Fractures start to form throughout Boulder's Substitute, but otherwise the Bolderdash is unaffected and he leaps to the offensive with a scalding wave of heat. Aches hopes to plant a curse upon one of Boulder's techniques, however as the Bolderdash hasn't used it yet, the curse fails. The Boulder finishes this round with a molten fire stream, while Aches uselessly attempts to hypnotize a Substitute doll.

Once Scarlet takes the field, The Boulder doesn't waste time keeping up the momentum by showering his new opponent with more sharp gemstones that pull right through the facility and pierce the poor fox. Even more, The Boulder has been empowered by this ancient force, bolstering all his attributes. Despite being locked in an enclosed artificial environment now covered in watery slush, Scarlet launches a biochemical orb that stings all over the Bolderdash. The Boulder releases a toxin cloud that just barely misses Scarlet, while the Vulpix releases a bone-chilling wind that raises all her stats to even the score. Preparing another biochemical orb, The Boulder seals off Scarlet before she can let it off.

The weather generations begin to slow down and turn off, showcasing the heavily weather-beaten complex with various small puddles, pools, and strewn slush all about.
