will get up asap :toxicroak:

[OVERVIEW]

Dry Skin and Poison typing make Toxicroak the tier's premier offensive switch-in to Vaporeon, and with Swords Dance, it can consistently set up and break through defensive cores that revolve around it. These same traits also make Toxicroak a soft check to the other Water-types in the tier, reliably checking Blastoise at full health or switching into Starmie's Hydro Pump and threatening it out with Sucker Punch. On top of that, Toxicroak only needs minimal chip damage to finish off bulkier builds or clean up against offense ones thanks to its priority Sucker Punch. Toxicroak's main problems lie in its frailty, especially when coupled with Life Orb, giving it a hard time getting onto the field and setting up safely. Even +2 Toxicroak is easily revenge killed, especially sets without Sucker Punch, with Pokemon like Talonflame and Salazzle consistently KOing it because of its poor defenses. It also has competition from the other Fighting-types in the tier in Sirfetch'd and Machamp, as both do not need to boost to wallbreak, making them more consistent.

Drain Punch helps mitigate Life Orb recoil damage but a Swords Dance-boosted Low Kick with an Adamant nature has a chance to KO Mudsdale after Stealth Rock. Sucker Punch helps Toxicroak sweep against more offensive teams and threatens frail revenge killers such as Salazzle and Starmie, but Knock Off can cripple potential answers like Mudsdale and Talonflame for the rest of the game, while Earthquake will KO Poison-types like Dragalge and Garbodor that resist both of its STAB attacks. Adamant is the preferred nature for the extra power boost while still allowing Toxicroak to outspeed Pokemon like Tyrantrum, Blastoise, and Decidueye, but Jolly variants have the benefit of outspeeding Pokemon like Hasty Goodra and offensive Braviary.

Toxicroak pairs best offensively with Pokemon that appreciate a consistent Vaporeon switch-in, such as Fire-types like Talonflame and Arcanine, Water-types like Blastoise and Starmie, and Glastrier, all of which reliably bait in Vaporeon for Toxicroak. On top of that, getting rid of Ground-types like Mudsdale and Palossand is key for letting Toxicroak sweep, so Grass-types like Dhelmise, Decidueye, and Rotom-C make great offensive teammates. Poison-types like Weezing, Dragalge, and Garbodor can all cause problems for Toxicroak, making Ground- and Steel-types like Golurk, Mudsdale, and Bronzong helpful partners. Defensively, Toxicroak appreciates switch-ins to Fire-types, making Rock- and Water-types like Diancie and Vaporeon fantastic partners. Toxicroak also pairs well with Ground-immune Pokemon such as Talonflame, Xatu, and Rotom-C. Steel-types such as Copperajah and Bronzong are reliable answers to Dragalge, which switches into most variants of Toxicroak, although sets running Earthquake will bait in and KO it. Steel-types also add the extra benefit of a crucial Psychic and Flying resistance, stopping Pokemon like Celebi, Starmie, and Talonflame that expect a free KO.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
====

Nasty Plot sets punish common Ground-type switch-ins such as Mudsdale which can be OHKOed by a +2 Focus Blast and also have the benefit of STAB Vacuum Wave, helping pick off weakened Pokemon that don't resist it, although they're a lot less effective at beating common revenge killers such as Talonflame, Salazzle, and Starmie.

Checks and Counters
====

**Ground-types**: Mudsdale will almost always stop a sweep, reliably tanking multiple hits in conjunction with Stamina, although sets with Low Kick can KO it. Palossand resists both of Toxicroak's STAB moves, and with Colbur Berry, it will always beat every variant of Toxicroak, even Nasty Plot. Golurk also deserves mention, as it reliably beats Earthquake variants of Toxicroak, although it folds to Sucker Punch or Knock Off.

**Poison-types**: Dragalge resists both of Toxicroak's STAB moves and can take advantage of it to set up Toxic Spikes or throw out strong attacks. Garbodor will force massive damage on it through Rocky Helmet and Aftermath while setting up Spikes in the process, although Earthquake variants can bait in and KO both Garbodor and Dragalge. Levitate Weezing completely walls Toxicroak and threatens it out with Will-O-Wisp, but it hates Knock Off getting rid of the little recovery it gets, and Neutralizing Gas Weezing will be 2HKOed by Earthquake.

**Psychic-types**: Starmie and Celebi can easily revenge kill Toxicroak, although neither can switch in reliably and Sucker Punch variants beat them after some chip damage. Indeedee-F will also always revenge kill Toxicroak thanks to Psychic Terrain blocking Sucker Punch. Levitate Bronzong can reliably wall Earthquake sets, but Knock Off or Sucker Punch will KO it at +2.

**Fire-types**: With Dry Skin, Toxicroak gets a slight weakness to Fire-type moves, and on top of that, Arcanine can reliably switch into it because of Intimidate. Salazzle resists its STAB attacks and easily OHKOes back, but boosted Sucker Punch can pick it off. Talonflame outspeeds and revenge kills Toxicroak with Brave Bird and can threaten a burn if it switches into Toxicroak's Fighting-type move, although it fears switching into Gunk Shot.

[OVERVIEW]

[Make a sentence here about Toxicroak being a decent wallbreaker and set up sweeper because of its stats, decent coverage moves, and life orb] With the ability (fluff) Dry Skin and a Poison-typing, Toxicroak has cemented itself as the tier's premier offensive switch in to Vaporeon, and when coupled with Swords Dance, Toxicroak can consistently set up and break through defensive cores that rely on the tier titan's cleric support. [Dry Skin helps with a lot of Water-types like Blastoise and Mantine also. Emphasis on Vaporeon is great but I feel like starting off this opening section like " Thanks to Dry Skin, Toxicroak acts as a premier offensive check to Water-types like xyz. Then mention Vaporeon in the next sentence with emphasis that its setup fodder. I don't feel like the "Poison-typing" is exactly needed here since this sentence is just covering Water-types pretty much."] Toxicroak also has potential to can act as a late-game(AH) sweeper and revenge killer, needing minimal chip to finish off bulkier builds or to clean up against offense thanks to its priority options in Sucker Punch and Vacuum Wave. Toxicroak's main problems lie in its frailty, especially when coupled with Life Orb, giving it a hard time getting onto the field and setting up safely.

Drain Punch is usually the prefered preferred STAB of choice to help mitigate Life Orb recoil but Low Kick with an Adamant nature has a chance to KO Mudsdale after Stealth Rocks Stealth Rock. [Bit of nitpicking but I consider Drain Punch and Low Kick 100% interchangeable because I see them both as significant options. I'd just say something Drain Punch and Low Kick are interchangeable options then list what each does like you have now] [Toxicroak needs to be at +2 to have a chance of OHKOING Mudsdale after Stealth Rock] Sucker Punch helps Toxicroak sweep against more offensive teams, but Knock Off can help cripple potential answers. [just a bit too broad? "Sucker Punch helps Toxicroak deal with faster Pokemon/threats like xyz while Knock Off does abracadabra] Earthquake hits Poison-types like will KO Dragalge, Weezing, and Garbodor, who that resists both of its STABs after Stealth Rocks. [its going to resist your stabs even with hazards off, fluff]

Toxicroak pairs best offensively with Pokemon that appreciate a consistent Vaporeon switch in such as Fire-types like Talonflame and Arcanine or Water-types like Blastoise and Starmie, all of which reliably bait in Vaporeon for Toxicroak. On top of that, getting rid of Ground-types like Mudsdale and Flygon is key for letting Toxicroak sweep, so Grass-types like Dhelmise and Decidueye or Ice-types like Glastrier make great offensive partners. Toxicroak also appreciates the help of pivots such as Xatu and Vaporeon to get it onto the field safely. Defensively, Toxicroak appreciates switch ins to Fire-types making Rock- and Water-types like Diancie and Vaporeon fantastic partners. Toxicroak also pairs well with Ground immunities such as Talonflame, Flygon, and Rotom-C that help switch into Ground-types that cause problems for it. Steel-types such as Copperajah and Bronzong are reliable answers to Dragalge which switches into most variants of Toxicroak, although sets running Earthquake will bait in and KO it. Steel-types also add the extra benefit of a crucial Psychic resist, stopping Pokemon like Articuno-G Celebi [vr relevancy] and Starmie that expect a free KO. To help patch up its frailty, cleric support from Pokemon like Vaporeon and Sylveon help keep Toxicroak healthy throughout the match, allowing it to come in over and over again. Toxicroak can also fit wonderfully with dual screens support, fixing its poor bulk to allow it to set up with relative ease. On dual screens, Toxicroak meshes well with Hyper Offense staples Shell Smash Blastoise and Salazzle, eliminating Vaporeon to allow them both to sweep.

Nasty Plot sets have been used to punish common Ground-type switch ins, such as Mudsdale and Flygon, both of which can be KOed by a +2 Focus Blast. Nasty Plot sets also have the benefit of STAB Vacuum Wave, helping pick off weakened Pokemon. [Mention Ice Punch as a lure for Flygon]

Checks and Counters

**Ground-types**: Mudsdale will almost always stop a sweep, reliably eating multiple eats in conjunction with Stamina, although sets with Low Kick can KO it. Defensive variants of Flygon will always wall Toxicroak, even if set up, and offensive Flygon will reliably switch in once and revenge kill Toxicroak.

**Dragalge**: Dragalge resists both of your STABs and can take advantage of Toxicroak to set up Toxic Spikes or throw off huge damage although Earthquake variants will bait in and KO Dragalge. [Change this section to "Poison-types" You need to note that no Poison-type appreciates Toxicroak's Earthquake"]

**Psychic-types**: Starmie, Articuno-G, and Celebi Celebi, and Galarian Articuno [relevant -> less relevant] can all easily revenge kill and KO Toxicroak, although none can switch in reliably, and if it is a Sucker Punch variant, Toxicroak beats them after some chip.

**Fire-types**: With Dry Skin, Toxicroak gets an added Fire weakness, and on top of that, Arcanine reliably switches into Toxicroak. Salazzle resists your STABS, eating a hit and KOing you back. Talonflame will always revenge kill Toxicroak and can threaten a burn if it switches into your Fighting STAB.

On dual screens, Toxicroak meshes well with Hyper Offense staples Shell Smash Blastoise and Salazzle, eliminating Vaporeon to allow them both to sweep. (do people really use Toxicroak on HO? I haven't seen it myself at all, so I'm leaning towards this being worth cutting. In my experience, HO is basically Xatu + Blastoise + Decidueye + Salazzle + two fillers of choice, and I don't really see the benefit to slotting Toxicroak in here. You can argue against this if you'd like, of course.)

in response to the HO thing, I loved using it as it will reliably beat/abuse vaporeon and KO or put Ground's in TTrum range. Up to the qc though if you think I should remove that line

Even when it is set up, Toxicroak is easily revenge killed, with Pokemon like Talonflame and Flygon consistantly KOing it because of its poor defenses, especially for Toxicroak sets without Sucker Punch.

Toxicroak can also set up in front of Sylveon making teams that rely on wish support in general a liability.
Toxicroak does face some competition from Sirfetch'd as it doesn't need a boost to wallbreak.

Drain Punch is usually the prefered STAB of choice to help mitigate Life Orb recoil but a Swords Dance boosted Low Kick with an Adamant nature has a chance to KO Mudsdale after Stealth Rock. Sucker Punch helps Toxicroak sweep against more offensive teams and threatens frail revenge killers such as Salazzle and Starmie, but Knock Off can help cripple potential answers like Mudsdale, Flygon, or Talonflame for the rest of the game. Earthquake will KO Dragalge, who resists both of its STABs after Stealth Rock. Adamant is the prefered nature for the extra power boost while still allowing you to still outspeed Pokemon like Tyrantrum, Blastoise, and Decidueye.

Toxicroak pairs best offensively with Pokemon that appreciate a consistent Vaporeon switch-in such as Fire-types like Talonflame and Arcanine or Water-types like Blastoise and Starmie, all of which reliably bait in Vaporeon for Toxicroak. Glastier is another Pokemon that needs Vaporeon gone to reliably sweep or break through teams so it loves Toxicroak as a partner. On top of that, getting rid of Ground-types like Mudsdale and Flygon is key for letting Toxicroak sweep, so Grass-types like Dhelmise, Decidueye and Rotom-C make great offensive teammates. Poison-types like Weezing, Dragalge, and Garbodor can all cause problems for Toxicroak, making Ground-types like Flygon, Golurk, and Mudsdale helpful partners. Toxicroak also appreciates the help of pivots such as Xatu and Vaporeon to get it onto the field safely. Defensively, Toxicroak appreciates switch-ins to Fire-types making Rock- and Water-types like Diancie and Vaporeon fantastic partners. Nasty Plot sets have been used to punish common Ground-type switch-ins, such as Mudsdale and Flygon, both of which can be OHKOed by a +2 Focus Blast. Nasty Plot sets also have the benefit of STAB Vacuum Wave, helping pick off weakened Pokemon that don't resist it, although Nasty Plot Toxicroak is a lot less effective at beating common revenge killers such as Talonflame, Salazzle, or Starmie.

Checks and Counters

**Ground-types**: Mudsdale will almost always stop a sweep, reliably eating multiple hits in conjunction with Stamina, although sets with Low Kick can KO it. Defensive variants of Flygon will always wall Toxicroak, even if set up, and offensive Flygon will reliably switch-in once and revenge kill Toxicroak. Golurk also deserves mention as it reliably beats Earthquake variants of Toxicroak, although it folds to Sucker Punch or Knock Off.

**Poison-types**: Dragalge resists both of your Toxicroak's STABs and can take advantage of Toxicroak to set up Toxic Spikes or throw off huge damage and .Garbodor will force massive damage on it through Rocky Helmet and Aftermath while setting up Spikes in the process, although Earthquake variants can bait in and KO both of them. Levitate Weezing will wall every attack you go for, but it hates Knock Off, getting rid of the little recovery it gets and Neutralizing Gas Weezing will be 2HKOed by Earthquake.

Replace Garbodor with Drapion, Weezing wisps it btw.

**Psychic-types**: Starmie, Articuno-GEspeon, and Celebi can all easily revenge kill and KO Toxicroak, although none can switch-in reliably, and if it is a Sucker Punch variant, Toxicroak beats them after some chip. Levitate Bronzong can also reliably wall Earthquake sets, but Knock Off or Sucker Punch will KO it at +2

**Fire-types**: With Dry Skin, Toxicroak gets an added Fire weakness, and on top of that, Arcanine reliably switches into Toxicroak. Salazzle resists your its STABS, eating taking a hit and OHKOing you it back. Talonflame will always revenge kill Toxicroak and can threaten a burn if it switches into your Toxicroak's Fighting STAB.

Small nitpick but it's not actually a Fire weakness, Fire-type attacks deal 25% more damage to a Pokemon with Dry Skin. Toxicroak takes less from a Fire-type move than for example a Vileplume.

[OVERVIEW]

With the ability Dry Skin and a Poison-typing, Toxicroak has cemented itself as the tier's premier offensive switch-in to Vaporeon, and when coupled with Swords Dance, Toxicroak can consistently set up and break through defensive cores that rely on the tier titan's cleric support. These same traits make Toxicroak a soft check to the other Water-types in the tier, reliably checking Blastoise if Toxicroak is at full or switching into a Starmie Hydro Pump and threatening it out with Sucker Punch. On top of that, Toxicroak also has potential to act as a late game sweeper, needing minimal chip to finish off bulkier builds or to clean up against offense thanks to its priority Sucker Punch. Toxicroak's main problems lie in its frailty, especially when coupled with Life Orb, giving it a hard time getting onto the field and setting up safely.

Steel-types also add the extra benefit of a crucial Psychic resist, stopping Pokemon like Celebi and Starmie that expect a free KO. Toxicroak can also fit wonderfully with dual screens support, fixing its poor bulk to allow it to set up with relative ease. On dual screens, Toxicroak meshes well with Hyper Offense staples Shell Smash Blastoise, Salazzle, eliminating Vaporeon to allow them both to sweep. It can also bait in and chip Ground-types to allow Dragon Dance Tyrantrum to sweep, too.

Garb has seen a huge boost in usage recently as our best spiker and a consistent Fetch'd switch in, especially in the past two weeks. I have no doubt it'll be NU in a month whereas Weezing still hasn't caught on in the same way. Both are also good answers and should be on there.

Toxicroak's main problems lie in its frailty, especially when coupled with Life Orb, giving it a hard time getting onto the field and setting up safely. Even when it is set up, +2 Toxicroak is easily revenge killed, especially sets without Sucker Punch, with Pokemon like Talonflame and Salazzle consistently KOing it because of its poor defenses, especially for Toxicroak sets without Sucker Punch. It also has competition from the other Fighting-types in the tier in Sirfetch'd and Machamp,(AC) as both do not need to boost up to wallbreak, making them more consistent.

Drain Punch is usually the prefered STAB of choice to help helps mitigate Life Orb recoil damage, but a Swords Dance-boosted(AH) Low Kick with an Adamant nature has a chance to KO Mudsdale after Stealth Rock. Sucker Punch helps Toxicroak sweep against more offensive teams and threatens frail revenge killers such as Salazzle and Starmie, but Knock Off can help cripple potential answers like Mudsdale or and Talonflame for the rest of the game,(AC) while Earthquake will KO Poison-types like Dragalge and Garbodor who that resists both of its STAB attacks. Adamant is the prefered preferred nature for the extra power boost while still allowing you Toxicroak to still outspeed Pokemon like Tyrantrum, Blastoise, and Decidueye, but Jolly variants have the benefit of outspeeding Pokemon like Hasty Goodra and offensive Braviary.

Toxicroak pairs best offensively with Pokemon that appreciate a consistent Vaporeon switch-in such as Fire-types like Talonflame and Arcanine or Water-types like Blastoise and Starmie, Water-types like Blastoise and Starmie, and Glastrier, all of which reliably bait in Vaporeon for Toxicroak. Glastier is another Pokemon that needs Vaporeon gone to reliably sweep or break through teams so it loves Toxicroak as a partner. Defensively, Toxicroak appreciates switch-ins to Fire-types,(AC) making Rock- and Water-types like Diancie and Vaporeon fantastic partners. Toxicroak also pairs well with Ground immunities Ground-immune Pokemon such as Talonflame, Xatu, and Rotom-C that help switch into Ground-types that cause problems for it. Steel-types such as Copperajah and Bronzong are reliable answers to Dragalge,(AC) which switches into most variants of Toxicroak, although sets running Earthquake will bait in and KO it. Steel-types also add the extra benefit of a crucial Psychic and Flying resist resistance, stopping Pokemon like Celebi, Starmie, and Talonflame that expect a free KO.

Nasty Plot sets have been used to punish common Ground-type switch-ins (RC) such as Mudsdale, which can be OHKOed by a +2 Focus Blast,(period -> comma) Nasty Plot sets also and have the benefit of STAB Vacuum Wave, helping pick off weakened Pokemon that don't resist it, although Nasty Plot Toxicroak is they're a lot less effective at beating common revenge killers such as Talonflame, Salazzle, or and Starmie.

**Ground-types**: Mudsdale will almost always stop a sweep, reliably eating tanking multiple eats hits in conjunction with Stamina, although sets with Low Kick can KO it. Colbur Berry Palossand resists both of Toxicroak's main STAB attacks, and with Colbur Berry, with it will always beat every variant of Toxicroak, even Nasty Plot. Golurk also deserves mention,(AC) as it reliably beats Earthquake variants of Toxicroak, although it folds to Sucker Punch or Knock Off.

**Poison-types**: Dragalge resists both of Toxicroak's STAB moves and can take advantage of Toxicroak it to set up Toxic Spikes or throw off huge damage strong attacks. Garbodor will force massive damage on it through Rocky Helmet and Aftermath while setting up Spikes in the process, although Earthquake variants can bait in and KO both of them Garbodor and Dragalge. Levitate Weezing will wall every attack you go for and threatens you out with Will-o-Wisp completely walls Toxicroak and threatens it out with Will-O-Wisp, but it hates Knock Off (RC) getting rid of the little recovery it gets,(AC) and Neutralizing Gas Weezing will be 2HKOed by Earthquake.

**Psychic-types**: Starmie and Celebi can easily revenge kill and KO Toxicroak, although none can switch in(RH) reliably, and if it is a Sucker Punch variant, Toxicroak it beats them after some chip damage. Indeedee-F will also always revenge kill Toxicroak thanks to Psychic Terrain blocking Sucker Punch and letting it safely outspeed. Levitate Bronzong can also reliably wall Earthquake sets, but Knock Off or Sucker Punch will KO it at +2.(AP)

**Fire-types**: With Dry Skin, Toxicroak gets a slight weakness to Fire-type moves, and on top of that, Arcanine can reliably switch into Toxicroak it because of Intimidate, Salazzle resists both its STABS, taking a hit and OHKOing it back, and Talonflame will always revenge kill Toxicroak, threatening a burn if it switches into Toxicroak's Fighting STAB, although it fears switching into a Gunk Shot. Intimidate.
