There Will Be Blood

Hey guys, I've been competitive battling for about a year now but never got around to posting an RMT....or even joining smogon for that matter. I was bored today, so I decided to join and post one of the teams that I'm most satisfied with to date. I recently took a month hiatus from battling due to being busy with school, but this is the best team I've come up with to date. This is the main team I used when laddering to 1584 on the PO ladder back in January. I'd like to perfect it, so criticism is welcome. This team has a lot of choice users, but that's not an issue with a bit of prediction. Please ignore the overall shittiness of this RMT's design and just focus on the team.

Tyranitar @ Choice Band
Trait: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 Atk / 124 HP / 132 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Stone Edge
- Pursuit
- Crunch
- Superpower

Running choice band on T-tar allows me to do a minimum of 95% to Deo-D, making them fall after residual damage from sandstorm. This allows only one layer of hazards to be laid, which is nice. It also allows more damage to be dealt to Heatran, Skarmory, SubToxic Gliscor, and Ferrothorn...which need to be as weak as possible for Salamence to sweep. He also checks Lati@s by pursuit trapping them. He also eases pressure from Venusar, which poses a fair threat after he falls. Pursuit also does 75% to Jellicent and OHKO's Starmie with no switch.

Terrakion @ Life Orb
Trait: Justified
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 SDef
Jolly Nature
- Close Combat
- Taunt
- Stone Edge
- Swords Dance

Taunt is run for the prevention hazards from Deo-D, Forretress, and Skarmory leads. It also keeps Hippowdon and Skarm from being able to recover health, a thing which can be a major pain in the ass. SubToxic Gliscor (big threat when played smart) is another set harmed by taunts function. LO on Terra makes for a sure OHKO (with no SD boosts) on Ferrothorn, which is nice. Both Keldeo and Latios are demoshiled by CC and stone edge respectively, after rocks. SD allows for pressure to be put on defensive teams and makes a flat-out sweep possible after Lati@s and opposing scarfers are down.

Salamence @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Moxie
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spd / 4 SpA
Naive Nature
- Earthquake
- Outrage
- Fire Blast
- Dragon Claw
Naughty nature makes it possible to take down Gyarados and Rotom-W in one shot after rocks. Dragon Claw is for situations in which I don't want to lock myself into outrage and set myself up for an easy kill. Fire blast is for hitting steel-types on the switch. Not much else to mention here. This guy just sweeps.

Keldeo-Resolute @ Leftovers
Trait: Justified
EVs: 252 SAtk / 252 Spd / 4 HP
Timid Nature
- Calm Mind
- Hydro Pump
- Hidden Power [Ghost]
- Secret Sword
I run HP ice in place of HP ghost since Jellicent, Starmie, and Lati@s are anihillated by T-tar. HP ice hits all the same threats that HP ghost does in addition to hitting Salamence, Dragonite, Garchomp, and Venusaur hard. It's also nice to be able to take down Gliscor and the Landorus forms without having to worry about a miss from Hydro Pump.

Landorus-Therian (M) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Intimidate
EVs: 32 HP / 252 Atk / 224 Spd
Jolly Nature
- Stone Edge
- U-turn
- Superpower
- Earthquake
A defensive leftovers spread on Lando gives me the option of stealth rock and more bulk so that Terrakion can't buzz-saw its way through my team as easily. The 156 EV's in speed allow me to outrun Lucario and Heatran, while at the same time providing enough defense to soften the blow from hard-hitting physical attackers. HP ice is certain to bring Gliscor down to just enough so that he can't set up a substitute. By hitting other Lando and Gliscor with an HP ice, I make it far easier for Salamence to sweep.

Rotom-Wash @ Leftovers
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 248 HP / 28 SAtk / 232 SDef
Modest Nature
- Will-O-Wisp
- Hydro Pump
- Volt Switch
- Pain Split
Rotom-W. Standard set. Hydro Pump for STAB. Volt-switch for STAB and maintaing momentum. WoW is great for crippling physical sweepers that pose a threat. Pain Split for recovery, hydro pump for STAB/opposing rain abuse. This guy is an excellent check to opposing weather teams and special attackers overall. I run calm over modest because this team appreciates the defenses more than it does the un-needed extra power that modest provides. The special attack investment makes it so that Gliscor is OHKO'd, so modest is not needed. The rest of the set is self-explanatory.
Thanks for reading, guys. That does it for my horrible first RMT.

*Ignore the unloaded pics for now, if possible. I'll fix them later when I have more time.

Hey, got the request.

Quite a nice sand team you got here, I really like the synergy it has, so kudos to you. Anyways, there are some flaws that I can see, so hopefully my rate can help this team improve and iron out the aftermentioned flaws. With that said, let's get to the rate. Alright, first up, I would like to suggest running Sacred Sword over Earthquake on your Terrakion. Earthquake has real redundant coverage with Close Combat and Sacred Sword is an alternate STAB for when you can't afford to lower your defenses. Moving forward, I would recommend changing Salamences 4 HP EV's into Special Attack and running a Naive Nature over your current choices. The 4 Special Attack EV's help you get the KO's on Ferrothorn and Scizor by boosting Fire Blasts power a little. Up next, I wouldl ike to suggest running Hidden Power Ghost over your current choice of Hidden Power Electric. Hidden Power Ghost helps you against many Ghost types, and especially helps you againt the Lati Twins. Finally, I recommend running a spread of 248 HP / 28 SpA / 232 SpD and a Calm Nature over your current EV spread and Nature. The 28 Special Attack EV's are for OHKOing Max HP Gliscor with Hydro Pump who otherwise walls this set. Well, that's all I have to say for now. I hope my advice helped. Have fun and good luck in your future endeavours!

First off all , hello amon :) , after that let's go to talk about you team, looking your team evs, moves and Types i think you have soo much problem with scarftios, he no fear nobody in your team and even with SR he switch much times in the fight, i think you should use an Steel type like CB scizor or heatran, this can help you, and i will try naive sala for outspeed modest scarftios, really i no know what keldeo does here, he is much better in a rain, not in a sand, so i think is better put CB scizor over keldeo, : scizor(m) @choiceband ,trait tecnician 248 hp/ 252 atk/ 8 speed, pursuit superpower bulletpunch uturn. Tyra no need focus, use chople berry over it,i should use a rock polish sheerforce life orb landorus with modest nature, you really need another special sweeper, try him over lando-t : landorus @ life orb , trait sheer force, nature modest, 252spatk/252 speed/ 4hp moves : rockpolish focus blast earth power. With this set you can hit hard even blissey (max hp and max spdef and nature with more spdef will recive a huge 40% of life , tested by me) i hope i was helpful, sorry bad english but Imma italian, good luck and see you :) ASD! My fail :P with Lando i lost a move xD, it's hp ice for dragons and other lando and gliscor

Thanks for the rate doc. I was using all those changes (save for sacred sword over eq on terra) on PO. I just grabbed the import from PS, where I was using this team during my more noobish days, since I can't get on PO right now. So I should make those changes. EQ on Terra really is very redundant though. I can see where sacred sword would be better. Making that change now.

Thanks again!

Hello, got your request.

Very nice team you have here so props for it. However, I have some advice you so let's start with the rate. First of all, I found a weakness to psychic-types like Alakazam, Reuniclus and to Gengar because all these pokemon can kill Tyranitar with their Focus Blast and then smash your team with Psychic speaking about Reuniclus and Alakazam and with Shadow Ball speaking about Gengar since you haven't a solid switch them. To solve this weakness, I suggest you to change Tyranitar's set in a Special Defensive one with Chople Berry, Chople Tyranitar is a good check for Alakazam, Reuniclus and Gengar since it can resist to one Focus Blast and then OHKO Alakazam and Gengar and 2HKO Reuniclus with Crunch. I'd use a EV spread of 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SpD with a moveset of Crunch, Stealth Rock, Pursuit and Superpower, with Sassy nature and with Chople Berry obviously. Then, on Salamence I suggest you to use Naive nature replacing Adamant and to use Stone Edge replacing Dragon Claw because Volcarona can be a problem for this team since after a Quiver Dance nobody in your team can revenge-kill it so Stone Edge would help you a lot against Volcarona and I'd use Naive nature to increase Fire Blast's fire power and to increase Salamence's Speed which is always useful to outspeed stuff. Finally, I agree with Dr. Ciel's suggestion to use Hidden Power Ghost replacing Hidden Power Electric on Keldeo which allows you to hit hard Jellicent, Celebi and Lati Twins.

Good luck!

Thanks Alexander. I have a few different variations of this team and Chople Berry T-tar is something I toyed with. It does do wonders for dealing with psychic types and gengar. It's also nice to be able to pursuit trap the lati@s twins. I've never considered running stone edge on mence though. Awesome idea. Really appreciate your input.

Please keep the rates coming people! And luvdisc this if you feel it's deserving.

woops, wrong account. thought I changed this password and couldn't recall it, but it turns out I didn't. AmonTobin and psilo are one in the same.
if a mod see these, don't ban me pls......just delete the other account and transfer ownership of this thread to this account if possible.
