THE TEAM TO WIN

THE TEAM TO WIN

Good morning, everybody.I started competitive battling this gen and currently around 1600 in ladder.

Bisharp is the king of the team. With a defiant boost,he can sweep teams clean and he had done that several times.

Gengar has several things that makes it a good partner for bisharp. It's immune to fighting and ground moves while also being a special attacker.Sharp takes care of psychic, ghost and dark types with low kick.Aegislash doubles ground and fire weakness while most fighting types now have some stuff to beat it.

Stuff that beats excadrill, has stealth rock and resistance to fire types.Garchomp was the answer. It cannot counter excadrill but it can check it with earthquake. It's weakness are resisted by bisharp too.

My team's late game cleaner and mega.Gyarados has electric and rock weakness easily taken care by chomp. It's also a powerful mega.Gyarados will mostly only evolve at late game as dark/water typing is pretty hard to cover with partners.Gyarados can also stop char x sweeps who is otherwise a threat to the team.

Clefable provides some security against set up sweepers. It's weakness are uncommon and easily covered while clefable also has a valuable fairy typing.I have been swept so many times by it's CM set.

Keldeo breaks walls and that's what this pony do.It lures mega venu and 2HKO with HP flying who is otherwise very annoying for my other members.

bisharp.gif

Bisharp @ Life Orb
Ability: Defiant
EVs: 80 HP / 252 Atk / 176 Spd
Jolly Nature
- Knock Off
- Sucker Punch
- Iron Head
- Pursuit

Bisharp is the team's star.It can break many pokemons after a defiant boost, which is not difficult to find with defog, sticky web and intimidate users being common. This set is pretty standard otherwise and pursuit at the last slot for trapping staff such as lati twins.

gengar.gif

Gengar @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 Def
Timid Nature
- Shadow Ball
- Focus Blast
- Substitute
- Pain Spilt

Gengar provides valuable fighting and ground immunity and pairs great with bisharp. It doesn't double fire and ground weakness unlike aegislash while it can also deal with fighting types more effectively cause figthing types usually just have some way to deal with aegislash rather than gengar. As gengar has a ton of sets,i'm not even sure what set to run but currently the SubSpilt set.
garchomp.gif

Garchomp @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Rough Skin
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SAtk / 252 Spd
Naive Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Fire Blast
- Dragon Claw

Garchomp is needed in order to check specific threats so chomp sets up hazards at mid game.Stealth Rock is needed in order to make bisharp a true threat while also being an awesome move itself.EQ+Dragon Claw+FB cannot be resisted and also roasts skam and bronzong.Togekiss can't still be dealt so it's best to left it for bisharp.
gyarados-mega.gif

Gyarados @ Gyaradosite
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Waterfall
- Earthquake
- Ice Fang

Gyarados also provides valuable factors but he's a mega which is enough to be unique.Pretty standard set so i'm sure i don't really need much to say.Waterfall is a must have,EQ and ice fang works amazing with mold breaker.
clefable.gif

Clefable @ Leftovers
Ability: Unaware
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SDef
Bold Nature
- Moonblast
- Aromatherapy
- Calm Mind
- Moonlight

Simple and deadly CM clefable.Clefable provides a check to special sweepers while aromathreaphy to heal pesky status that comes at the set up process.Moonlight for instant recovery and moonblast for a sweeping move.
keldeo.gif

Keldeo @ Choice Specs
Ability: Justified
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 SDef
Timid Nature
- Hydro Pump
- Secret Sword
- Hidden Power [Flying]
- Icy Wind

Yeah,no surf or scald here.Coverage is what i need and i'm lucky enough for hydro miss.Hydro Pump for insane power and secret sword helps keldeo break chanset easier.HP Flying for mega venu switch ins and icy wind to deal with stuff like dragonite and other stuff.

Final Notes

I'm not sure about gengar's moveset and also is clefable worth for the team?

What about making gengar a SubTauntWoW set and replace keldeo for another member?

Adding Threat list later

Why not use Soft-Boiled instead of MoonLight on Clefable? More PP, and isnt affected by weather. While Moonlight only recovers 25% if there's a sandstorm which in ou is pretty common due to Tyranitars.

You seem to have a sort of "POWERRRRRRRRRRRRRRR" mindset when making this team. But Scald on Keldeo is just better.

Hey,

This team is pretty interesting. I think you might have some issues with Thundurus, as LO variants can 2HKO or OHKO everything on your team. Your team also struggles somewhat with Charizard X, which can 2HKO your main check to it (Clefable) with Flare Blitz. Talonflame and Mega Pinsir are probably the biggest threats to the team, being able to set up on a Keldeo switch and OHKO the rest of the team easily. First, I would suggest you use Scarf Excadrill over Garchomp. This might seem like an odd choice at first, but I promise it's a good switch. Excadrill can check Thundurus, Charizard, and Flying types with Rock Slide (or EQ in Zard's case). This takes considerable pressure off the rest of your team (especially Clefable) as well as providing you with hazards control. However, as this takes away your Stealth Rocker, I would use Stealth Rock over CM on Clefable. This is a small change, but you don't really need a CM Unaware Pokemon. It's not going to sweep a well made team anyway, and you definitely want Stealth Rock. However, this does mean you won't be as effective against stall, and using Excadrill over Garchomp also makes you a bit weaker to Azumarill, so I would also use Will-O-Wisp, Taunt, Sub Gengar. This set absolutely murders stall, and can help you deal with Azumarill more easily by burning them with Will-O-Wisp.

Anyway, I hope I was able to help. Good luck with the team!
