The tenth dimension

I forget, I think that string theory really does only have 9 spatial dimensions and 1 time (equaling 10 dimensions), but there are 6 string theories or something, so they were united into M-theory, which has 10 spatial and 1 time.
 
Ok, now I've watched this again something doesn't add up. The fifth dimension is described the be the one where all potential alternate timelines reside, all resulting from choices made. But they say the sixth dimension is where 'other worlds' are, one of which where the man becomes rich, i.e. entirely different to an alternate timeline. How is this 'other world' distinguishable from other universes, given that it isn't just an alternative timeline where the man can become rich (borne from consequences of something random)?
 
Alrite, so I just watched this video with high school level physics under my belt so Im a bit confused. I understood the concepts of it well enough, but I'm confused by the logic behind it. Towards the end it was mentioned how the higher up dimensions have an impact on sub atomic particles, but what is the proof? Basically what is the string theory and how was evidence for higher up dimensions.

The whole video blows away my theory of time not existing as a dimesnion but rather as a measurement for a progression of events.
