Now I don’t expect anyone to even notice this post, but if you’re reading this now, you evidently know Makoto Shinkai and I warmly welcome you to the fan club! Hooray!
Now you can literally discuss anything here but if you are stuck on what to discuss here’s a question for you: people say that Shinkai’s latest movie Weathering with You is not as good as his award-winning movie and the film that got him really noticed, Your Name. Why do you think this is so?
Personally I think it’s because he released it as the follow-up to Your Name, and because of the similarity of the plot, Your Name cast all the little cracks in Weathering with You into shadow and revealed the flaws. Personally, I think that if Shinkai has released not released it as the follow-up to Your Name then he would not have had this issue. What do you think?
