Cool set that catches people off guard, same premise as the SD set except you have weaker sucker punches or you can use it as an offensive defogger. Not quite as good as having Knock Off and full power Sucker Punch but its still pretty fun :).

I tried out sun in RU a while ago and this set was really good and has the potential to sweep through teams once its known counters and revenge killers are down. Sunny Day can be used to set up sun (just saying, if it gets another Pokémon to set up sun for it w/ Heat Rock it'll be a wiser idea because Shiftry cba to get hit by anything while setting up sun because of it's shitty defenses), Knock Off and Solarbeam are STAB, Sucker is cool priority and Growth can be used to boost its Attack but like I said it rarely finds the opportunity to safely set up. Speed EVs are to outspeed Scarf Delphox btw.

Shiftry's only safe switch-ins are RU's Steel-type Pokemon (and Virizion), Low Kick gives Shiftry the opportunity to seriously maim its checks, Cobalion, Eviolite Magneton, and Registeel. This may be at the cost of Defog or Sucker Punch but you could choose between either depending on your teams needs.
252+ Atk Life Orb Shiftry Low Kick (120 BP) vs. 252 HP / 4 Def Registeel: 221-260 (60.7 - 71.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery
252+ Atk Life Orb Shiftry Low Kick (120 BP) vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Cobalion: 250-296 (77.3 - 91.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock
252+ Atk Life Orb Shiftry Low Kick (80 BP) vs. 112 HP / 0 Def Eviolite Magneton: 146-174 (54.2 - 64.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock
Shiftry's counter Virizion is also 2HKOed by Low Kick. 252+ Atk Life Orb Shiftry Low Kick (120 BP) vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Virizion: 204-240 (63.1 - 74.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock. No one will suspect Shiftry to carry Low Kick and will almost always mindlessly switch any of the Pokemon I just mentioned in to "check" Shiftry. Low Kick is a pretty cool option and is worth trying.

Double Dance Shiftry. Premise is really simple, Swords Dance against slow teams, Tailwind against faster ones and proceed to spam Knock Off, with a secondary STAB or coverage move to back you up. Nice n simple

The original SD Set. Brings back BW Memories. This set is meant for really countering some of the biggest threats in the current RU metagame such as Cobalion with Brick Break. This set can also be used for mainly sweeping in the sun if possible. The EV's give it a little bulk, and a lot of attack. You can wear down your counters with any of these attacks really.

Here's how it works. Shiftry sets up Sun for itself, and then can tear up teams with its powerful SolarBeam; conventional counters like Virizon, Escavalier and Cobalion are hit by a Sun-boosted Hidden Power Fire, which 2HKOs all of them and can OHKO the latter two. Really, very little wants to take a SolarBeam from this; it does over 40% to even Audino, Lickilicky, and SDef Aromatisse! That said, it appreciates hazard support from the likes of Omastar; with SR + a spike! those become OHKOs. Dark Pulse OHKOs Moltres after SR, helps it get past Cresselia, and is its other STAB attack. The sun activates Chlorophyll, so the Modest nature is chosen for extra power.

EDIT: I didn't see Yagura's set, but I feel like Dark Pulse and HP Fire make mine different enough.
Just so you know, Low Kick is way better; it hits Registeel, Cobalion, Rhyperior, and Virizion for 120 BP, as opposed to Brick Break's tepid 75 BP.
