back in 2022 when i first started playing for midwest (after pm'g the wrong manager to get on the roster) i was told by many that the team had no chance winning this tour including by starry who pms me every tour that we're fucked (including this tour). on paper, outside of a few slots midwest lacks star power gambling on several slots just to have a competitive roster and some of best players consistently die midtour. for me that gambling was an opprotunity to play and it has given many others a shot as well (mike, heileone, drip, kyo, goat zazo) which is always as exciting as it is nerveracking.
i still rmbr joining midwest cord and being bombarded IMMEDIATELY. despite being in several 1v1er servers, midwest is definitely one of the most hostile cords ive ever been in LMAO. constant flaming over nothing, doomsdaying before the tour even starts, six people all pm'g host with conflicting information, a bot that exists for the sole purpose of shitting on starry, massive pm chains to get anything done (imagine waking up to mannat+starry+luthier dms playing peacemaker for two months). sincerely, it has been a ton of fun. ever since i joined the site in 2019 so many teamcords are just dead/dispassionate and to have an active cord with people you know will speak their mind+care about the tour is always reassuring and a blast.
starry and MANNAT thank you for taking the chance on some 1v1 idiot who loaded stall his second ever official game. you have been the source of many headaches but also many good times. midwest cord is consistently hilarious and you're big reasons for that. despite your inability to Stfu at times, the passion you have for building the team has finally paid off.
Luthier and Tricking I will always attribute my improvement to getting many games against you both in 2022. nearly spotless players with great minds for the game. been great talking to you over these years. GO THWACKEYS
our roster this year was incredibly strong and i enjoyed playing pokemon with yall. sv is in an honestly atrocious state rn and we sometimes stumbled but in the end the combined effort was enough to put us over the finish line. thanks to the outside helpers, hope to see frito and potatochan drafted in scl as they have been amazing support. thanks to ausma for stepping up as manager of this goddamn circus and doing a great job.
the people I've met playing mons is the reason I've stuck around for so long, finally broke the 1v1er trophy curse. pleased with this result that i could finally take it home for midwest
