Snorlax @ Leftovers / Groundium Z
Ability: Thick Fat
EVs: 180 HP / 148 Def / 136 SpD / 44 Spe OR 192 HP / 216 Def / 56 SpD / 44 Spe
Careful Nature
- Curse
- Body Slam / Return
- Earthquake
- Rest

Snorlax is a rlly cool+versatile 'mon in this meta; the listed set takes less that 50% from Corkscrew crash (assuming Lefties spread), obviously takes fuck all from anything else Tran can throw at it, and either KOs back with Earthquake or just sets up Curses+Rests in its fucking face. Blacephalon does even bigger degree of fuck-all to Lax, especially if it opts to run Groundium Z to hit more mixed defensive Pex variants for big money as that also allows Lax to dodge Trick easily.

The listed EVs only happen to take less than 50% from Corkscrew Crash btw; the defensive benchmark they aim to hit is avoiding the 2HKO from CB Tyranitar SEdge after 1 Curse, outrunning Pex, and maximising overall special bulk from there (done using the closest estimate I could reach using this tool). A more offensive variant with Normalium Z and Double Edge can also be used, just make sure that you run enough special bulk on that to take SR+Magma Storm+2 rounds of Magma Storm chip+Corkscrew Crash from Heatran when you're figuring out how to distribute the EVs that aren't going into Atk or Spe.

Keldeo @ Waterium Z
Ability: Justified
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Calm Mind
- Hydro Pump
- Secret Sword
- Taunt

This core is heavily threatened by Keldeo, seeing as it's immune to trick from blacephalon, can pivot into Heatran fairly freely and can switch into anything but Shadow Ball from Blacephalon. In response, Keldeo threatens to OHKO both members of this core with Hydro Pump/Hydro Vortex depending on whether or not you can afford to risk a miss. Additionally, Keldeo can use Heatran as setup bait so that it can break through the rest of the team.

Gastrodon-East @ Leftovers
Ability: Storm Drain
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Def / 252 SpD
Sassy Nature
- Scald
- Recover
- Earthquake
- Toxic
Gastrodon does a good job walling this core with its Special Defense and typing. I would recommend strong Defog support as Gastrodon can lose to Blacephalon if there are Spikes on the field.

Crawdaunt @ Choice Band
Ability: Adaptability
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Crabhammer
- Crunch
- Knock Off
- Aqua Jet

Crawduant can live any one hit from Heatran and anything except Specs Fire Blast/Overheat from Blacephalon. It OHKOs either with Crabhammer and gets a free Knock Off against Blacephalon. Choice Band Aqua Jet makes it a really good check, OHKOing Blacephalon and having a chance to OHKO Heatran after rocks.

A Swords Dance set with a Z-move can also be used, this prevents Blacephalon's Trick from crippling it. Although Aqua Jet does significantly less to Heatran.

252+ Atk Choice Band Adaptability Crawdaunt Aqua Jet vs. 16 HP / 0 Def Heatran: 260-308 (79.5 - 94.1%)

252+ Atk Choice Band Adaptability Crawdaunt Aqua Jet vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Blacephalon: 452-536 (182.9 - 217%)

---

216+ SpA Heatran Corkscrew Crash (160 BP) vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Crawdaunt: 225-265 (84.2 - 99.2%)

252 SpA Choice Specs Blacephalon Shadow Ball vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Crawdaunt: 175-207 (65.5 - 77.5%)

252 SpA Choice Specs Blacephalon Fire Blast vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Crawdaunt: 241-284 (90.2 - 106.3%)

Highlights

Threat of the Week:

: Easily the best submission considering Choice Scarf Landorus-T is still one of the most splashable Pokemon.

Additional Notes:

: The given set seems really underwhelming considering it relies on Curse to boost, meaning it will be outsped by Toxapex, and raw Earthquake/Tectonic Rage will not KO Toxapex if played well enough. Considering Snorlax in itself is already an incredibly niche Pokemon, and the given set seems underwhelming, I will not archive this submission.

Round 37 Core:

Mamoswine @ Metronome
Ability: Thick Fat
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- Ice Shard
- Icicle Crash
- Stealth Rock

Magnezone @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Magnet Pull
EVs: 8 HP / 4 Def / 244 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Thunderbolt
- Hidden Power Fire
- Flash Cannon
- Volt Switch

  • Mamoswine mainly struggles with Pokemon like Mega Scizor, which Magnezone traps.
  • Try to post only OU viable Pokémon and don't post sets specifically for this core, additionally your threat should not be complete deadweight against teams that do not feature the core of Mamoswine + Magnezone. Everyone have a good day!

Swampert-Mega @ Swampertite
Ability: Damp
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Waterfall
- Earthquake
- Ice Punch
- Superpower

OHKOes both Mamo and Zone with Waterfall and EQ respectively. Survives Mamo's EQ if needed (not after 5 consecutive uses).

Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 200 Def / 56 Spe
Bold Nature
- Hydro Pump
- Volt Switch
- Pain Split
- Will-O-Wisp
While the classic washing machine isn’t on its prime time anymore, it is still a nice pick courtesy if its typing, letting it cover the likes of Landorus-T, Heatran, Mega Swampert, and naturally, Mamoswine. It also doesn’t mind Choice Scarf Magnezone too much, and unlike other Mamoswine switch ins, it isn’t Magnezone food.

Hawlucha @ Electric Seed
Ability: Unburden
EVs: 96 HP / 252 Atk / 36 SpD / 124 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Acrobatics
- Swords Dance
- High Jump Kick
- Roost

So long as you keep it out of Ice Shard range, which shouldn't be too hard with a defense boost and likely Reflect, lucha outspeeds and annihilates these two with HJK.

Mega Zam
alakazam-mega.gif

Alakazam-Mega @ Alakazite
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Psychic
- Focus Blast
- Shadow Ball
- Recover
Alakazam, while falling off slightly, is still an excellent pick in the current meta game. Due to its ability Trace, it resists Mamoswine's priority in Ice Shard and can trap Magnezone with Magnet Pull. Any viable Mega Alakazam set works here, but Recover + 3 Attacks works best to stay out of range of Ice Shard.

Waterium Z Ash-Greninja

Greninja @ Waterium Z
Ability: Battle Bond
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Hydro Pump
- Water Shuriken
- Dark Pulse
- Spikes

Regular form Greninja has a very high 93.8% chance to OHKO Magnezone with Hydro Vortex, and even if you don't want to chance that, you can set up a single layer of Spikes which will guarantee the kill.

Keldeo_(20_aniversario).png

Keldeo @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Justified
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Hasty Nature
- Hydro Pump
- Secret Sword
- Stone Edge
- Scald

Keldeo is able to switch into an Ice Shard / Icicle Crash of Mamoswine and scare it out with either Sccald or Hydro Pump. Scarf Keldeo outspeeds also Scarf Zone and threatens it heavily with it's signature move Secret Sword.

Felixx

I'm back.
(idk why it's not moving)
Zeraora @ Choice Band
Ability: Volt Absorb
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Plasma Fists
- Knock Off
- Close Combat
- Fire Punch

Zeraora walls/outspeeds scarf Zone and OHKOs both members of the core w/ Close Combat.

252 Atk Choice Band Zeraora Close Combat vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Mamoswine: 424-500 (117.4 - 138.5%) -- guaranteed OHKO

252 Atk Choice Band Zeraora Close Combat vs. 8 HP / 4 Def Magnezone: 312-368 (110.2 - 130%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Kartana @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Beast Boost
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Leaf Blade
- Smart Strike
- Sacred Sword
- Knock Off

I know using a Steel does seem counterintuitive vs a Magnezone but Scarf Kart outspeeds and gives the double bop to both of these mons. Kartana breaks through Magnezone with a tiny amount of chip and bops Mamo even harder.

Volcarona @ Buginium Z
Ability: Flame Body
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Quiver Dance
- Fire Blast
- Bug Buzz
- Hidden Power Ground

Volcarona outspeeds Mamoswine and threatens it out with Fire Blast. Magnezone is setup bait. Volcarona can also punish the opponent for locking Magnezone into HP Fire, so you can switch Mega Scizor into Mamoswine more freely, as Volcarona does not do that (Icicle Crash does a bit too much for comfort).

Swampert-Mega @ Swampertite
Ability: Swift Swim
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Waterfall
- Rain Dance
- Earthquake
- Ice Punch

sets up rain dance and kills both

Highlights

Threat of the Week:

: Outspeeds both and OHKOes both.

Additional Notes:

: Zeraora recently get unranked and it's never really seen success in the tournament or ladder scene.

Round 38 Core: Reuniclus + Ferrothorn

Reuniclus @ Leftovers
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 HP / 196 Def / 60 Spe
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Psychic
- Acid Armor
- Calm Mind
- Recover

Ferrothorn @ Leftovers
Ability: Iron Barbs
EVs: 252 HP / 92 Def / 164 SpD
Sassy Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Spikes
- Leech Seed
- Power Whip
- Gyro Ball / Knock Off

  • Double Dance Reuniclus is walled by most Dark-types, but with Spikes support from Ferrothorn it can usually outlast these Dark-types due to their lack of reliable recovery, making this core pretty hard to break.
  • Try to post only OU viable Pokémon and don't post sets specifically for this core, additionally your threat should not be complete deadweight against teams that do not feature the core of Reuniclus + Ferrothorn. Everyone have a good day!

Latias @ Latiasite
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Calm Mind
- Recover
- Stored Power
- Reflect Type

Reuniclus is a bitch to balance to face if the team lacks a strong answer to it, however, M-Latias is a good pick in this playstyle and is able to dick on Psychic Reuniclus, winning the CM war because of Stored Power. Reflect Type helps M-Latias setting up on Ferrothorn, as it try to set up Leech Seed, you block it and start to setting up CM, also M-Latias doesn't care about Spikes. I picked Reflect Type instead of Sub, because it allows you setup against AV Magearna, and avoid Pursuit trap from Tyranitar.

Hydreigon @ Darkinium Z
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 244 SpA / 32 SpD / 232 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Dark Pulse
- Fire Blast
- Earth Power
- Roost

Here we have a dark type that OHKOs ferro while roosting off leech seed damage that's immune to spikes. It may seem odd to replace Flash Cannon, but Earth Power is mandatory because Heatran and Hydra has a very tough time staying healthy against these two without Roost. With Fire Blast also being mandatory in order to 1v1 ferro given that Gyro Ball does more than you can roost, the only thing left to remove was Flash Cannon. Which means you have to run this on a team that's extremely hostile to the tier's fairies, but Hydra's typing alone kind of necessitates that anyway so... yeah.

244+ SpA Hydreigon Black Hole Eclipse (160 BP) vs. +1 252 HP / 0 SpD Reuniclus: 422-500 (99.5 - 117.9%) -- 93.8% chance to OHKO
244+ SpA Hydreigon Fire Blast vs. 252 HP / 164+ SpD Ferrothorn: 356-420 (101.1 - 119.3%) -- guaranteed OHKO
0 Atk Ferrothorn Gyro Ball (150 BP) vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Hydreigon: 168-198 (51.6 - 60.9%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Heatran @ Firium Z
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Magma Storm
- Taunt
- Earth Power
- Toxic

Heatran is able to utilize many Z-Moves along with Magma Storm and Taunt to break past many different defensive cores and other Pokemon. Magma Storm traps Reuniclus while OHKOing Ferrothorn. When trapped, Heatran can take apart Double Dance Reuniclus by using Taunt and Z-Magma Storm, while Reuniclus cannot do much back as it is lacking Focus Blast. The last 2 moves can be whatever since Heatran has many other options.

252 SpA Heatran Magma Storm vs. 252 HP / 164+ SpD Ferrothorn: 456-540 (129.5 - 153.4%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252 SpA Heatran Magma Storm vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Reuniclus: 187-222 (44.1 - 52.3%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Leftovers recovery
252 SpA Heatran Inferno Overdrive (180 BP) vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Reuniclus: 337-397 (79.4 - 93.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery

Well since this isn't a luring thread, think I should take the obvious mon?

Volcarona @ Buginium Z
Ability: Flame Body
EVs: 248 HP / 124 Def / 136 Spe
Timid Nature
- Quiver Dance
- Flamethrower
- Bug Buzz
- Roost

Just cuz this relatively new set is flames, and if you really wanna check these guys long term in a game, using the bulky bug is probably the move. Flamethrower OHKOs ferro perfectly, bug buzz will ohko at +1 or with Z. Both mons give you free setups regardless, u just gotta get rid of the opposing pexes, finis, trans, all those other bitches.

2FC355E3-25E9-472A-967C-43A773CCC069.gif

Any Blacephalon set works here, but Choice Specs works the best. Blacephalon can OHKO Ferrothorn with Flamethrower or Fire Blast. Reuinclus is also threatened by Shadow Ball.

Mawile @ Mawilite
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 92 HP / 252 Atk / 164 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Play Rough
- Sucker Punch
- Knock Off

No matter the set, Mega Mawile destroys this core. Reuniclus cannot beat Mega Mawile 1v1 unless it already has several boosts and the Mega Mawile is AoA, while Ferrothorn dies to Fire Fang or a boosted Knock Off.

Hoopa-Unbound @ Choice Band
Ability: Magician
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Hyperspace Fury
- Gunk Shot
- Fire Punch
- Zen Headbutt

Hoopa-U threatens both heavily since Hyperspace Fury is a clear OHKO on Reuniclus and Reuniclus can't do anything back with it's STAB Psychic,
Fire Punch takes care of Ferrothorn. This set or pretty much any Hoopa-U set threatens both heavily
