Welcome back everyone to the largest RU Tournament, the RU Open, ready to present its 9th iteration! Its been a while since the previous Grand Slam iteration where Adaam proved everyone to be on top of the Gen7 lower tiers, but with a new gen it shall prove to be a very exciting beginning, with a lot of competition to see if he can retain the trophy. You are all welcome to give it a try to win it all!

Recommendations so you dont get kicked in the ch... I mean kicked out of the tournament due to inactivity:

1
. Contact your opponent as soon as possible when round 1 happens. Activity is gonna be hella strict due to the amount of people that generally join this tournament.

2. When scheduling, try offering more than just 1 option for a day to play. If you can play only 30 minutes on a specific day of the week, then wouldnt recommend signing up.

3. Be as specific as possible at the moment of scheduling. "Sunday morning" or "After dinner" or "Whenever I see you online" wont cut it if you want to make an activity appeal. Specific date, put an array of hours where you are available for those days, and please put your timezone. What is a timezone?

4. Please no ghosting. Im a snitch so I will investigate and comment to the TD team if something shady seems to be happening.

And thats it. Feel free to ask any questions regarding the tournament or what you need to do get anything. Mistakes can happen, absolutely, but rest assured I will do my best to keep stuff as fluent as possible. If you want or need the confirmation of a TD regarding anything regarding a decision or something going on with the tournament feel free to do so.

Round 8:

odr  vs  Meru
Forsendi
 vs  Finchinator
Lopunny Kicks vs snaga

TOP 6, BABY. Amazing job for getting this far. After this finals soon follow so lets see who gets on the round robin!

Extension deadline will be until Wednesday 19th at 11:59 GMT -5
Round deadline is ideally on Sunday 23rd at 11:59 PM GMT -5 BUT I will not provide another extension for anything so get it done and I will post the inevitable round robin, thats a headache on its own. Ok?! Ok.

REPLAYS ARE MANDATORY FOR THIS ROUND, POST THEM OR AT THE VERY LEAST SAVE EM. WIN DOESNT COUNT OTHERWISE.

Have fun!

As per the rule that originated here, replays are mandatory for each Grand Slam open starting during the quarterfinals.

Given my understanding, Forsendi, Lopunny Kicks, and odr should all post the replays of their round 7 (quarterfinals) series before scheduling for or playing for round 8 (semifinals). To all of my RU enthusiasts wishing to see these replays, you are welcome :blobuwu:

Lost to Forsendi in 2, ggs and gl in the finals

Grats on your run so far and looking forward to seeing finals. Everyone left is super deserving and it will be a good watch for sure. Hopefully more people involve themselves in this tier/community as it has settled down quite nicely after what might have been the most destructive tier shifts of all time. Anyway, I am mostly happy with how I played this slam aside from a few errors in prior rounds, so cannot be too disappointed there at least. I am admittedly a bit salty about the replay thing because obviously the communities biggest tryhard would scout and change his approach with playoffs on the line, but I do not want this to take away from the fact that Forsendi used two cool teams and played a good series.

Thank you a ton to Ajna for the constant team support; when it is all said and done, you will be the RU goat I bet. Seeing your thoughts on the tier helped a ton and your teams are second to none. Feliburn is pretty ok, too, I guess.
