The 'What Do You Drive?' Thread

I wanted to see how us smogonites are rolling. Let me start:

car.jpg

I drive a '98 Chevy Cavalier Z24. It was originally electric blue when I bought it, but I got it painted, detailed, and generally tricked out. I've got a custom spoiler, a sweet deck and speakers, new rims, and a black and red interior. This thing is my BABY. Mileage is decent, insurance is quite good, and I'm really happy with it.

I get so many comments like "Oh, I could have a car as good as that if my Daddy payed for it, too," which pisses me off greatly. I mean, come on. I worked my ass off since Freshman year to get the cash for this thing. Damn it. But I think the satisfaction of having such an awesome car is compensation enough for me. People are just jealous. Except for those bitches whose Daddy did buy their car for them.

So what is everyone else here driving? I hope I didn't come off as too much of a braggart here..

Nice car Nopie! My only problem with it is the spoiler, I can't stand those things. My thoughts are unless it is actually keeping your car from floating off the ground, it's just a silly-looking piece of plastic.

I drive a 2005 Pontiac G6, got it used last June. It came fully loaded which was badass because I could've bought a brand new one for the same price with absolutely NOTHING in it. Not even auto-windows.

Thanks! ;)

My sentiments on spoilers are pretty much the same. It's just that my friend who is studying at trade school to be a mechanic/body shop worker totally hooked me up with an overstock from his garage and sold it to me for $20. Obviously, I couldn't resist :p

Me with my car:

It's a 1999 Pontiac Grand Am, 2-door. It's got the smaller engine of the two models but whatever, it's a pretty sweet first car for me. My brothers are both sitting inside of it in this picture.

I don't drive now but I'll probably end up driving my parents' 2001 Chevrolet Suburban. With gas prices these days I doubt I'll be driving it much...

Luckily Lexx, we in New Jersey have the second cheapest gas prices in the country next to...I believe South Carolina. However, I don't think anything can help you with that beast of a vehicle.

yeah 12 miles per gallon is pretty tough... the thing has 100k+ miles too so that'll be fun to maintain >_> luckily my parents say that they'll pay part of the gas money if I drive my siblings to school, so it may not be that bad.

Right now I drive my mom's 2005 Honda CR-V. It's an awesome car, but after I get my license and I'm done with my summer job then I'll get my own one. I know I'm taking my driver's test on May 1st, so I'm excited.

My mum currently drives a Hyundai Getz which will be mine once I learn to drive. My dad wants her upgrade to something better as soon as possible.

Raikou: Mini Coopers are awesome.

Auto windows are overrated. Mine broke on both sides, so my cheap ass just ripped them out and put in cranks. Never had a problem since :)

You too?

2000 Cavalier. Not a Z24, I've heard too many horror stories about the engines in those things. Hardly broke the bank, it cost me $4,000 with only 47,000 miles on it. That being said, though, to anyone who doesn't know what it is, it looks like it cost a lot more ;)

Haven't really tricked it out the way you have, for one thing I'm not too fond of huge spoilers (the stock one looks nice, though) and body kits that absolutely destroy any kind of ground clearance you might have. I added carbon fiber side mirrors and door handles, though you can't really see them in that pic.

Lol, do we have the same seats?

I'm sure you already know about it, but if you don't, here's an enthusiast site for Cavalier/Sunfire owners: http://www.j-body.org

Due to some fucktard who doesn't know how to drive, it now looks more like this:

Previous car was a 2002 Toyota Corolla, which was the absolute worst piece of shit I'll ever drive.

This was my first car ever. I'm an idiot for ever selling it...

Also had a Honda Accord (slightly less shitty than the Corolla, but still a POS), and a Toyota Cressida (gas hog "old man car.")

just sold my MR2 turbo for an 08 350z

i really wanted the nismo tuned Z but there was a rather large gap in how much money i was willing to spend and how much it cost....

i have to admit i miss the 2 but the Z is much faster around the track. i autoX regularly in the stock class. i plan to move up to the lightly modified class as soon as funds permit.

also, raikou, did you own the soft top or the coupe roadster?

(Volkswagen awesomeness )

Dude, that car was ABSOLUTELY awesome, i love these!. You're an idiot for selling it...hehe.

Oh some pimp cars already, i just wish i get a Mustang 65 someday.

Nevermind, I found one, lol... it's peeking around the corner for attention because that blue thing is in front of it.

Yeah, I understand why, that blue thing is quite a gorgeous piece of machinery.

vespa, those are some sick wheels man.

Soft top, the MZ3 hatchback is called the M Coupe and the soft top is the M Roadster. A lot of people confuse them with the M3. I don't like the look of the M Coupes at all, the new MZ4 Coupe on the other hand is what I wish to get after college if the price comes down enough.

Cool to see that you autox, if I get the Cooper S it will be a cone queen for sure.

most definitely, the coupe is just funky looking. that cooperS should be a monster around the orange, so light and nimble with a nice helping of ass kicking boost. i see you live in seattle after following the link on your picture. i autoX over in everett at the Boeing plant next to the Paine air field. if you ever feel like coming just hit me up sometime over the summer, i go pretty much every weekend.

also, thanks DM. i've been working my ass off since junior year of high school to build up my "sick car fund". now i just have to learn to keep my foot off the pedal or i might have to start a "my car drinks more than i do" fund

I drive a 2007 Jeep Wrangler Sahara... fourdoor fourwheeldrive. Lots of fun to take on camping trips. n_n

gas mileage is complete shit, though.
