Hi. This is my Newark Warstory, and hopefully I'm doing a good job with it. I had a great time and I hope you have a great time reading this.
The day started with me and my sister, brother, and dad getting up at 4 in the morning. I was really hyped, because after my defeat at D.C, I changed my team a bit and was winning most of my PO matches. I wore my Unsocialized Homechooler T-shirt, and I was ready for a fun day. Here's my team:

Yes, I do run some unique sets (and even Pokemon in Bisharp's case) but it was working so I decided to go with it.
We arrived and got in line, and I started talking to the person next to me. He was from Marriland, and was sure that was the best forum ever period. He asked me to try guessing what moves his pokemon had. I said sure and every time he showed me a moveset a little of me died inside. He said he EV trained, but didn't care about natures (wth?!?) and he didn't RNG. Nonetheless We decided to friend rule if we fought first round.

Anyway, my sister and brother were waiting in the juniors line, so I was really nervous. That was what was mainly in my head, so I don't remember most of my early matches. Just bear with me here please.
Round 1 V.S Edward R
This was an ingame team. I think he had a Braviary or something, but anyway remember this match very well. He didn't play competetivly and it showed, so let's move on.
Round 2 V.S Tyler G
He lead with Terracott and I used my Terracot counter, Tornadus and Jellicent. I Tailwind and so does he, while protecting with Terrakion. I water spout and Acrobatics his Terrakion as he tries to Beat up. I'm pretty sure he sends out a scarf Haxorus and it comes down to Bisharp Sucker Punching it. I don't remember exactly, but it was another match won, and I was feeling really good about this.
Round 3 V.S Victor A
I was suprised I didn't recognize him as the 2nd place Juniors winner at Newark last year. I was there, and I should've known. but anyway my dad's and sister are watching me from the sidelines. Dad's nearvous, considering I was fighting last years National champion, and the battle starts. Most of the battle was a haze to me. I do remember that it was a really close match, with me barely winning. I really don't remember much about this battle, but I'll PM him on Pokebeach and see if he does.
Round 4 V.S Rayad K (Rukario)
This match is on the screen. I ask if he's from any pokemon forums and he's says Smogon. That got me scared, and we wen't back and forth asking if we RNGed, EV trained Etc. As we stopped talking he said this would be a tough match. I remember this match better than any of my others. I lead with Jellicent and Chandelure, and he leads with a Terrakion and Tornadus. I had seen a Jellicent on his team in Team preview, so I assume the Terrakion isn't scarfed, and he's going to Tailwind Protect. I decide to risk the fact that my Jelly is scarfed and Trick room.
Everything goes exactly as I planned.
Turn 1: Terrakion Protects, Tornadus Tailwinds, Jelly Water spouts, bringing Torn down to 50%, and Chandy Trick Rooms. He facepalms and his little posse watching our match from the screen boos at me.
Turn 2: Torn protects, and I Water Spout Shadow Ball Terrakion, killing it. His posse boos at me again. (This happens every turn.) He then sends out Thundurus.
Turn 3: Thundurus Protects, Tornadus subs I break sub with spout and chandy is blocked by Thundurus' protect.
Turn 4: Thundurus tries to double protect and fails. Tornadus protects. Jellicent uses Water spout, bringing Thundurus health down to killing range. I trick room, changing the dimensions back, as his Tailwind peters out.
Turn 5: I Water Spout killing both his Torn and Thund. His posse boos at me again. I trick room back and he sends out Krook.
Turn 6: I expect Krook to go first. But it was scarfed. I one-shot it with Overheat and I win with no damage taken.
Battle Video Number: 68-64119-23934
Finalists lounge: I was really happy that I made it this far. Human and some other people came up and congratulated me on my round 4 battle. I meet up with my dad, get some food and go back to the finalists lounge. My sister was out 1st round to another finalist, and my little brother made it to the 3rd round! He can't even read! 0.o
Top 32 Bye
I was really happy about this bye. I was aiming for top 16 and I had reached my goal. I cheer my friend from last year on, but he loses.
Top 16 V.S Caleb (BlitznBurst on Skarmbliss)
And this is who he lost to. He said he was from Skarmbliss, so I was nearvous. He lead with TerraCott and I decided to lead with Jelly Tornadus again. I Tailwind, his Terrakion outspeeds my jelly, Rockslides, and his Whimsicott somehow undersped my Tornadus and Encored. I facepalm.
Next Turn I had enough energy left to kill Terrkion with Water Spout and I switched Tornadus. I don't remember the rest of this match, but I remember I 2-0ed him.
Top 8 V.S Luis R
I honestly remember nothing from this match. Let's move on.
Top 4 V.S Mosquitox216
We both congratulated eachother on making it this far. I didn't remember much, but I remembered that it came down to him missing a double protect. It was a close match, but I barely won in the end.
Finals V.S Solace.
I had already won a 3DS and I was happy. I had talked to Solace. online before, but not in person and when we met, we just sort of picked up where we left off. This match is already on the Pokemon VGC website, so rather than explain it here, I'll just link it. Click Senior finals here to see it.
Me Solace and Mosquitox went to get our pictures taken, I was interviewed, and I had a great time.
Nats Warstory: Where the hax took over...
I was really hyped for nats. I had been testing on PO some more, but my original teamwas doing better than anything else, so that's what I used. We got on the plane and got to the convention center just in time for the masters LCQ to start. We heard about JRank not making it (:() and my dad wen't to the hotel room to get some rest while I was introduced to the rest of team seniors.
After talking for a bit I wen't over the the screens and saw Amarrio Cabberao (Gosh I spelled that wrong) and we had a test battle that I won. I also saw imperfectspider and test battled him, wining again. This made me feel really great about my chances. Maski, imperfectspider, and some others also mentioned that they were changing there teams for nats, although I never got why...
Anyway, after some rest in the hotel room, we wen't down to the hall to start the swiss.
I was sitting next to Lucian Lachance, and we struck up a conversation. We started talking about team types (He said he used Trick Room. NEVER BELIEVE ANYONE ABOUT THERE TEAM TYPE.) and about how we didn't wan't to fight each other and stuff.
Round 1 V.S Bruno (AKA Kid kadabra) BS miss time!!!
I assume Trick Room from team preview so I lead with Chandelure, while he leads with Whimsicott and Hydreigon. I imprison... ON A SWITCHEROO!!! So yeah, I'm stuck with a scarf imprison Chandelure... I can't remember the rest, but at 1 point I had my Chandelure out with a Tornadus. The Hydreigon had low enough health I could kill it with Overheat and finish his conkelldur with Acrobatics... and then I miss with overheat, he Draco Meteors my Torn, and conk rock slides for the K.O. BS
Round 2 V.S Kenan (AKA Lucian Lachance) BS Matchup hax.
As you can probably tell from this point, I fell for his Trick Room bluff and lose miserably. I don't even wan't to talk about this one...
Round 3 and round 4 V.S 2 noobs.
I 4-0ed both of them and I can't remember anything. Let's move on.
Round 5 V.S Brendon Tang (AKA Maski's Undoing)
He leads with some Trick Room leads and I imprison them. I KO Renaclus and his other 2 pokes, but he got rid of my Tornadus, and and I was sweeped by his scrafty. I felt terrible after this match, because I know I misplayed, but I don't know where.
Anyway, I'm in a depression at this point because my only opponents are doing as bad or worse than I'm doing. I win the next 2 matches, but I didn't make it, seeding 30th.
Me and my dad saw a minor leauge game. and team seniors hung out at Maski's hotel room.
The next day we saw who qualified, team seniors had a pool party, and multibattle tourney, Kid Kadabra trolled this trading card gamestore clerk (That was really funny) Kok tried to make out with Maski, and Cyber was on IRC 70% of the time. All in all, that was my highlight of being at nats. I loved meeting team seniors, and hopefully we can all make it to nats next year!!!
