this one kid and his rain team

Once again, for the SECOND TIME, my whole 2 hours worth RMT just got deleted because my explorer closed, so don't expect me to attempt to type alot in this. This is my first OU team. I have played it, so I know how to use it. I just wanted to do a RMT so i could get an outside opinion on this, but it looks like my computer won't let me... lets try this again.

AT A GLANCE:

TEAM:

Tide To Go (Rotom-W) @ Choice Specs
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Thunder
- Hydro Pump
- Shadow Ball
- Volt Switch

~This is my lead. I know the lead meta is dead due to team preview, but this thing has swept through whole teams with Hydro Pump without rain. Not much else to say, except that I am very satisfied with this poke.

P-diddy (Politoed) (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Drizzle
EVs: 252 HP / 116 Def / 140 SAtk
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Hydro Pump
- Toxic
- Protect
- Ice Beam

~The use of this poke is obvious. When I chose to do a rain team, I thought that I being limited to 5 1/2 pokes to work with, with having to have this poke on my team. I am blown away at the usefulness of this pokemon. It Toxics the things that switch in from retreating fires (except for Ferro), and Protect is ever useful in stalling other weather pokes.

Chains/Whips (Ferrothorn) (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Iron Barbs
EVs: 88 Atk / 168 Def / 252 SDef
Careful Nature (+SDef, -SAtk)
- Power Whip
- Leech Seed
- Stealth Rock
- Thunder Wave

~Yes, I am a whore. Set up rocks, and annoy the fucking hell out of everyone with Leech Seed and Thunder Wave. Purely defensive, and very good at this in the rain, due to the weakness being halved, but i think there could be something else to fill this spot, that takes more advantage of rain, but I don't know.

Scizor Me (Scizor) (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Technician
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Bullet Punch
- Swords Dance
- U-turn
- Brick Break

~Usually a late game threat, and very underestimated. I'm thinking of using Pursuit over Brick Break, so as to not have to end my stat boosts against Psychics by U-Turning out. Either that or going for Bug Bite instead.

Magnetroll (Magnezone) @ Leftovers
Trait: Magnet Pull
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SAtk / 4 Spd
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Thunder
- Hidden Power [Fighting]
- Light Screen
- Reflect

~This set is tailored for special attacking, but I would be willing to convert it to a more defensive set for use in the rain and to make it unstoppable with screens up, but then I would most likely turn it into Eviolite Magneton. He uses HP Fighting for three reasons: 1) It is not ousted in the rain, 2) it hits most things for the same super effective damage, and 3) you can bluff HP Fire. The point of this set right now is to destroy steels and help set up for...

Dragaynite (Dragonite) (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Multiscale
EVs: 252 Atk / 128 Def / 128 SDef
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- ExtremeSpeed
- Brick Break
- Outrage
- Dragon Dance

~This is a very durable and strong poke who is also useful in the late game. He utilizes his EV spread and ability to get up his Dragon Dance, then has fun with the rest of the opponents team. As much as I love this guy, I feel like there is something better suited to do this job in rain. If I were to change Magnezone to Eviolite Magneton, i would probably change this pokemon to something else as well.

This team can hold its own quite well, but im looking for something game breaking. I'm willing to convert this team into a full offensive rain force. Right now i know i have problems with most Dragons (Hydreigon, Lati@s, Haxorus, ect, ect) and some fire problems as well. This team could use a good spinner, and more water power. (As i typed that sentence, Starmie just hit me!). Any and all help and criticism is greatly appreciated.

On Scizor, use Pursuit over Brick Break and Bug Bite over U-turn. On Dragonite take out Brick Break for Earthquake; Earthquake has a better coverage. Other than the 3 Pokemon Fire-type weakness, it looks pretty good.

1)shadow ball dont get stab so its kinda redundent, i suggest trick to cripple physical sweepers
2)id suggest encore on toed instead ice beam for better stalling and shutting down sweepers.
3)I wouldnt put pursuit on scizor cos contrary to popular belief pursuit doesnt get the technician boost if they switch since it raises to 80 bp, check smogon if you dont beleive me. And bugbite is better on sd scizor cos it gets the technician boost and you dont wanna toss all those swords dances away.
4) on a side note i like the nickname "Lets scizor" Better
5)And use eq over brick break on Dnite
6) Just a suggestion but you could try superpower on scizor over brick break. The stat drops hurt but scizor mainly late game sweeps and a +2 brick break doesnt OHKO ferro

Hi

This looks like a standard but solid rain team, I got some little suggestions though.

On Rotom-W, you can use a slightly different EV spread since you don't need max Speed cause Rotom-W is in it's own speed tier. A spread of 32 HP / 252 SAtk / 224 Spe allows you to outspeed the exact same things while it also gives a little more bulk. I also suggest you to try out Trick instead of Shadow Ball. Shadow Ball isn't STAB'ed anymore and you get good enough coverage with your other moves. Trick allows you to get rid of the Scarf so you can switch between moves while it also screws over an opposing wall.

I like the strategy you are using with dual screen Magnezone and Dragon Dance Dragonite. Although I'm pretty sure this is one of those strategies that looks good on paper but hardly works in practice. What I also notice that your team has a hard time in handling strong physical offensive threats such as Choice Band Terrakion, Excadrill, Virizion and Conkeldurr. Therefore I'm going to suggest Gliscor instead of Magnezone. With a moveset of Taunt / Sword Dance / Earthquake / Ice Fang you can handle the aformentioned threats but you will also have an easier time against stall teams and it gives you a status absorber. An EV spread of 244 HP / 184 Def / 80 Speed will suffice.

I also notice that the likes of Thunderus, Tornadus can give you problems. You also mention Haxorus, Hydreigon and Latios as a problem for your team. Without changing to much you could try out a Choice Band Scizor over the set you are currently using. A moveset of Bullet Punch / U-turn / Superpower / Quick Attack allows you to revenge kill the threats mentioned earlier and the somewhat bulkier spread of 248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 Spe will suffice.

Since you are running a more defensive Politoed set I think Scald instead of Hydro Pump is definitely to be considered. Getting a burn on switch-ins as Ferrothorn is more appreciated then the boost in power. With Protect you can even stall out the burn. You can also try Perish Song over Ice Beam. This will help you against Baton Pass (SmashPass) teams and last poke stat upper like Calm Mind Latias/ Reuniclus. If you take my Scald suggest a simple spread of 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SDef is going to fit better.

Dragonite prevents your team from being swept by the likes of Volcarona, Nasty Plot Celebi, etc. Therefore I suggest a more defensive EV spread of 252 HP / 44 Atk / 212 Spe. I also suggest Roost instead of Extremespeed to give Dragonite more survivability. Rotom-W is a perfect counter for Mamoswine so Extremespeed isn't needed that much.

Hope these suggestion helped and good luck with the team!

All of the other peoples suggestions are good, but i would reccomend changing ferrothorns ev spread to 252 hp, 88 atk, 68 def, 100 spdef. This will give you a lot more overall bulk and you will find your ferro taking hits a lot better. The fact that you are recovering less percent of your hp from leech seed shouldnt matter too much.

Thats a horrid suggestion for Ferrothorn lol it needs max Spec Def/Max HP especially on a rain team cause he can survive some fire attacks in rain with max Spec Def

Also, why all these adamant Dnites on rain teams? You can have 2 100% Accurate great coverage moves in rain with 120 BP and one gets STAB 0_o also, HP fire on Magnezone is the only reason to even have him on a team anymore. You want to KO steels as fast as you can not give them a chance to phaze you out/set up hazards

HP Fire is so useless in rain though (not that HP fighting is any good) other than for the Ferroporn (3hko lol). Otherwise stick to Fire/Ice

It is also true that Dragonite should try the rain abuse set to use the broken Thunder and Hurricane.

The only reason why you would want Protect over T-wave is one or more of 1) you use Tspikes 2) you toxic stall 3)the outstall Magnezone in rain who traps you

If not then just return to T-wave.

My theorymon tells me Scizor SD should work well.
