Ting-Lu @ Leftovers
Ability: Vessel of Ruin
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Tera Type: Poison
Careful Nature
- Ruination
- Earthquake
- Spikes / Rest
- Whirlwind / Sleep Talk

Ting-Lu is an absolute stalwart in the Special Defense slot as it's now able to hard check almost every special attacker such as Eternatus and Gholdengo. Spikes is a crucial entry hazard that Ting-Lu can easily set up thanks to tanking multiple hits while doing so. Whirlwind allows Ting-Lu to not only be setup fodder, but also rack up chip damage once even one layer of Spikes has been set. Rest is a fantastic alternative as it is Ting-Lu's only form of recovery and can be a solid option alongside Sleep Talk should the team have entry hazards elsewhere. Whirlwind can also be used over Ruination in conjunction with Rest and Sleep Talk as a means for Ting-Lu to still provide phazing to the team and not be setup fodder.

Ting-Lu is solely fitting in Special Defense slots on teams as most of the bigger Special Defense donations from the likes of Arceus formes or Zacian-C allow Ting-Lu to leverage its ability and typing to the absolute fullest. Other entry hazard setters such as Clefable and Skarmory allow Ting-Lu to have a bit more freedom should it opt for RestTalk over its own Spikes. Pivots such as Rotom-W and Hisuian Electrode appreciate the Spikes that Ting-Lu can easily set as they can apply pressure to rack up chip damage. Spin blockers such as Gholdengo and Sinistcha are fantastic partners as they can ensure the Spikes Ting-Lu sets up are not removed. Lastly, Knock Off users such as Clefable and Tornadus-T can rid the opponent of their Heavy-Duty Boots to stack the chip damage that Spikes can provide.
