The Rules said:
4v4 3*+ Emblem Battle
Emblem Battle Format:

Each Round, the battler ordering first selects one of their non-fainted Pokémon to attack one of their opponent's non-fainted Pokémon.

All items are equipped when sending in.

Single battle mechanics are in play for the duration of the round. For example, Earthquake only damages the targeted Pokémon and does not incur a spread move penalty.

NEW RULE: If a non-KO'd bench Pokémon has an ability that affects all Pokémon in the battle, all Pokémon on one side of the field, and/or all teammates except the user, that ability is always active, unless it is a #Trigger ability. These abilities will still be active even if they have text specifically limiting them to multi battles.

Effects on a Pokémon, such as Stat Increases/Decreases, Taunt, Torment, Aqua Ring, Sluggish, etc., remain for their specified number of actions when a round ends. These effects do not decay while the Pokémon is not participating in a round. For example, if a Pokémon ends the round Sluggish for one action (from use of Hyper Beam, for example), they will be sluggish on the first action of the next round they participate in combat.

Field effects, such as Weather, Terrain, Screens, Entry Hazards, etc,. remain in play for their specified duration when a round ends.

Moves that have different effects when switch = OK and switch = KO benefit from their switch = KO variants.

Abilities that summon Weather or Terrain will automatically not activate (i.e., no need for the battler to specify), if that Weather or Terrain effect is already in play.

Damage from entry hazards is halved (rounded normally).

Welcome to the second trial of an innovative new format. Following the success of the previous attempt, creator TheEver has decided to experience the concept from the battlers' position, and their challenge has been answered by shadowpea. Both players have brought CAP-focused teams with diverse types and competent damage outputs; of particular interest are TheEver's Gengar and shadowpea's Aurumoth, both of which threaten the majority of their opponents with super-effective STAB attacks. Intuitively, initial impressions seem to indicate that TheEver possesses an advantage due to familiarity with the selected ruleset, but such imbalances can easily be mitigated by an astute opponent. (my understanding of things is that both sides are affected by friend guard and aroma veil thanks to the kerfluffles (but friend guard does not apply to either kerfluffle), and you additionally are protected by sweet veil because of tsareena, right? also, does queenly majesty's effects apply to your team as well?)

Yeah Queenly Majesty applies to my whole team, that was my secret tech haha. And yeah we both get Aroma Veil and Friend Guard while the respective Kerfluffles are alive and I get Sweet Veil and Queenly Majesty while Tsareena is alive. Kerfluffle doesn't benefit from it's own Friend Guard though you're right.

Following suit, TheEver targets shadowpea's Kerfluffle with a series of powerful attacks. To preserve their Pokemon's health, shadowpea employs a combination and a series of debuffs, minimizing the incoming damage and returning a flurry of small blows. With Gengar now hindered by a significant special attack penalty, shadowpea has earned some breathing room in future interactions, although their Kerfluffle is unlikely to survive further combat. Nevertheless, shadowpea may now select another favorable encounter, an opportunity which may allow them to seize the advantage for future rounds.
