Welcome to Smogon! Take a moment to read the Introduction to Smogon for a run-down on everything Smogon, and make sure you take some time to read the global rules.
Vigoroth @ Eviolite
Ability: Vital Spirit
EVs: 252 HP / 244 SpD / 12 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Taunt
- Toxic
- Return/Body Slam
- Slack Off
This was a more standard set on older Vigoroths. The idea is that you beat stall easily with a combination of Taunt + Toxic, while anything offensive that cannot 2HKO you also gets toxic-stalled to death. It also is able to easily beat Gourgeist-Super, Dusknoir, and Misdreavus 1v1.
Vigoroth @ Eviolite
Ability: Vital Spirit
EVs: 252 Hp / 244 SpD / 12 Spe
Careful Nature
- Roar
- Taunt
- Slack Off
- Body Slam / Rock Tomb
Basically just a Hazard-Phazer/Staller. Roar to wittle down pokemon with Sr+Spikes/T-Spikes support. Taunt to prevent Defog from Vibrava/Vullaby/Pelipper and to prevent pokemon from putting a status on Vigoroth. Slack Off is self explanatory. And body slam to spread para+to damage weak enough pokemon Rock Tomb is also an option to lower the opponents speed for a slowish wallbreaker like Specs Chatot or Stoutland.
Lets you beat Knock Off, Crits, secondary effect such as Scald Burn and scout for annoying moves as well. Lets you beat CC Machoke 1v1 sometimes as well
I think this would be a slightly better set, ManOfMany:
Vigoroth @ Eviolite
Ability: Vital Spirit
EVs: 248 HP / 248 SpD / 12 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Taunt
- Toxic
- Slack Off
- Seismic Toss
You don't really need the STAB from Frustration since it'll be fairly weak without BU boosts, or the paralysis from Body Slam, given you're using Toxic already anyway. Running Seismic Toss also allows you to break past stuff like Probopass, then force it out and get a Toxic off as something else switches in.
Scarfed Arbok is a pretty cool surprise mon that outspeeds the entire unboosted meta (except Jolly Ninjask), making it a good revenge killer while maintaining the ability to switch into physical attackers pretty well. It also has access to Switcheroo, allowing it to cripple bulkier mons like Duosion preventing any sort of sweep.
Lum Berry basically allows Arbok to beat Pokemon that rely on status to check it, such as Gourgeist-XL if weakened a bit or Solrock if using Aqua Tail, without giving up important Sucker Punch coverage like using Substitute would. It also means you can safely set up on Clefairy, Roselia, Tangela, etc without fear of Thunder Wave / Sleep Powder / Stun Spore. Oh and it dodges Stunfisk's paralysis so you can 2HKO it without getting crippled (Earth Power doesn't OHKO).
+1 252+ Atk Arbok Gunk Shot vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Gourgeist-Super: 153-180 (40.9 - 48.1%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock, 1 layer of Spikes, and Leftovers recovery
+1 252+ Atk Arbok Aqua Tail vs. 252 HP / 200+ Def Solrock: 204-240 (59.3 - 69.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery
