Wow, this is a hard choice.

Annoyer's set can mitigate Armaldo's speed issues and use its STABs to scary effect while forcing a switch, or cripple bulky targets with Toxic. I think this is the 3rd SubToxic set posted so far (after Seismitoad and Mantine), not that they don't work. The problem is that Armaldo's switch-ins are usually Ghosts in Missy and Golurk to block a spin, and Armaldo often can't really cripple or get rid of them quickly enough to bypass them.

Raseri's set makes use of its goos dual STABs to start a sweep, while hitting Golurk in the process. The issue here is that Carracosta gives it severe competition with boosted power, priority, and more physical bulk to set up on the same threats Armaldo does. Armaldo's only advantages over Costa are its STAB which shreds Musharna and Tangela hard and its typing that grants it neutrality to Ground and Fighting for easier setup against Normal (but not Flying) types.

vyomov's set incorporates Rain support to function at its fullest potential, and has greater sweeping potential thanks to Rain boosting Aqua Tail for Golurks as well as access to Swords Dance for a boost. The downside is that Armaldo needs a teammate to boost its speed for it via Rain Dance, and the lack of bulk investment does leave it pretty open as a result.

Tough call, but I'll side with Annoyer on this one.

I'd be more inclined to vote for Raseri or vyomov is their sets were Jolly. It's basically exactly what Raseri said in his post: "At +2 you outrun everything up to but not including Swellow..."

I feel like outspeeding Swellow is pretty important, though maybe that's just because I use Swellow a lot (more than I should), and I've run into a few Swift Swim Armaldo on the ladder that I've beaten strictly because my Swellow outsped their Armaldo in the rain.

Anyways, like I said, it's just my thinking on the matter. I love Swift Swim Armaldo and even got user: the wolf, to use it on her rain team. She's loving it because of how easily it can beat Grass-types, which rain teams usually struggle against. One thing's for sure: offensive Armaldo is undoubtedly better than Rapid Spin.

I really don't see a need to outspeed Swellow when it means sacrificing a lot of power against everything else in the tier. For one, Swellow can only ever revenge kill Armaldo. It does get the kill after Stealth Rock if Swellow is already statused, but to change the nature for one Pokemon, that is also one of the easiest offensive Pokemon to check (Swellow has a lot of hard counters lol) seems silly when I can get a huge power boost against literally everything else in the tier.

Not voting Annoyer because SubToxic seems to be the only way to win nowadays.

Voting saucemonkey1 because double dance is almost as cool as my set :)

Yeah, that's a really true point. I figured I was probably biased on that, since I run Swellow as much as I do. In fact, looking back, I'd say vyomov's Swift Swim set would want to be Jolly more than yours anyways since his can set up with SD and already has the Speed boost thanks to rain!

I'll be voting for Punchshroom because I hate whiffing Stone Edges. +2 Attack doesn't help at all if you miss.

Alas, jokes about a potential swagger suspect test have wounded me. I guess I'll be sitting out the next one.
