Ability: Intimidate
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Earthquake
- Waterfall
- Ice Fang
There was a time, a time before cable, when the local anchorman reigned supreme. This is my final setup sweeper, and the rest of the team is essentially built around removing the Pokemon he struggles with, which are few enough. I always struggle with what 3 moves to assign to him. If anybody has some advice on the matter I would love to hear it. Waterfall is pretty mandatory and most people recommend EQ, but I am conflicted about the last spot, mostly between crunch, stone edge, and ice fang.
Veronica (Gothitelle) (F) @ Choice Specs
Ability: Shadow Tag
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 84 HP / 252 SpA / 172 Spe
Modest Nature
- Energy Ball
- Psyshock
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Thunderbolt
Behind every man is an even greater woman. Veronica here does an admirable job of coming in and removing 80% of the things that check or counter my Gyarados to pave the way for its sweep later in the game, namely ferrothorn, mega venusaur, skarmory, keldeo, and slowbro. It gets on average a solid 2 kills per match, and thats a ratio that I am in support of, because usually people aren't going to be running all 5 of the pokemon I just listed. Trick is nice in theory but to be honest it very rarely comes into use and I find myself wanting to replace it with energy ball, which would mean I could replace celebi.
Champ (Scizor) (M) @ Choice Band
Ability: Technician
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 152 HP / 252 Atk / 104 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Bullet Punch
- Superpower
- U-turn
- Knock Off
Whammy! Occasionally used as a lead and an offensive pivot, BP Technician Banded Scizor has always been a personal favorite of mine. It's a pretty standard moveset, but what isn't very standard is the EVs I'm running. While the drop in bulk is noticeable, what the speed EVs in this set are good for is outspeeding a 4 Speed EV Heatran and proceeding to OHKO with superpower. While maybe this doesn't sound like a huge deal, my team's only other method of dealing with heatran is to bring in Gyarados, who generally doesn't like to come in and risk getting burned by lava plume or take the chip damage, along with (considering the fact that Heatran is often a rocker or setup mon of some sort) forcing his sweep to begin prematurely without proper preparation. So if I can get Scizor in after I lose someone or on a predicted SR/Toxic, people who fall prey to the assumption that they are going to outspeed my scizor as heatrans usually do will be sorely mistaken. Superpower also catches unwary magnezone's all the time and it's hilarious.
Brian (Zapdos) @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpA
Bold Nature
- Roost
- Toxic
- Thunderbolt
- Defog
60% of the time, it works every time. Defog support is important for un-mega'd gyarados to come in without losing a quarter of its valuable sweeping health. Volt switch gives me some pivoting and stuff, along with hitting both slowbro and keldeo very hard, while pretty much also checking keldeo who isn't hurting me with icy-wind. Toxic and roost for stalling out the opponent, and I'm running some defensive EVs to form a pretty decent defensive core with Heatran.
Brick (Heatran) @ Leftovers
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpD / 4 Spe
Calm Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Protect
- Lava Plume
- Toxic
People seem to like me because I am polite and rarely late. Heatran is just solid always, checks Tflame and psudo-checks bisharp, and is always just really reliable. Stealth Rocks help Gyarados nab some ohkos, and again, this guy is great at removing some of the pokemon Ron Burgundy struggles with.
Ed (Celebi) @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 Spe
Modest Nature
- Dazzling Gleam
- Leech Seed
- Giga Drain
- Hidden Power Fire
A lot of you have been hearing the affiliates complaining about a lack of diversity on the news team. This set is a bit obscure and I'm not super into using lower tier mons but celebi fits in quite nicely. Essentially, I was looking for a pokemon to cover three teams that the rest of my team struggled with extraordinarily. Those three mons were Excadrill, Rotom-W, and Mega-Sableye, of which the latter two also were needed to clear out to allow Gyarados his prime time. Celebi does a pretty damn good job of it. Dazzling gleam is a guarenteed 2HKO on the standard Mega-Sableye set before it gets any CM boosts up, which if I play my cards right, it rarely goes for anyways because Celebi's weakness to dark/ghost lures people to think a shadow ball/dark pulse is a safe bet. Leech Seed + Giga Drain quite effectively takes care rotom-w and excadrill, and celebi pretty much tanks anything they have to throw. Also, natural cure allows it to scoff at the stray will-o-wisps pointed in its direction. This pokemon is pretty situational and thus if anyone has a better idea I would be down to hear it, but thus far, specially offensive celebi is the best pokemon I've found in this role.

Things I am looking for advice on:
-Toxic seems a bit redundant on the team, so if anybody has ideas on better moves I'm down.
-Anything better than Celebi?
-Maybe Earth Power on Heatran for opposing heatran and then Scizor back to full HP investment?
-Moveset advice on Gyarados and Gothitelle?
