Details:
Throat Spray is an incredibly unique, powerful, and undervalued item. It lets Toxtricity "set up" by raising his Sp. Atk. without having to use a turn to do so. Punk Rock combines perfectly with this item powering Toxtricity's sound based moves even further. Although Toxtricity will have unimaginable damage, his relatively lower speed will be one of his greatest drawbacks. For this reason he has the Timid nature to help increase his Speed. Boomburst will be Toxtricity's core damaging move alongside Overdrive. They each hit both of the enemies while also dealing additional damage from Punk Rock, and even raise the Pokemon's Sp. Atk. in the process. Boomburst will have superior damage compared to Overdrive, but also hits ally Pokemon. Ghost Pokemon or ones with Wide Guard/Protect are great ways to get around this drawback. Overdrive is a powerful STAB move alternative which should be prioritized when ally Pokemon cannot take a Boomburst, or when super effective to enemies. Sludge Wave is another great special STAB move useful only when enemies are weak to poison or after Throat Spray's consumption because it does not benefit from Punk Rock nor Throat Spray. Volt-Switch gives Toxtricity an out when set against an Earthquake'r whom he may not be able to 1HKO, or when things do not go as planned (Trick room, haze, ... etc). Nuzzle is another alternative move to slow down enemy Pokemon via Paralysis to give Toxtricity the edge in battle. Investing EVs in Speed and Sp. Atk. will help this Pokemon move first and get the snowball started.

Ghost Type Pokemon (Mimikyu, Aegislash, Dragapult, and Drifblim) make great partners for Toxtricity since they not only are immune to his Boomburst, but also because they help cover the weakness to fairy type Pokemon. Drifblim is especially useful because he is immune to Boomburst as well as Earthquake, but also learns Tailwind to make Toxtricity unstoppable. Hydreigon is another powerful teammate for Toxtricity. Their type-ings compliment and cover each other very well. Hygreigon also learns Tailwind and is immune to Eathquake to discourage its use.
