[OVERVIEW]

Thundurus-T is a powerful Electric-type wallbreaker that is able to power through typical Electric-type checks such as Tangrowth, Ferrothorn, Mega Venusaur, and Gastrodon thanks to the combination of an absurdly high Special Attack stat and a vast movepool. Despite its high Special Attack, Thundurus-T depends on boosting with Nasty Plot to break past the aforementioned Pokemon and specially defensive Pokemon like Mega Latias and Magearna. This is often easier said than done because Thundurus-T's Speed, while decent for a wallbreaker, leaves it easily revenge killed by much faster Pokemon like Mega Alakazam, Greninja, and Garchomp, which means it often won't get a safe chance to boost. Thundurus-T has issues breaking neutral targets such as Mega Latias and Mega Latios because it relies on Hidden Power Flying to hit these Pokemon. As an offensive Electric-type, Thundurus-T is heavily overshadowed by Tapu Koko, which is much faster and provides more utility for a team beyond just being a wallbreaker.

Hidden Power Flying is Thundurus-T's only special Flying-type STAB move, but it is necessary to power through bulky Grass-types such as Mega Venusaur, Tapu Bulu, and Tangrowth as well as provide neutral damage to Pokemon like Landorus-T, Garchomp, and Mega Alakazam without using its Z-Move. Focus Blast powered by Fightinium Z allows Thundurus-T to OHKO Ferrothorn and Assault Vest Tyranitar and severely dent Chansey at +2. Hidden Power Ice is an alternative move to hit Ground-types such as Garchomp, Landorus-T, and Gliscor for super effective damage while still being able to hit Grass-types, but it comes with the cost of losing coverage against Pokemon like Mega Venusaur and Mega Alakazam.

Volt Absorb gives Thundurus-T some defensive utility by being able to switch into a Choice-locked Tapu Koko's Electric-type STAB move or Volt Switch from Pokemon like Rotom-W and Magearna and recover some health while denying them momentum.

Usage Tips
========

Against balanced teams, it is best to determine whether Thundurus-T even has an opportunity to set up, especially against faster offensive threats like Garchomp, Mega Latias, and Mega Alakazam, since they can switch into it and threaten it out, which is why it is best to simply fire off a strong attack so that they don't necessarily come in for free. Thundurus-T can take advantage of its typing to freely set up against Pokemon such as Celesteela and Mega Scizor. Thundurus-T can also come into battle by a teammate pivoting against other Electric-types such as Tapu Koko, Zapdos, and Magnezone, but this play is generally not worth it because Thundurus-T relies on being healthy in order to effectively break foes like Assault Vest Magearna while having a chance to stay out of KO range of revenge killers' neutral attacks. Before sending Thundurus-T into battle, make sure Stealth Rock is cleared, as it can wear Thundurus-T down quickly if it switches into battle repeatedly. Try to save Thundurus-T's Z-Move for a target that is normally not threatened by either Thunderbolt or Hidden Power Flying such as Chansey, Assault Vest Tyranitar, or Gastrodon.

Team Options
========

Entry hazard removal from the likes of Tornadus-T, Tapu Fini, and Landorus-T makes them excellent partners to give Thundurus-T an easier time coming into battle. Toxapex can make a decent parter for Thundurus-T because of its ability to set Toxic Spikes, which can ease Thundurus-T's matchup against Gastrodon and Tangrowth. Pivots such as Landorus-T, Magearna, and Tornadus-T make for fantastic partners for Thundurus-T because they can bring it into the battlefield safely. Landorus-T also provides Intimidate support. Other offensive Pokemon like Ash-Greninja, Kartana, and Tapu Lele greatly appreciate Thundurus-T luring in and removing bulky Grass-, Water-, and Steel-types. Mega Scizor can also make for a decent teammate, since it also lures in Water-, Steel-, and Electric-types such as Magnezone, Toxapex, and Celesteela for Thundurus-T.

Other Options
=============

Electrium Z can give Thundurus-T an extremely powerful STAB Z-Move that gives it a better matchup against Assault Vest Magearna, but it loses the ability to dent Pokemon like Chansey. Thundurus-T can make use of Agility to boost its Speed, which improves its offensive matchup against Pokemon like Greninja, Tapu Koko, and Mega Medicham, but this requires giving up an important coverage option.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Faster Threats**: Thundurus-T's merely decent Speed means that it is outsped and threatened by Pokemon such as Mega Diancie, Greninja, and Mega Lopunny. Still, keep in mind that none of these Pokemon want to switch directly into Thundurus-T's moves. Mega Latias, however, can freely switch into Thundurus-T's coverage and STAB moves and easily recover back its health, while Mega Alakazam can easily Trace Volt Absorb and block its STAB attacks. Both of these Pokemon threaten Thundurus-T out of the battlefield because it only has Hidden Power Flying to deal any significant damage to them, while they can easily retaliate after switching in with their powerful moves.

**Specially Defensive Pokemon**: Pokemon such as Gastrodon, Chansey, and Assault Vest Magearna take any move that Thundurus-T goes for and can either recover the damage done or retaliate with Toxic or Fleur Cannon and Ice Beam in Magearna's case. While these Pokemon do need to be cautious of Thundurus-T's Z-Move, they can deal with it more easily once it has exhausted its Z-Move, forcing Thundurus-T to continue boosting with Nasty Plot in order to beat them. Unaware Clefable is also a definite counter because it will always take very little damage from Thundurus-T's attacks. Even though this is mitigated by Electrium Z, it still requires prediction for Thundurus-T to beat Clefable.

  • Thundurus-T is a powerful Electric-type wallbreaker that is able to power through typical Electric-type checks such as Tangrowth, Ferrothorn, Mega Venusaur, Chansey, and Assault Vest Tyranitar thanks to the combination of an absurd base 145 Special Attack, Nasty Plot, Hidden Power Flying, Focus Blast, and Fightinium Z.
I would rather you mention that it has a high special attack and vast movepool rather than mentioning everything as a whole just b/c it flows a lot better. Also replace all AV ttar mentions w/ Gastrodon since that's far more important as an electric check + ttar isn't an electric check anyways so idk why you keep on mentioning it.
  • Its decent Speed can be used to outspeed and remove threats like Tapu Lele, Mew, and Mega Charizard X.
I would rework this entirely; like it's speed tier is good for a breaker but it's still low enough to be p easily revenged by quite a lot of common things. Big one here's obviously chomper's the big one but also stuff like lati kart (neutral knock still does a bit and cb knock is a roll to ohko after rocks) w/e basically being slower than 110 speed tier is bad for it since it's weak to a decent amount of mons in that speed tier.
  • Volt Absorb also gives Thundurus-T some defensive utility by freely switching into Tapu Koko and Rotom-W's Electric-STAB moves.
It really isn't important enough for this to be mentioned in the overview; thundy’s niche as a breaker isn’t really affected by its ability so there’s really no point in keeping it up here

I really don't understand why this is necessary; sure HP Flying has low bp but it still achieves the rolls you need it to vs its intended targets. If your intention here is saying that it has low damage output vs neutral targets then mention that specifically. Also remove the lati mention because you're never actually beating it to begin with; yeah ok hp flying 2hkos but ice beam does like average 70 anyways so you're never breaking it unless it's severely chipped
  • Thundurus-T is often overshadowed as an Electric-type by Tapu Koko, Zapdos, and Rotom-W, which all provide more consistant offensive and defensive utility to a team by virtue of their stats, abilities, and secondary typings.
Would rather you focus solely on the offensive electrics here because defensive utility just isn't its niche. re: issues, there should be mentions of rocks weaknesses, the aforementioned speed tier and general lack of utility outside of breaking then being immediately revenged.

  • Thundurus-T should aim to wallbreak early- to mid-game to soften defensive walls for another teammate.
  • To accomplish this, bring Thundurus-T into battle with the help of a pivot or after a teammate has fainted. It can also safely come in against Pokemon such as Celesteela, Jirachi, and Scizor and proceed to set up or use a strong attack against them. It can also aim to set up against Pokemon like Kartana, Tapu Fini, and Landorus-T, but should not aim to switch directly into them because it is relatively frail and weak to Stealth Rock, which will shorten its time wallbreaking.
Honestly these points feel unnecessarily drawn out; these two points should be merged since they're legit covering the same subject but you honestly could have just condensed this into "take advantage of its typing and feel free to set up on xyz" etc.
  • Another method to bring Thundurus-T into battle is to try and pivot against other Electric-types such as Tapu Koko, Zapdos, and Magnezone, which prevents them from spamming their STAB moves as freely and presents Thundurus-T with an opportunity to set up and recover its health. However, it needs to be careful of coverage such as Hidden Power Ice from the former two and a Choice Specs boosted Flash Cannon from the latter, all of which can 2HKO Thundurus-T after Stealth Rock.
Same criticism from above; Not really too keen on this point in general tho since it's not really as rewarding as you're making it out to be. I would rather just phrase like "yeah it can do it but it's not really worth it" because lets be real you're either doing like average damage or like setting up without trading a decent amount of HP w/ the mon in front

  • Toxapex is a decent partner that can set Toxic Spikes, which gives Thundurus-T an easier time wallbreaking. Toxapex's passivity invites Defog users such as Tapu Koko, Tapu Fini, and Tornadus-T, which give Thundurus-T a good opportunuty to come in and attempt to wallbreak.
The rationale behind this is honestly just :pikuh: like forcing defog shouldn't be a primary reason for using it alongside pex. like there's a decent amount of stuff you could genuinely talk about before that so i really don't know why defog is so big here
  • Pivots such as Landorus-T, Magearna, and Tornadus-T make fantastic partners for Thundurus-T. Landorus-T gives Thundurus-T with a method of safely coming into battle and begin wallbreaking while also luring in Ground-immune Pokemon like Celesteela, Pelliper, and Tornadus-T, as well as Grass- and Water-types like Rotom-W and Mega Venusaur. Similarly, Magearna invites in Pokemon like Toxapex, Ferrothorn, and Mega Scizor which give Thundurus-T a shot at wallbreaking early.
again this is just stretched out. legit just say it pivots out shit w/ uturn on 2 examples at most b/c this is legit 50% filler.
  • Anti-offense Pokemon like Tyranitar, Mega Mawile, and Choice Scarf Greninja also make good teammates since they can revenge kill fast offensive threats such as Mega Latias and Mega Alakazam . Mega Mawile and Tyranitar can also take pressure off Thundurus-T being solely reliant on breaking through bulkier teams.
what are you even referring to when you say anti-offence? like if you're talking about speed control then mention that but don't use terms like that in an official setting. Move this up to moves; it's def consistent enough to be mentioned considering that it's shares a lot of important targets overall. I don't particularly agree w/ some of these Grass-type mentions since ferro is still being bopped by z fight and amoonguss takes like 60 at +2 iirc which is about the same as you're doing to av tang. def think it'll be better if you remove the grass mentions.

Add in another cost of less damage vs grasses and zam. hp flying can 2hko m-zam after rocks, ohko spdef bulu at +2 etc

Thundurus-T is often overshadowed as an Electric-type by Tapu Koko, Rotom-W, and Magnezone, which provide more consistant utility to a team beyond wallbreaking, aren't weak to Stealth Rock, and have better speed tiers. Rotom-W and Magnezone don't have better Speed tiers than Thundurus-T. In all honesty, comparing Thundurus-T to any Electric-type other than Tapu Koko doesn't make much sense.

Thundurus-T can take advantage of its typing to freely set up against Pokemon such as Celesteela, Jirachi, and Mega Scizor. I wouldn't recommend setting up against Jirachi because specially defensive variants don't mind a neutral Thunderbolt too much and can just use U-turn as a result and Choice Scarf variants with Ice Punch are pretty common. Another method to bring Thundurus-T into battle is to try and pivot against other Electric-types such as Tapu Koko, Zapdos, and Magnezone, but this play is generally not worth it because Thundurus-T relies on being healthy in able to functionally break things like chansey while having a chance to stay out of neutral range of revenge killers. Chansey isn't very relevant to mention here because it's barely, if ever, run with any of these Electric-types. Try to save Thundurus-T's Z-move for a target that is normally not threatened by either Thunderbolt or Hidden Power Flying such as Chansey, Ferrothorn, or Gastrodon. It should be noted somewhere that you should also be wary of switching in when Stealth Rock are on the field, as Thundurus-T can quickly be worn down.

Team Options

Entry hazard removal from the likes of Tornadus-T, Tapu Fini, and Landorus-T make excellent partners to remove Stealth Rock and give Thundurus-T an easier time coming into battle. Toxapex can make a decent parter for Thundurus-T because of its ability to set Toxic Spikes, which can ease Thundurus-T's matchup against Gastrodon and Unaware Clefable Tangrowth. Toxapex can also lure in Tapu Koko, Tapu Fini, and Tornadus-T, which can give Thudurus-T an opportunity to switch in and begin wallbreaking. Besides Tapu Fini, these Pokemon should not be switching into Toxapex at all. Pivots such as Landorus-T, Magearna, and Tornadus-T make fantastic partners for Thundurus-T. Landorus-T gives Thundurus-T with a method of safely coming into battle and begin wallbreaking against Pokemon like Ferrothorn, Tapu Koko, and Magnezone. Pokemon that provide speed control like Tyranitar, Mega Mawile, and Choice Scarf Greninja also make good teammates since they can revenge kill fast offensive threats such as Mega Latias and Mega Alakazam . Honestly not that important. Also, how does Tyranitar provide Speed control? Mega Mawile and Tyranitar can also take pressure off Thundurus-T being solely reliant on breaking through bulkier teams. Other offensive Pokemon like Ash Greninja, Kartana, and Mega Scizor greatly appreciate Thundurus-T luring in and removing bulky Grass-, Water- and Steel-types. Mega Scizor is not an offensive Pokemon like Ash-Greninja and Kartana are. Mega Scizor also lures in Water-, Steel-, and Electric-types such as Magnezone, Toxapex, and Celesteela for Thundurus-T.

In Moves, you mention that Hidden Power Flying hits Gastrodon, so I'm not sure whether it does or doesn't now. Ferrothorn's also still OHKOed by a boosted Focus Blast. Thundurus-T can make use of Agility to boost its Speed, which improves its offensive matchup against Pokemon like Greninja, Tapu Koko, and Mega Medicham, but this requires giving up an important coverage option.

Both of these Pokemon threaten Thundurus-T out of the battle because it only has Hidden Power Flying to pressure them while they can easily retaliate after switching in with their powerful moves. Neither Hidden Power Flying or Hidden Power Ice can pressure Mega Latias well.

**Specially Defensive Pokemon**: Pokemon such as Gastrodon, Chansey, and Assualt Vest Magearna take any move that Thundurus-T goes for and can either recover the health done or retaliate with Toxic or Fluer Cannon and Ice Beam in Magearna's case. Other offensive Pokemon like Ash-Greninja, Kartana, and Tapu Lele greatly appreciate Thundurus-T luring in and removing bulky Grass-, Water-, and Steel-types. Mega Scizor can also make a decent teammate, since it also lures in Water-, Steel-, and Electric-types such as Magnezone, Toxapex, and Celesteela for Thundurus-T.

This is often easier said than done because Thundurus-T's Speed, while decent for a wallbreaker, leaves it easily revenge killed by much faster Pokemon like Mega Alakazam, Greninja, and Garchomp, which means it often won't get a safe chance to boost.
