the yellow turban rebellion

Ain't no rest for the wicked
this team is in honor of the AP world test i took today and completely PWNED i made this team around the heatran metagross combo. though these these pokemon aren't the most common duo, when scarfed, i find they are able to attack most threats fairly easily. so here goes.

breloom
286.png

poison heal/impish
toxic orb/236HP/248DEF/24SPE
facade
substitute
spore
leech seed

although a very uncommon lead, i find it works affectively. slower leads, such as swampert, get completely shut down by spore or their switch ins suffer that fate. as the enemy switches out, i either set up a substitute or use leech seed, generally the latter since it lets me heal a lot of hp. if im facing faster leads, i tend to switch to a counter since opponents tend to attack breloom oor taunt it in fear of being put to sleep. facade was choson over focus punch because it could hit baton pass team leads harder, since my team can't do all that much to.

metagross
376.png

clear body/jolly
choice scarf/ 4HP/252ATK/252SPE
thunder punch
ice punch
earthquake
explosion

this is one of my team's cores. it has great coverage with its various attacks and can explode on any extremely dangerous threats. i didn't put meteor mash on this thing because i feel if i use it as a revenge killer or a counter, it is better to have better type coverage. becides, i have other pokemon who also pack powerful stab, such as (spoiler alert) gliscor and lucario. choice scarf allows it to outspeed most threats

Heatran
490.png

flash fire/ timid
choice scarf/ 4HP/252SPA/252SPE
fire blast
dark pulse
hidden power (ice)
earth power

my second choice scarfer and member of my core. Being a specially based scarfer allows it to kill many enemies metagross cant like scarmory. I use fire blast for stab, earth power for enemy heatran, hidden power to finish of all dragons and gliscor immediately, unless they have a yache berry, while dark pulse is to destroy ghost types. Dark pulse works very well on heatran as few people expect it and it can use the surprise factor to destroy the likes of rotom and gengar.

Latias
380.png

Levitate/ timid
Leftovers/252HP/252SPE/4SPA
Thunder wave
Wish
Protect
Hidden power (fire)

My main support pokemon. It can paralyze a bunch of enemies for me, giving Luke an easier late game sweep and allows latias to pass wish more safely. Wish is ideal for softening the switch for quite a few of my teammates into spikes if they are up, and protect makes sure latias can get the wish if it needs it. I put hp fire on this latias since most scizors assume once I use any of my other attacks I am using the support latias and feel it is safe to switch in and thus allows me to kill them with ease.

Gliscor
477.png

Sand veil/ impish
Leftovers/252HP/40 DEF/216 SPE
Roost
Stealth rock
Earthquake
Aerial ace

Since Breloom can’t set up rocks, I use gliscor to get the job done. It has the speed and defenses to do so with ease and can easily switch in on any earthquake aimed at my steels. Stone edge is to nail all the brelooms of the world while earthquake is for general stab. Roost is to make sure it can stick around if it needs to put up stones again after something spun them away.

Lucario
453.png

Inner focus/jolly
Life orb/4HP/252ATK/252SPE
Sword dance
Stone edge
Extremespeed
Close combat

Lucario, my late game sweeper. I generally start to use him once both of my scarfers were downed. After one sword dance, lucario can OHKO a bunch of pokemon with extremespeed, like jolteon (after SR) who would otherwise cause me a lot of trouble. Stone edge is for all the flying and ice pokemon out there, like salamence and piloswine, while close combat is for stab.

Well, that is my team thank you for reading my rmt.

sorry sprites failed me

Defensive Threats:

Blissey – if its not packing flamethrower, luke can decimate it. Otherwise breloom can hold out against it and put it to sleep if necessary.

Bronzong – Everybodies all over this guy

Celebi - Heatran or metagross. Both can take it

Cresselia – I use dark pulse from heatran till it dies. If nothings asleep, I can also sleep it with breloom.

Forretress - Heatran is great against it. Metagross is decent too.

Gliscor – once again, heatran and metagross destroy it.

Gyarados – metagross is my main counter though stone edge from luke does well too.

Hippowdon – heatran can deal with it using hp ice

Jirachi - Heatran does great. Metagross is good too

Rotom-A – heatran can switch in pretty easily and beat it up. Otherwise, if it doesn’t have overheat I can destroy it with gross

Skarmory – latias beats it up with HP fire. Gross and heatran can take it down with thunder punch and fire blast respectively

Snorlax – luke can beat it up easy. If I haven’t used façade yet, the enemy might think I have focus punch and switch.

Suicune – difficult but manageable. Calm mind versions go to breloom who seed it and use subs until its down. If I can sleep it though I do so. Metagross can deal with it prellt well to.

Swampert – I just bash it with breloom as I rarely see it outside of a lead, but if I see it otherwise, I just explode in its face. 2+ lucario can beat it up with CC

Tyranitar – luke heatran and metagross destroy it. Breloom can put it to sleep too.

Vaporeon – metagross can revenge it and breloom can switch in and set up on it. I generally go to the latter though

Zapdos – heatran can beat it up with hp ice. Metagross can use ice punch but fears heat wave

Offensive Threats:

Azelf - Heatran handles azelf very well with dark pulse

Breloom – difficult, but generally I can send my breloom out and just outlast it. Otherwise, if its sub is down, I can revenge it with heatran or gross.

Gengar- heatran can take it.

Gyarados – metagross deals with it well, and luke can take it if it hasn’t gotten a dragon dance in.

Heatran – my heatran can switch in on it easily. Metagross can revenge it if it isn’t scarfed into fire blast or earth power.

Infernape – metagross can beat the crap out of it. Gliscor can take close combat, but must fear HP ice

Jolteon - Can be a pain, but heatran can handle it.

Latias – both heatran and metagross can take it out easily.

Kingdra – breloom can live through ice beam, put it to sleep,, sub, or leech seed it. Then, a consistant stream of facades can crush it.

Lucario- gross is a boss against this guy, generally able to survive a hit and then beat the crap out of it with EQ. heatran does a similar job, but cant survive close combat
'
Machamp - in all honesty i just start beating the crap out of it as soon it switches in.

Magnezone - Heatran can handle it ok.

Mamoswine - Heatran is great if it doesn't predict and uses earthquake. luke can revenge kill it though.

Metagross - i use my own gross since i can always outspeed it unless it packs agility. if i find out it does when i switch, then i go to gliscor and then kill it with earthquake.

Salamence - heatran is great. it can outspeed it even after a dragon dance and OHKO it with HP ice.

Scizor - latias is great for this guy. otherwise, for a revenge kill or drive out, i can use heatran.

Starmie - metagross does great against it.

Tyranitar - gliscor is a decent counter if its not packing ice fang. however, on the whole, metagross can kill him swiftly and easily with earthquake.

Zapdos -most of the time i defeat it with metagross. if it already used agility, then i prefer to use heatran since it is able to take special hits better.

THE END

grats on acing your AP test!

nice team. I usually suggest thunderbolt over wave for dmg to pesky bulky waters, but your interesting breloom lead covers some of that. ou also might wanna try out taunt on your gliscor it destroys stall all by itself.

good luck!

cheers

Latias with no STAB is terrible. Give it Dragon Pulse over HP Fire, or Replace T-Wave with Dragon Pulse. Run Crunch on Lucario, Mence dies to a +2 Extremespeed.

Gliscor may want Taunt over Aerial Ace since you don't want Skarmory to switch in and set up spikes on you.

ok, i beleive i will put taunt on gliscor because i just got pwned by a beast stall team. i opted for hp fire over dragon pulse on latias mostly because i dont really use it kill anything and i got dragons pretty much covered. nonetheless I'll try dragon pulse. i put dark pulse on heatran because i don't have many other ways to deal with ghosts and then im pwned by all the rotoms and gengars of the world. i might try crunch over stone edge on luke to cover this, as recommended. I'll see how it works and get back to you guys. in the meantime, my threat list is up. i used the dark passenger outline from the archives. thanks.

I'm sorry that I can't give a full rate, but I'll do what I can. I'm sorry, but I really don't think that your breloom lead, as interesting as it is, is going to give you that many results in the OU metagame. It's currently full of quick leads and anti/sleeper leads, all of which screw you over. The only leads that I can imagine the set in front of me beating is swampert, and maybe metagross, but swampert leads are getting increasingly rare; Pert has recently been reduced to a wall that lays up SR. What I would do is replace it with a more reliable lead or at least give it protect over leech seed. That way you'll at least be able to beat sleeper leads by protecting on the sleep move and getting the poison up.

I like the coverage that you get form the dual scarfers, but the inherent flaw to them is simply that a set up sweeper can come in, set up, and start completely owning your team. I'm thinking a non bulky Gyara (does that even exist anymore?) and Agiligross. I would give Gliscor a Yache Berry, so that it can maybe stop such a sweeper in it's tracks, or just a sturdy wall that doesn't get hit 4x by an Ice move. Hope that I helped.
