Things you have cooked up lately

I'm a serious sandwich buff. Sandwiches are so versatile. I’d like to share a simple sandwich recipe that utilizes the egg, one of the most versatile kitchen essentials.

You’ll need:

2 eggs

2 bacon strips

Leaf/romaine lettuce

2 bread slices

Mayo and mustard

Toaster oven (optional)

First, pan fry some eggs (don’t break the yolk!).

Simultaneously, cook two strips of bacon. I find it’s easy to microwave them for about two minutes, and it saves the hassle of cooking them in a pan.

Spread mayo and mustard on a slice of bread.

Stack the bacon on top of the saucy side, and cover with lettuce.

Put cooked eggs on the other side and close the sandwich.

I like to toast my sandwiches because it makes the bread crispy and makes the mayo and mustard runny.

And that’s it! Here’s a cross section of the sandwich below. Note the runny yolk creating sweet harmony with the toasted bread.

And the best part is this sandwich took about 10 minutes to make.

made this yesterday for dinner:

I made burgers last night. Well, I tried to make burgers but I ended up with a charred mess. I am apparently not that great at cooking haha (still have a cough from all the smoke inhalation).

tbh i was desperately hoping for someone (besides me) to notice that koko bumped this thread exactly 1 year from the last post (feb 1st 2013).

but yes i await your precious instagram'd food pics too :>

I made Madeleines today!! They turned out quite nicely, if I do say so myself ^_^ They are the perfect texture. I still need to tweak the amount of vanilla extract I put in, since this recipe turned out less vanilla-y than I wanted, but that's okay! They are still delicious!

I'm going to be baking a lot during the next few weeks, so expect increasingly elaborate dessert posts over the course of February!!!

my girlfriend loves everything to do with britain, so I decided to surprise her with /what I think) is a full english breakfast. i'm no great cook, but i'm learning, and this wasn't exactly hard. looked absolutely delicious though. I fried up champignons and spring onions together (i like to cook japanese too, so the onions were in large chunks). then i wrapped bacon around some bratwurst, coz it's just decadent. finally fried up some eggs and put on the baked beans, and we each also had two slices of buttered toast to go with it. it pretty much filled me up for the whoe day!
