very hard decision between FLCL and Punch, but i think FLCL is the most reliable and self-sufficient and with the more effective surprise factor.

Another good reason to use Jynx today is because it's Nicki Minaj and she created Starships and my username is Starships AND IT'S LOGICAL ESPECIALLY TODAY.

Also you have two days to post a set. Forgot to add that you guys can't use anything on its RU analysis, which I figured would be obvious at the time. Be unique and creative!

Happy Birthday~

Alright, Jynx is a pretty cool mon. The issue with doing Jynx for NBT is that it has a lot of cool sets and variations, all of which are pretty viable. That said, I think I found a pretty neat idea. :D

Jynx @ Life Orb | Trait: Dry Skin
Timid Nature | EVs: 252 Spe/252 SpA/4 SpDef
- Taunt
- Lovely Kiss
- Psyshock
- Ice Beam

This Jynx set serves as a complete wall-breaker (which is of course, perfect for Next Best Thing since all of Jynx's immediate counters are walls), and it can beat pretty much every wall in the tier given it hits its Lovely Kiss. The idea here is that Jynx can use a combination of Taunt and Lovely Kiss to beat pretty much anything it needs to.

In the case of probably its most notable counter, Munchlax, Jynx can put it to sleep, Taunt it, and then proceed to 2HKO with Psyshock. Calc vs. Munchlax below~
252SpAtk Life Orb Jynx (Neutral) Psyshock vs 252HP/0Def Eviolite Munchlax (Neutral): 44% - 52% (211 - 250 HP). Guaranteed 3HKO. 8% chance to 2HKO.

With Rocks up, the 2HKO is guaranteed.

Now, this does leave Jynx susceptible to Alomomola normally because Psyshock does a pitiful amount of damage to it. However, since the best thing Alomomola can do to Jynx is Toxic it, you have nothing to fear since you can Taunt it before it gets the chance to do anything.

Anyways, I feel like Taunt is actually a really effective move on Jynx. Unfortunately, running Taunt on the Nasty Plot set pretty much means you don't get Substitute, but you still have to run mono-attacking. Due to this, Jynx isn't getting past Munchlax any time soon. But it does leave you with a pretty cool wall-breaker who can work wonders on offensive teams. It plays pretty similarly to offensive Nasty Plot Misdreavus except it can't boost its Special Attack. This is less of a factor for Jynx though because a) it is stronger and b) it is notably faster as well.

Try out Wallbreaker Jynx today! Do it for Starships's birthday! :D

Nicki Minaj @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Dry Skin
EVs: 252 SAtk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
-Ice Beam
-Psyshock / Psychic
-Trick
-Lovely Kiss

The classic ScarfJynx set -- with a twist. Scarf + Lovely Kiss allows you to come in on dangerous (setup) sweepers and cripple it with sleep, when Jynx would otherwise be unable to stop. With Jynx's naturally high speed and a scarf, you can easily outspeed most things at +1, and hell even some things at +2 such as Gorebyss. By using Lovely Kiss, you not only destroy a Pokemon which you otherwise can't touch, but also help the team check a dangerous sweeper. Plus, you possibly gain momentum because the opponent is most likely going to switch to his Jynx counter and you can possibly predict around that.

The movepool for the rest of the part is pretty much the standard set. Ice Beam for STAB. Psyshock is preferred because you get to hit special walls if you don't want to waste your scarf or kiss, but Psychic works too.

(Yeah I use this set)

Edit: whoops didn't notice this was already on site. Count me out

Jynx @ Expert Belt
Trait: Dry Skin
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
-Lovely Kiss
-Psychic
-Focus Blast
-Ice Beam

Jynx has always been known as a Pokemon that breaks through a number of Pokemon while being unable to stand a hit against them. Jynx is also known for its absolutely superb coverage, hitting top tier threats ranging from Sawk to Golurk for SE damage. The problem, though, is that it weakens itself in the process with the help of a Life Orb, which it doesn't even need, as its power is more than enough to knock out the aforementioned threats, and more. The moveset and EV spread are the standard; the item is the one thing that stands out. Expert Belt not only helps Jynx bluff a Choice set, but it also gives Jynx a chance to survive much longer throughout the match. Watching your opponent's Sawk die to a Psychic is good, and as they assume that Jynx is Choiced, they switch in to their Skuntank, just to be smacked by a Lovely Kiss in the face.

Jynx (F) @ Focus Sash
Trait: Dry Skin
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Ice Beam
- Focus Blast
- Counter
- Lovely Kiss

this set is best used as a lead since you need focus sash to be intact. many players will try to kill you off early with something such as primeape, scolipede, or tauros, but they will end up taking a counter to the face. if played correctly, this set can take out two pokemon with counter and lovely kiss while still being able to dish out damage with its attacks.

Jynx @ Leftovers
Ability: Dry Skin
EVs: 252 Special Attack, 252 Speed
Moves:
Substitute
Calm Mind

Ice Beam
Focus Blast/Psychic
I use this set in ADV OU, so it isn't much of a Stretch to use it here. Picture this: you come in on an Alomomola's Waterfall, taking Nothing. You Substitute as the fish either tries to Toxic or switches out. You then either set up or attack, depending on What's out. Ice Beam is the Main STAB. Focus Blast can be used to hit Rock and Steel Types, while Psychic is the other STAB that hits Primeape and Scolipede harder. This set it truly the Next Best Thing.

Jynx (F) @ Focus Sash
Trait: Dry Skin
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Lovely Kiss
- Icy Wind / Ice Beam
- Focus Blast
- Nasty Plot

Best lead and then FLCL set :] This is a Nasty Plot set with a twist, that can work better like lead and w/o the bad coverage of Ice mono attacker walled by things such Regice and Munchlax. Ice + Focus Blast have a great coverage actually while Icy Wind down the Speed to the opponent, Ice Beam is stronger.

Changing my entry to this:

DramaticJynx (Jynx) @ Life Orb
Trait: Dry Skin
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Fake Tears
- Lovely Kiss
- Ice Beam
- Psychic / Focus Blast

Fake Tears transforms Jynx into an ultimate wall breaker. This set functions almost the same as Acid Spray Eelektross but Fake Tears does not inflict damage. With the use of Fake Tears, even common checks/counters like Munchlax will have some trouble dealing with this Jynx set becuase of Fake Tears ruining its Special Defense stat. Last three spots are commonly used moves for Jynx. This is definitely the next big thing. (don't mind that mean look set)

@Dzi: But why would the Pokemon stay in in the first place? It would be common sense to switch out to a Jynx counter/check rather than staying in with a Pokemon that can't damage Jynx. The real benefit of such a set would be forcing the Jynx counter/check to take a Lovely Kiss, since trying to set up is risky if they get a short number of Sleep turns.
